Hi everyone,

My son is turning 3 on the Disney Dream in January and I just want to make it extra special for him while still maintaining our budget.

I looked online and noticed several room decoration options. I was wondering, can I bring my own and decorate the interior of the room myself?

Also I noticed they sell Mickey Cakes, are they worth it or should we just do the regular celebration with the included dessert?

& Lastly any extra special things you guys recommend that have done in the past or know about that I can do for him and the kids would be greatly appreciated. Someone told me if you bring a pillow case that the characters will sign it if you leave at guest services.... is this true for any item or just pillow cases?

Thanks again everyone!

Yes, you can bring your own decorations. One note, you cannot use any adhesive materiel to put them up (tape, for example). Magnets are OK.

On the birthday, the birthday boy will get a chocolate mousse-type cake and the servers singing Happy Birthday.

They will also supply "it's my birthday" type buttons, but I'd suggest you visit Guest Services that morning to get them early. That way all the CMs he encounters during the day will say happy birthday.

You can no longer drop off items at Guest Services to be signed. This stopped about 2 years ago. However, you can bring the item to the various meet & greets and the characters will sign them there.

Bring your own decor! Walls and ceilings are metal, so you can hang things with magnets. No adhesives though. You can also decorate your door. Again, you can use magnets.

I don't see any need to order a cake. We've had the celebration dessert and enjoyed it. Maybe get a special treat at Vanelopie's. Let your servers know which day you want to celebrate.

You should be able to get a birthday button from guest services.

Dropping off items at guest services was an unofficial thing that is no longer done. You can bring one with you to meet and greets. Another idea would be a photo mat to which you can add a birthday picture from on board. Or even a birthday card that you can add to a scrapbook.

Have a great time and feel free to ask any questions!
