Disney Dream Inaugural Cruise 1/26/2011 Part 2

Excited to have Mike Super onboard. We saw him several times on the wonder and here in Pittsburgh. My son will be wearing his lavenous tshirt.

Great to hear all the positives from those onboard now.
Can't wait to get away from this snow.

Hey there! Are you on Wednesday's Southwest flight? I hope we have good weather for flying!!!!!!!:scared1:

Go Steelers!

So they let pepsi products come on ship?!?! My husband struggles with all coke products!

:happytv: Hi,
I always bring two six packs of 24oz. bottles when we go for 7 days...

no problems, not even on the Freedom of the sea :scared1::rolleyes1.

see you next week,
gg

OK, all you moms or designated packers of the family could symphatize with me...

How in the world am I going to fit a 9 day vacation in 1 suitcase for 3 people when the temperature ranges from 37 to 76?!?!?!?!?!?
Plus fancy clothes and shoes.... :faint:

Seriously!!!!

lol, I use compression bags. I have managed to pack for a month in one checked bag, including formal, and pirate stuff - temp range from 90 to 20...not easy. It was interesting but can be done. If I may ask - why only one bag? It seems to be that most airlines allow one bag per person...

If I may suggest - don't try to pack for each temp range - you are leaving from cold and headed to warm - layers! Then carry the coats when you land. Use synthetics as much as possible - the rinse out in the sink, and dry quickly. Simple stuff that can be mixed with others. Use the accessories to make the outfit. A LBD can be dressed up or down. to quote Alton Brown - nothing should be a "uni-tasker"...does that help?

ok - I didn't read your second post before I wrote this...sounds like you have it under control!

Keep an eye on the weather - we are expecting heavy snow on Wednesday....I hope you are not expecting snow. In Dec I had all kinds of trouble trying to get to Fl - took 3 days!

I live in NJ...I was on the New Year Eve cruise - took me 3 days to get to FL...I got to the ship about an hour before the gangway was lifted....it was pretty hairy. Ended up (very long story...kinda funny tho!) With the last flight out of JFK on Tues night canceled - had to take a taxi to Penn Station (NYC) train to Phili, taxi to Phili airport, 6am flight to Tampa, drive to Port Canaveral....I really do not need a repeat!

literally trains, planes and autos to get to the ship :rotfl:

I am leaving on Monday - I would seriously suggest you leave a day or two earlier if you can!

excited, flying the day of on airtran wish us luck!!! hubby and i will be in 9646 anyone know if dcl will be offering special merchandise for the mv?

Morning ladies and gents:thumbsup2

Last day at work for me today, although I use the word 'work' very loosely .... I've ensured my workload is extra light today so i can fit in a hair cut at 12.30 and clearing up the house for the rest of the day!

No packing for us until Saturday night/Sunday morning .. leave for the airport Sunday and fly in on Monday to OKW. Have got my FE pressies sorted, not enough for everyone I'm afraid but I've got plenty of british sweeties for the BBQ so hopefully they make up for it.

I have put the FE presents and sweets for the BBQ in my case already and it seems I now have no room for clothing! Anyone mind if I wear sweet wrappers and ribbon on the cruise?!!:scared1:

Thanks to Ken for the lanyards
Thanks to Linda for the stateroom tours/FP/Navigators
Thanks to Sarah for the FE list
Thanks to Scott for the roster

You are all fab!!:cool1:

Hi All! Here you are:)

All the Dream coverage has me too excited to sleep!!
We fly out on Tuesday evening after work/school.

Safe Travels to all who are on the road, in the air, on the rails and otherwise on their way to the DREAM....:cloud9:

we are flying out on the last flight Tuesday unless there is snow -then hopefully we will find somthing on Wed!

my son claims that I should drive all night to get there if it looks bad for flying. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. I would have gone down sooner but they made it very difficult about him missing school. won't give him any work ahead of time. he'll have to make it all up and it looks like a paper will be due on Monday. Just want I want to do on vacation is nag him about getting a paper done.
I'm jealous of all those already there and headed down. have a safe trip. what time is everyone headed to the port? I don't want to get there at 10 and find I have the last number to board.

Thanks for the tips!!
I'm trying to do what you suggested, but it ends up being about 1.5 suitcase.
I think my the things that messed me up are diapers and shoes... :headache:
If I don't have to take fancy shoes or diapers/wipes I probably could get away with 1.
Oh well... that just means more room for buying Dream stuff right? :rotfl:

See you on the boat!!!

We have 2 suitcases packed and ready and will fill up a smaller one this weekend. Safe travels to all those that are leaving soon.
