Disney Dream Inaugural Cruise 1/26/2011 Part 2

WOOHOO! :yay: I've been holding off buying my Disney D&B in hopes that there would be a special Maiden Voyage design! Thank you for the info!!!

I'm not trying to burst your bubble but I think they might be referring to the current DCL design. From what I hear they only have limited amt sold during these shakedown cruises and are waiting to load them up on the MV.
I had a friend looking for the medium DB and they didn't sell any, anticipating the Dream crowd will be buying them.

But this is not an official news or anything, just pieceing together the info I've been reading/hearing.

It'll be real exciting if there's a new design tho!!!

Yup, Its the meds. I am crying now thinking of all the people thinking of me and the nice replies I have received back! Thanks so much for the support and for all the great people here!

Leaving on Saturday and it can't come fast enough! FE's for every stateroom are finally done!

OK, all you moms or designated packers of the family could symphatize with me...

How in the world am I going to fit a 9 day vacation in 1 suitcase for 3 people when the temperature ranges from 37 to 76?!?!?!?!?!?
Plus fancy clothes and shoes.... :faint:

Seriously!!!!

I have found bring outfits that can be mixed and matched work well! I did buy some of those all in one laundry detergent/dryer sheet things from walmart to do some laundry. We will be gone for 8 days total and I think that doing some laundry will help (and save room for more Dream souvenirs!). Also, since I am coming from MN- I usually only bring one sweatshirt (wear it down to FL), with the expectations that we always buy another one on ship. I plan on going light with the shampoos and soaps because I love the products on the ship.
We don't have kids, but I find that my husband overpacks worse than I do!! He's horrible.

Not sure if anyone has posted this or not...

I'm on the Christening Cruise right now, and I was in the shops when they opened today. There are a lot of Inagural items, but many things are not out because they are specific to the Maiden. I heard several people as CMs for various items (Vinylmations, Dream Dooney...well, the Dooney question was mine:)) and it was repeated over and over that it was held back for the Maiden. I spoke with one of the managers and he said that there has been 590 RSPs submitted so far, but people will be able to do it once onboard too, and there will probably be a max number of things allowed per cabin but it wouldn't be too crazy...for example, it should be no problem getting shirts for every member of your party.

He said that there will be no allowing of people hoarding merchandise, and there is special merchandise specific to "the most important cruise...the Maiden Voyage".

I just thought everyone on here would want to know that the CMs are treating the Maiden like the first "real" cruise, and despite all these tester cruises, the one that counts is the Maiden:)

OMG, I love you! I feel so much better about the MV being special. Thanks for your post!

Yeah I bought the purex thing, I hope it works well since we're used to no perfumed stuff now... :)

I think I gave up on 1 suitcase... sigh... DH is going to laugh at me...

Just to let you know the Purex Sheets really do work well. I bought them last year when we rented a condo in Kissimmee and we are back in Kissimmee and using them again.

I understand the suitcase problem. There is only 2 of us and I can't do just one. Good luck, See you all soon.

Peg

omg...i am seeing a line at the gift shop....someone please tell disney now to load up at least several hundred purses!!!!!!!

Maybe we can get Linda to make Fast passes for the shops. :rotfl:

DS is freakin' out! We leave tomorrow and he is so excited he can't control himself. He asked that next time we go away I do not tell him because he just can't handle the excitement. Yes, I totally understand my son...:rotfl2:

Good to hear the purex things work well- I figured less liquids pack means less mess possible. We always take two suitcases- always been within the weight limits luckily. Although we never bring much for carry on, I am thinking about actually bringing on of the smaller suitcases for all goodies I am planning on buying (don't tell my husband!!).

Adam my friend, it's not a dream it's reality. I have faith for your full recovery.

Totally agree, as all of my immediate family are survivors, one of our past malamutes was also a surivior, LIVESTRONG:goodvibes

I'm actually using my carryon for the FE gifts. Once we hit FL and we have no worries about weight restrictions, FE's go in the big suitcases and we will fill the carryon with Pepsi and alcohol.

So they let pepsi products come on ship?!?! My husband struggles with all coke products!

Excited to have Mike Super onboard. We saw him several times on the wonder and here in Pittsburgh. My son will be wearing his lavenous tshirt.

Great to hear all the positives from those onboard now.
Can't wait to get away from this snow.

I''ve been sent the design work for my pillowcases and these should be delivered by tomorrow 1pm (hopefully).

I am so pleased with the design .. it's all done on an embroidery machine and you can choose whatever colours and wording you prefer. I initially requested black writing, but the lady said it looked odd .. glad she gave me her opinions before doing it as I think just having blue and red looks really good. :)

She has loads of DCL designs but I just went with the logo as I thought it would look good. :thumbsup2
