Hi, not sure if this is available or not, but I quickly was looking at a you tube video over the weekend, and she mentioned some of the staterooms on the Dream has larger balconies due to where they are located-they are all the family Verandah rooms, but some have larger balconies. Does anyone know if there is a listing somewhere showing those staterooms? I know I can go back to the video, but thought it would be convenient to see a listing of them so when we go to book I have it at hand.
Thanks everyone!

Category 4E. Mostly on deck 5, sleep 3-4. Also completely aft (actual back of ship) on multiple decks.

We are planning on booking a 4E for our summer 2024 cruise and I have been doing a lot of research! One thing to know is that from what I can tell, in a 4E, the size of the ROOM is similar to a category 5, but the balcony is much bigger. So it's classified as a 4 and listed as 299 square feet, but only sleeps 3 in most cases.

To find a 4E, go on the DCL site, choose your cruise, and select Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Veranda. Then select Aft on almost any deck and check the circle for 4E. Or try Forward and you'll see Deck 5 and 4Es only--the only Family Verandas on Deck 5 Forward are 4Es.

We have stayed in 6192 and 7194, both of which have extended verandahs. We are staying in 7194 again (our favourite), next year on the Fantasy just for that extended verandah. But as mentioned above, selected Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah, select Aft location and then look for Extended Verandah. It isn't just on deck 5 though - as I mentioned we've been on deck 6 and 7 which in this category.

Agreed, the Aft 4Es seem to be on almost all decks. It’s only the Forward 4Es that are on deck 5 only.

Great info!! thanks! We were going to go on the Wish next month, but had to cancel (our first cruise), now looking at the Dream for sometime next year, the ship looks gorgeous, and I think it looks like more "open" space than the Wish. Not that we would have known the difference, lol. Last time the TA chose the room, this time I def want the larger verandah if we can get it-thank you!!

I meant to ask, from what I understand this category (4E) is on other decks besides deck 5. We're 3 adults, any suggestions for what deck. We don't need to be near any of the kids or teen clubs-any thoughts? thanks!!

Got off the Dream about a week ago and had cabin 5662. It's an aft cabin with the larger verandah. It and cabins around us vibrated like crazy during our entire first night and part of the fourth night. We couldn't fall asleep. On the other nights it was fine. I called Guest Services at 3am, someone came up and agreed that it was unacceptable. They gave us a mid ship cabin to sleep in which was fine with us.

I will not take an aft cabin on the Dream or Fantasy again.

You can look at a deck plan. I like CruiseDeckPlans.com When I click on 4E it gives me the following decks:

From there you can look at exact stateroom numbers by going to each deck. 4E's with extended balconies will be far forward or far aft in the light blue (on this website). I believe deck 5 has some 4E's on the sides of the ship that have a regular balcony.

If you are interested in Aft (we like Forward so we can easily go up the stairs/elevator to the Cove Cafe), I'd recommend 9174, 9176, 9674, or the same cabins on deck 7 or 8, at least based on what I've read. It seems like 10 has noise from Cabanas and perhaps there's more of a risk of vibrations lower down?

Although I haven't stayed in any of these cabins myself, FYI--if you find someone who has, I'd trust them the most!

The light blue cabins are the 4E, Extended verandahs.

Here was my rationale for choosing one of them (Besides the extra deep veranda. We aren’t concerned with people looking at us. We have the depth of a regular Verandah in the shade - with loungers.

We are booked in a Deck 5, Forward, Starboard, to avoid the rattles of Aft. Just decided not to risk that. Also prefer Forward to avoid the weird elevator location on the pool deck (having to go through Cabanas). Also like that 5 Forward is near entertainment venues on Decks 3 and 4. Encouraging using stairs.

Also, Port side Deck 4 (the outside Promenade) allows smoking from 6p-6a.

We opted for 5546 with its rounded corner to allow a broader view of the ocean.

We are right over the door from the Walt Disney Theater elevator lobby out to the Deck 4 Promenade. Hoping that’s not an issue.

If we didn’t chose Forward, we would have gone with 5650 - it’s balcony is the width of two balconies - that would be a wide view of the ocean.

In addition to the vibrations, another issue with the aft extended verandahs is how loud the churning water from the propeller is if you’re on a lower deck. We like playing cards and eating room service on our verandah and found it to be so loud when the ship was moving in 5190 on the Dream. I presume higher decks are quieter.

I love the extended verandahs on the sides of the ship on deck 5 on the Dream and Fantasy. Some people don’t like that they’re exposed and people from deck 6 can look down into your verandah. At the ends of these runs of rooms is a verandah where there is no neighbor on one side, giving you a wraparound railing that gives an amazing 270° view. They are my favorite verandahs on the Dream and Fantasy. In the aft they’re 5664 and 5164. I believe there are two more in the front of the ship too.

Just a note that I have been advised against the far forward Verandahs with the 270 degree views (5026 and 5526) because they are very windy when the ship is moving. That might not bother some people, but I hate wind and couldn't deal with it!

Our family has stayed in 9176 on the Dream. There was some vibration especially during maneuvers in port. We determined after the 5 night cruise that we would stay in the same location again. Because of that decision, we currently have room 9184 booked over Labor Day weekend on the Wish. We also have 9674 booked on the Fantasy in December of 2024.

We like the location, not only for views in port, but also where the room is in relation to the rest of the ship.

Look up 5052. It's forward/port side and it has a massive balcony. I have it booked for my next cruise but haven't sailed on it yet.

Totally fair critique. I certainly won’t be playing cards on our sea days. But the view and extended space are unbeatable. The extended aft verandahs are great for wind protection as they’re so enclosed. Especially on floors where the verandah above you sticks out further above you.
