Disney Dream Inaugural Cruise 1/26/2011 Part 2

We are packed and ready to go. Our FE gifts took 1 1/2 suitcases, and we weren't even able to do enough for everyone!!! That means we'll have lots of room for souvenirs

Will leave at 3 a.m. tomorrow morning (tho in my mind it's really tonight ;-) We're driving down, staying overnight in South Carolina. We're staying at Vero for a few days before the cruise. We usually come to WDW this time of year and know how crazy the weather can be, didn't want to risk running into a delay due to weather and miss the cruise!!!

We plan to get to the terminal around 10 on sail day.

Sending prayers for safe travels for everyone. Looking forward to meeting you all!

You guys are so organized!! We are packing this weekend and printing off our magnets etc. Sending dog to puppy camp and watching football Sunday.

We will have at least one bag each -- between FE gifts, formal wear, pirate gear etc, it adds up! Plus we have a couple of days at each end of the cruise...thank goodness for lululemon (amazing canadian yoga type wear) easy to pack, fashionable and indestructible!!

We won't be hitting the terminal til around noon -- we are driving from WDW and hubby is doing the Richard Petty driving experience that morning.

So, Northern NJ got another 7-8 inches of fluffly white stuff. The plows hit the roads about 3am. Everything is super slippery and dangerous....JetBlue is offering free rebookings, and Tuesday is supposed to be another heavy storm.

My nerves are shot...I am packed, running around like a crazy lady trying to get the last of the stuff I HAVE to get done before I leave done...now snow.

I just can't win....FE gifts were shipped earlier this week to my roomie. All packed in one bag. I was amazed. I even packed my carryon inside the checked bag for coming home with goodies! Not really sure how it happened but that is all good!

Two more shifts at work - then I am (like bingo)

Getting so excited!! We are only 30 minutes from port so don't have all the travel plans a lot of you do. And the luggage restrictions, I feel so badly for you! But it sure would be more exciting if we were all packed and headed to the airport!!

We found out DH has to attend a meeting the morning of sailing so we are going to be super late. Not what I had planned at all, but hey, life happens! I'm hoping we will be there for the DVC photo, hoping, hoping, hoping, hoping!!

And now we are taking his car to park at the port (I have a brand new MINI cooper and am one of those park away from everyone kinda people or park next to something real tight). Since we are getting there late his old car can just take any old spot! It will be very interesting getting our luggage into a two seater tho!!!

Can't wait, can't wait, gonna be so much fun!!! Looking forward to seeing you all!

It is going to be LAVENOUS! I sent Mike Super a message and got his response this morning about a rumor I heard he was going to be on the Maiden Voyage.

"It is true!!! I can't wait!!! . We're all gonna have fun! Don't tell Mickey I told you. "

Quick question........was there something I was supposed to have filled out already to get a MV pin? I remember on the PC cruise, it was in my cabin on day 1...I just figured this would be the same, but people are talking about 590+ forms already being turned in....I am worried now I missed somethingAny help??????

Just a reminder - name badges and lanyards will be available at the following locations:

At Scott and Lynns BBQ at Old Key West on Tuesday, January 25.

At the terminal - I will get there fairly early - you will have to play "Where's Ken" to find me. It probably won't be to difficult - just ask the people with the special lanyards and name badges.

On Deck 12 - Starboard side (that's the ride side of the ship) - overlooking the Mickey and Donalds pools from 2:30 to 3:00pm - if it's raining, I will be on Deck 11, starboard side, between the two pools trying to stay dry.

If we can't connect in these places, you will have to call me in room 6554 and make arrangements for pickup.

if you have never done an RSP process I suggest you read the FAQ section first. Then click on the submit button. The directions in FAQ are pretty specific, and you should be ok with them..but I am sure many folks here would be willing to lend their expertise!

The FE list was updated this morning, and we're still just missing one room number. It'll be the final list as people are already leaving for Orlando. Wishing everyone safe travels and we'll see you aboard!!

Thank you! So...if I understand, I can fill out before sunday on line or by 5pm on the ship...and there really isn't a difference when i fill it out. The 2nd and 3rd ones...do they put those forms in your rooms at night? Really, I just want a pin for each of my DDs but want to make sure we get a chance at the ones they want.

Oh....and does anyone know the dining schedule? Is there a formal night? Pirate night? etc??? And, I know this question gets asked often, with a variety of responses, but for guys...jeans, button down shirt and blazer...is that ok for dinners?

I live in NJ...I was on the New Year Eve cruise - took me 3 days to get to FL...I got to the ship about an hour before the gangway was lifted....it was pretty hairy. Ended up (very long story...kinda funny tho!) With the last flight out of JFK on Tues night canceled - had to take a taxi to Penn Station (NYC) train to Phili, taxi to Phili airport, 6am flight to Tampa, drive to Port Canaveral....I really do not need a repeat!

I am leaving on Monday - I would seriously suggest you leave a day or two earlier if you can!

Similar story that I've told before so I'll make it short.

It was our first Disney Cruise and heavy ice was forecasted for the Atlanta area. Airlines announced that you could book an earlier flight at no charge since they expected problems on Saturday morning. We moved our Saturday 8:30 a.m. flight to Friday night at 10:20. Got on the plane...the storm had started early. Long story short, they deiced the plane 3 times, we sat on the plane all night and ended up leaving ATL only 1/2 hour before our original flight. Soon after take off they closed the airport.

The good news...when we got home from the cruise there were 4 vouchers from the airline good for 4 round trips so we used them to fly to LA for our
2nd Disney cruise!

my son claims that I should drive all night to get there if it looks bad for flying. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. I would have gone down sooner but they made it very difficult about him missing school. won't give him any work ahead of time. he'll have to make it all up and it looks like a paper will be due on Monday. Just want I want to do on vacation is nag him about getting a paper done.

My whole problem is the school thing, too! My father-in-law suggested looking into leaving Tuesday morning, but school is already upset! Grrrrr! I said maybe we have to drive down after school on Tuesday!

Most of my cruising has been in warm months, so I haven't ever had a problem before.

Maybe we will have a caravan!!!! "South bound and down roll it up and truckin....."

I hope I'm not intruding, as this is not my cruise. I have a favour to ask of anyone cruising on this one though. In the public Bathrooms on the Dream are Mickey Head Mirrors. Could anyone take a rough measurement of the large one for me? Diametre wise, straight across from side to side, of both the Head part of again of the ear part. I'm remodeling my bathroom, and am having a custom made mirror made. I don't know if I'm getting the size ratio correctly though of the ear size compared to the head size. I can pm my email to anyone who thinks they can do this for me. Please Please Please
