Disney Dream August 7, 2011

Still keeping my fingers crossed that there will be ressies left when I board. If not I will be crawling over the reservations desk there to get on the list on our sea day! Nothing can keep me from my pizza, my crab legs, the cheeses, and that dessert table. You know Cookie Monster? I am Palo Monster.

Ditto.., I want that brunch!!!

*LOL*, Belle...being excited to take the nieces is constructive enough! You are also lucky in that you get to give them back at the end of the cruise and let their parents deal with how grumpy they will be at the end...

Also, Belle - was it you who was at least semi-interested in seeing Book of Mormon on Broadway? The cast album came out last week and hilarious is not even the word. You must listen.

Yeah, I totally want to see it. I used to go to NY and see shows all the time... but there's just too much going on now for me to do much... aside from go on vacation of course!

Last trip I sorta wanted to give the younger one back before the trip was over. :rolleyes1 Hopefully she is a little more mature now. Hopefully I also learned a few things last time that will make this trip go better. For all of her drama the last couple days... she still really wanted to go back to WDW. It's really neat having all those shared memories with them from last trip- and of course there should be even more this time!

You can at least listen to the music while doing all the other things you need to get done :) Of course, if you're willing to wait I'm always open for making people special FE gift CDs... pirate:

How old is the younger kiddo now? Sometimes a year or two can make such a huge difference, especially once they get near middle school age. I am still always AMAZED at how different my sixth graders are at the end of the year as opposed to the beginning..personalities and priorities always change so much ;)

She turns 10 next week. Everyone is all dramatic about how she will be 10.... well, I've been planning this trip for over a year... and entering her age as 10 on all sorts of online forms... so it seems like she has already been 10 for quite a long time. :lmao:

I feel like such a slacker because I haven't gotten her a birthday present yet and her party is this wknd; but if push comes to shove, I suppose I can count the cruise as a birthday present for both girls. Or just give cash- they are at ages where they love getting money. ;)

I'm so excited for them- they love swimming and beaches so I just know they're going to have an amazing time. Last trip when we took ME to the airport, they had something about DCL- my older niece made a random, semi-wistful comment about how she bet it was expensive... which set the idea in motion.

I vote on giving them "on-board credit" for a special souvenir on board the ship. Would the older girl like the Dooney wristlets? 'Cause, um, I totally just made a friend buy me one while we was on the maiden voyage to Alaska. I don't want to waste any time waiting for the ship to leave port on that first day :mickeyjum...There are so many fun things to buy on the boat...

Or what about a Disney gift card? My DD loved having her own "credit card" to buy souveineirs...

They're really not into that kind of thing- and the older one is pretty much anti-anything popular. I, otoh... :rolleyes1 Well, they say a picture is worth 1000 words...

Even my littlest kitten loves Dooney. :) (photo was taken within the past week)

I'll figure something out- it's just a little tricky to tie something birthday related to the cruise because the older one has her birthday 10 days after we get back home. (last trip, we spent her birthday in WDW- which was great but it was so close to school starting that the girls were doubly sad when it was ending)

Um, hello. I would like your kitten for my next birthday, please.

And - as evidenced by my DIS name and avatar - I'm not even a cat person. ;) FWIW, Mac the Wonder Corgi does happen to like cats, so he'd be cool with this gift.

Thanks. :) My niece would love the kitten too... but their other cats probably would not. ;)

Since I don't want to be accused of favoring one kitty over the other... here's my other little kitten:

Oh god. Now I'm dying of cute. I can't counter with much, but I'll give it a go... here's Mac last weekend trying to look as stylish as all the former brides while we got ready for our photo shoot!

...and with that it's time for bed. No making 30 posts in a row tomorrow and stealing my pirate, jla!

Hi everyone,

My family will also be going on this cruise. It will be myself - Michelle, my DH George, my DS Tyler (15) and my DD Samantha (12). My friend Tracy will also be joing us along with her DS Alex (12). This will be our 5th Disney Cruise and Tracy's 1st. We are all so excited and cannot wait. We would both love to join the FE group.

Hi and welcome! I'll add you to the list and PM you with how to access our site that has all the details on on it. Would you mind also PMing me, or just posting here, your cabin numbers so I know where to drop off your FE gifts? :)

How adorable!

Belle-you are the best aunt ever. My aunt took me to wdw from Ohio when I was in 3rd and it was awesome

So its our first time on a Disney Cruise and today was the first day I was able to book excursions (I think)....

Well cabanas sold out.. Tandem Jet skis sold out...

For those who have had previous experience, do they leave some reservations open or are there other means to get a cabana or on the jet skis?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yes. You can go to excursion desk once you board. You can also check on a daily bases because some one may cancel and then there is an opening. Also once you board you can go to the adult district to get any Palo or Remy reservations. I am waiting to do my spa days to see the daily specials most on port days. I got an awesome discount on the villas last time because I did it on a port day.

Good Luck! We have all had pixie dust so far, so I bet your wish will come true. Are the jet skis sold out on both CC days? I bet you will be able to book the day of. The cabanas will be hard to snag, but I would check daily.
