Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

Alright, alright!! I'm powering down the laptop/off the DIS now so my oldest and I can make some magnets:)

You're already hooked! :goodvibes It's so great to see excitement with our new DISers! Not that we aren't excited...it's just that ours has been spread out over a long time...:rolleyes1...We here on the DIS really like doing all the fun little stuff...like FEs and magnets...so enjoy!

The Mango Rum Run...started probably a year ago...by someone mentioning another family member buying Mango Rum in Nassau. I think that we were all a little freezing and in hibernation mode in our home states...and the thought of Mango Rum...sounded really good! So it turned into the "Mango Rum Run" and there are some longer versions of the title. Some of us will be in bedazzled Minnie ears looking like mouseketeers! The basics...we are going to meet at 10AM on the dock at Nassau. The ship docks at 9:30AM...We have not set a concrete meeting location yet. Then we are going to go together into Nassau...hit Hard Rock...some liquor stores for some Mango Rum...maybe Senior Frogs...it's just like a short DIS excursion. Then some have other excursions to go on...some of us will return to the ship...whatever you have planned. It is just going to be silly, fun! :yay:

About ordering an FE...if you go to ebay...grady'smommy has a fast turn around time and she is reasonable. She also makes personalized pillow cases...that you can take and drop off at Guest Services...and the characters to sign for your kids...they are then returned to your cabin on the last night...they turn out really cool! :thumbsup2

Let us know if you have any more questions...someone will have an answer!

Happy Thursday to All!

Starting to get a little excited! Lets see those tickers everyone!!!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome!! ( need it, it's FREEZING in Mi:scared1:) Very excited about the upcoming cruise and all the fun this pirate: group is going to add to our cruise! I've been to craft stores today, we are going to start on the magnets tonight:thumbsup2 If I can stop reading the board, I'm working on getting a FE, if it's too late to order online, I'm going to make one like was posted with the cuties on it. Thanks for that great ! Now that, I can do! :wizard:

Is the ::MinnieMo Rum thing a tasting, a party, or are you ladies/gents mixologist:stir: :)

38 day till :sail: I will be :worship: the sun :cool2:!!!!!

:cool2:

Welcome 54DisneyFun!!!! I saw that you already got responses to your questions. It is going to be so much fun!!! My Mom is going with me and my kids (long story...DH didn't want to go on a cruise so my Mom is going, but then DH went on the 2-night cruise to nowhere with us and is now hooked....which means I get to book another cruise while on board :thumbsup2 ) So my Mom will be with the kids on the ship so that I can enjoy the Mango Rum Run on my own :cool1: But I will bring her back some Mango Rum and we plan to just spend the rest of that day on the ship.

Have fun with the magnets!! My whole refridgerator is covered in mine right now :rotfl2: I will have to rotate some because I made too many, LOL.

I ordered by FE from Gradysmommy (I think that is the name) on eBay and it turned out awesome!!!

Starting to get a little excited! Lets see those tickers everyone!!!

1 month, 1 week and 3 days, but whose counting? Oh yeah.....I AM :rotfl2:

We keep seeing the commercials on TV for DCL and it just makes me more excited every time we see one.

It also doesn't help that we have been going down to the port on the weekends and watching the Wonder pull out on its way to the MR :lmao: Everytime I hear that horn, I get more and more excited about our trip!!

Oh, yeah totally hooked! I  the info I'm getting and seeing other adults excited about :mickeyjum ! ...It's not just me thank goodness!

Crystal, thanks for sending me (and anyone who needs a FE STAT!) the name of an ebay dealer you know about. I should hear from "bonnysews" today but if not, now I've got a great back up!:thumbsup2

We are going to the Lagoon Beach Day :cool2: while in port at Nassau, has anyone done that and how was it? We were goig to do Atlantis again but thought we'd try something new:) Does anyone know if it only has one start time for the LBD? They have 2 different times for coming back to the boat but they don't say they have more than one start time. Mango Rum sounds yummy and would surely warm me up! Glad the cruise is around the corner:yay:

:surfweb:How do you personalize your page and does it come up like that all the time or do you have to set it up each post? :confused3

ONLY 37 DAY 11 HOURS & 24 MINUTES TILL CRUISE:eek: I need to finish packing:banana:

Don't know anything about the Lagoon Beach Day excursion...sorry! :upsidedow

As far as personalizing the bottom of your page...you need to go into the "Quick Links" up top...or your account info for the boards...and you can add a signature. The tickers on the bottom can be found on one of the DISes main pages...you simply create a ticker and copy/paste it into your signature. You can also write stuff...or put pictures in. I am saying all of this as something simple...but it can be quite confusing and complicated. If you get stuck...ask us and we can help. Be sure to check out what your signature looks like on a posting...because the signature will only hold a certain amount of info. Let us know how it goes! :thumbsup2

With just over a month (37 days) til we leave for Florida we're here in Illinois waiting for another storm....5-8 inches!!! I am so sick of winter but the annual Disney cruise makes it much more bearable. We had a wild week with DS (11) making a trip to the ER on Sunday with appendicitis and surgery that same nite. He got released on Monday and back to school on Tues!!! Truly amazing. They did it laproscopically which although still required being put under is less invasive, one incision through the belly button. I am just relieved we did not run into this while on the cruise. He is recovering well and we're all returning our focus to the upcoming trip. I think it was Jetskigrl that said she was traveling with 2 kids and her mom...that is us as well. My husband was in the Navy (submariner) so he did not want to to the whole cruise thing so I am taking my mom. My mom has been working on the FE gifts and next up is our FE...good thing she is crafty because I am not.
We are doing excursions to Atlantis for the dolphin encounter and spending some time wandering there. My mom and I also have spa ressies that morning before we head out for the excursions. We are getting excited and getting ready to pull out the summer wear to see what we need to shop for.

****any plans for a DIS meeting yet? I cant wait to put names and faces together.

Found ebay sewing goddess!!!:wizard: Thanks again Crystal!!:thumbsup2 Picking out all the goodies tomorrow, excited!!

Happy Friday! :dance3:

Woosh - I am so glad that your DS is doing well! What a week you all have had! :upsidedow On the flip side...sounds like your cruise and FE plans are in place and you guys are ready to roll! I am hoping for beautiful warm weather for our cruise! This cold stuff has got to go! :goodvibes

As far as a cruise DISmeets...yes, we are planning one. However; I have been waiting for someone on the main board to give us an idea of a good time and place. I haven't seen a thing yet. If anyone sees or reads anything...let us know...we still have time on this one...:cutie:

54disneyfun - Congrats on getting that FE ordered! Now the fun part...picking out what to give! Have fun! :yay:

Enjoy your Friday!

Wow, Woosh, I'm so glad your DS is alright--how scary! I cannot believe how quickly recovery time is. Definitely a blessing that it happened now with time to fully recover before the trip. Thanks for taking the hit for us on this last storm, we had a near miss on that one! ;) Monday's looking like a possible snow day AGAIN for us--we shall see!

54disneyfun--welcome to the group! Another Michigander--the rest of the group is being overrun by us! :thumbsup2 Sounds like your plans are going full speed ahead! How old are your kids?

I am so happy that they lowered the height requirement on the duck! I'm still holding off telling DS5 to make sure it is definite--he was crushed the first time I told him he couldn't go & I'm not going to get his hopes up till we know!

Our tickers are getting closer & closer--hard to believe we're 5 weeks out! Time to start digging out the boys shorts & seeing what still fits! :thumbsup2

Hi all. Sorry I haven't been on, it's been a hard week. I had to say goodbye to my dog that I have had since College. She came back to the states with me after I graduated, and was a loyal companion. :guilty:

Anyway, welcome to all the newcomers! I think this is going to be an awesome cruise with some awesome people, and boy do I need it!

Yippee, our documents came today, has anyone else received theirs??

Yikes - how scary for your DS. I'm so glad that he is doing better now!!!

Yep, it is me that is travelling with my Mom. The kids are really looking forward to this trip with their Mimi :)

Oh no :( I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. {{{{hugs}}}}

Oh cool!! We haven't gotten ours yet. Hopefully we will soon!

OK, I have some good news to share. So I may have told you that the last couple of weeks I have been stressing about the kids getting their Science Fair projects done (DS's was due last Tuesday and DD's is due next Friday). I knew it was standing between us and our trip in April so I just wanted it over with :rotfl2:

Well, after fighting us all the way, DS did get his done and turned in. Then on Wednesday he told us that his teacher picked his as one of three that would be in the "Hall of Fame" to represent his classroom. This also meant that he had to do an Oral presentation of it in front of the judges (two adults that he didn't know). Well, the assembly was this morning and we were sent a note saying that the kids in the Hall of Fame would be presented with a certificate and that the winners would be announced (hint, hint parents...you need to be there, LOL).

Well, darned if my son didn't win First Place for the 2nd Grade! His project will now be sent to the District Science Fair where he will go up against the winners of the 2nd Grade for the other schools. :thumbsup2 I'm so proud of my little guy. He struggles so much in school and sees his sister constantly getting Honor Roll, etc. Ths was just what he needed to be reminded that he can do well also :)

pirate: EcbLovesMickey - I am so sorry for the loss of you dog! :grouphug: It is always hard to say "Good-Bye" to a dear pet. Now you have great memories to hang on to...that's the best part...We always reminisce about our past cats...we have some great stories, too! :thumbsup2

pirate: jetskigrl - Congrats to your son on the 1st place in the Science Fair! :yay: Isn't it great to see the second child be able to match-up and find their own way to show how great they are! Way to go!!!

pirate: rcraw45425 - We got our travel docs today, too! Let the countdown begin! Well, for some of us...we have been counting for over 400 days! :scared1:

pirate: To FE Participants - I also received a huge box in the mail today...and I am not going to tell what's inside!!! :upsidedow And yes, I go way overboard with the FE gifts...And I do deliver about three times...And have to pack an extra bag for everything...But I'm not the only one! No worries (Hakuna Matata) everything packs down flat for the trip home! :rolleyes1

pirate: Kanga+2Roos - Thanks for reminding me about checking out the short sizes for the kids! I also need to check on their khaki pant sizes also...Both boys have grown since fall. :goodvibes

princess: Crystal

Great reminder on checking the summer clothes sizes. I think my oldest will be ok, but I don't know about my youngest. She has went through 2 sizes this school year.
Haven't received our documents yet, but hopefully soon. That is when you know it is coming soon.
Can't wait to meet everyone.

Hi everyone, here in the midwest we woke up to snow today - I am so ready for the beach!!!!

Woosh, glad to hear your son is ok, that's really scary.

54disneyfun, what are that ages of your kids? I'm gathering ideas for FE gifts.

EcbLovesMickey, so sorry about your dog, the loss of a pet is so hard.

Jetskigirl, congrats on your son getting first place in science fair, my son had his this week too.

rcraw45425, so lucky to get your documents! Mine haven't come in yet.

Now for my question: how fancy do you dress for formal night? I wasn't planning on going all out but was reading a thread over on the main page and people posted what they wore on formal and semiformal night. Now I'm thinking I need to seriously look for something with some major bling!

Carla:hippie:

Just wanted to say that we had a wonderful evening and I'm glad we were able to make it! Have a great weekend! I'm off to bed, dreams of tropical weather, water, sand, and oh yeah...rum drinks :)

pirate: Mozposse - Here is what I found on the DCL website regarding attire for the four-night cruise...

On 4-night cruises:

* First night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
* One pirate or tropical night (deck party)
* One "dress-up night"—jacket for men, dress or pantsuit for women
* Final night: cruise casual—no shorts, swimwear or tank top

Now with this in mind...you will see every kind of dress on "Dress-up night." On the longer 7 night cruises...people usually really get dressed up...like tuxes for men and long gowns for women. On the shorter cruises...most of the time...people do not get as dressed up...but you will see some. You will also see some totally dressed down, too! :upsidedow

pirate: The Michigan crews got together again! :dance3: I am so jealous! I am very happy for 54disneyfun to get to meet-up with some of you, though! :thumbsup2

pirate: Happy Saturday to All! We are off to two baseball practices...in 40 degree weather! Yesterday it was 70...go figure??? :confused3

Yes, I discovered that DontRushMe and 54disneyfun both live within about 10-15 miles of our house AND is turns out DontRushMe and 54Disneyfun are next door neighbors on the cruise! So we did a last minute casual dinner at our house. Yay! popcorn::

We should definitely all meet up on the boat. Maybe once we see a good navigator from March we can pick a happening in one of the lounges to meet at? Last time we tried meeting at the Mickey pool and that did not work out - we couldn't find each other, no place to sit, etc.

Regarding FE gifts, Crystal I'm out to top your efforts! I have a ridiculous amount of stuff!!! I can't wait to deliver it all.

Would anyone be interested in meeting up for a drink in Pink some evening? I think that place looks cool and my husband is not a drinker so I'd have to go alone.

Looked at fancy dresses today that were well out of my price range. But a girl can Dream can't she?
