Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

There are so many awesome new pictures and clips about The Dream. I am so excited to be there in person! So to get us in the mood it's QUESTION TIME!!!!

What is the ONE thing you most want a finished picture of?
For me, it's the bathroom... lol, they never show stuff like that and I want to know what I'm dealing with. After that I would say the Nemo Reaf and the Small world nursery

My turn!!! I want to see a picture of the swimming pools! We are such sun and swim folks...and are really hoping that Disney makes major improvements to the top decks...We shall see! :goodvibes

BTW...we survived the baseball weekend. Came in third in the state for Nations 10U baseball...not bad...no more games until spring...yah!!!

We are excited to be traveling on the April 3, 2011 Disney Dream. We are new to cruising Disney and will be traveling together with our son (4 years).

I am very interested in getting in touch with our families that have either cruised before and have any tips that they are willing to share. I have read about a FE List as well as Fish Extender. We would love to join in. Thanks.

pirate: Hi Patty! And welcome to our April 3rd sailing of the Disney Dream! pirate:

We have a great group of DISers here...some have cruised...some are new to cruising...some live up north...others live down south...some are close to WDW...and others are close to DL... We all have the Mouse in common, though! :goodvibes

If you take a look at our first page of this thread you will find the various pages of where to find info. about the FE exchange...info. about our cruise DISigns for magnets...and other information. I will add you all to our list shortly...

Again, welcome to our sailing! Feel free to ask any questions...someone around here will have the answers! :cool2:

Welcome Patty (from another Patti, LOL)! We haven't cruised before either but we will be doing the 2-night mini cruise on the Wonder in January so at least we will have a little experience before the Dream cruise.

Welcome to the group!!!!

Let's get a new question going...

If you could sail on the Dream to ANY port, where would you like to go?

I would love to sail into Sydney Harbor, past the Opera house!

I would love for the Dream to do a closed-loop Hawaiian Islands sailing! I know that this would never happen...because the ship has to touch another country every time it sails...due to some regulation that I know nothing about...but Hawaii would be fabulous to sail around! :goodvibes

So...how is everyone doing? I have been shopping like crazy for Christmas! Got great deals yesterday at Macy's for many relatives...although I had to use all those coupons...and check-out at a different register each time (you are only supposed to use one-a-day.) It was fun though! :thumbsup2

Happy Wednesday to All!

Ports??? You mean the ships stop??? Bahahahahaha - I'm just so excited to be cruising for the first time that I don't even need to stop anywhere. Oh, wait....that is exactly what we are doing for our first cruise....a 2-night cruise to nowhere :rotfl::rotfl:

Things have been not so good around here. Work sucks right now and I just found out a friend of the family passed away on Monday night. So I am ready for a little Disney Magic (or Wonder and Dream to be specific) to take my mind off of things.

We are probably going to spend this Saturday at Disneyland taking in all the Holiday events. That should brighten my mood quite a bit ;)

Thanks for sharing that video...hadn't seen that one yet. Kind of neat to see the pools...again...one of our favorite places to be on a ship! :thumbsup2

I haven't been posting too much...sorry! :sad2: Been busy Christmas shopping and wrapping up our ball season. I decked the halls today...well the inside of the house. We'll do the outside on Friday. Oh, and have been busy planning out our Disney trip. The touring plans site keeps changing the crowd numbers...well if you consider going from a 10 to 9 much of a change! Anyhow...I guess we will be refining our touring plans up until we go. Our main plan is to get there early...do as much as possible...then go back to the resort...relax...and then take in the night life at each park. We shall see! :goodvibes

popcorn:: Happy Thanksgiving! popcorn::

I hope that everyone has a great turkey day!

Well, the tree is up and the boxes of ornaments and decorations are lining our hallway, so it must be holiday time!

I cannot wait to tell the kids about our cruise! During the Thanksgiving parade when Captain Mickey floated by and they were talking about the new Dream ship my oldest got so excited, apparently he didn't know Disney even had cruise ships! LOL, boy will he be surprised Xmas morning!

I hope everyone is having a good holiday season so far. Now that Thanksgiving is behind us we have to clean the house from top to bottom as the in-laws will soon be invading.

Hey! Nothing new here! I just thought I'd get your attention...anyone out there??? :sail: I feel like Mickey Mouse when he is in the dark with only his eyes appearing!

I hope that everyone is doing well! EcbLovesMickey...and others who are planning on surprising the kids for Christmas...did you see the thread on the main cruise boards about how to surprise the kids...there are some great ideas out there! :thumbsup2

I'm here...I'm here :yay::yay::yay:

I am getting so excited about Christmas. I can't believe that I kept the secret from the kids for so long, LOL. I am almost done with my shopping so I will be anxiously awaiting the big day so that I can tell them.

My DS is getting a video camera for Christmas (good timing). I am going to have that thing all charged up and ready to go so the first video on it will be their reaction to the cruise (good or bad....since my DS changed his mind and decided that he doesn't want to go on a cruise ship now because the horns are too loud, :lmao:) I'm going to have to wrap a package of ear plugs in with his surprise, LOL.

 4 MONTHS!!!

:yay: Yes I am out here too!! We are also requesting a video camera and new still camera from santa this year. Perfect for using on a cruise vacation! :) I am meeting my friend tomorrow to put the finishing touches on our pirate costumes. pirate: Can't wait!!! Lots of snow and ice here today! Have a safe winter!! Still no flight down to Florida although we have had our return trip book for months now. Getting worried!

Yes, there are people out there! :goodvibes I know that the anticipation for some of you about Christmas morning and surprising the kids is building! They are going to be thrilled! jetskigrl - let your son know that the DCL horn is not as loud as other cruise ship horns...it plays a tune...and they always warn you ahead of time about the horn going off...:thumbsup2 Glad to hear that so many people are getting new video cameras and such...we always take our videos and still photos and make a total vacation video out of them. The kids love to watch them! Dawn - there has got to be some kind of deal soon on your flight down...maybe after the holidays pass they will put out something. I know that the cruise industry has been slashing prices like crazy for 2010 holiday sailings...anyhow...something will work out! :yay:

:scared1: Snow and Ice!!! :scared1: Here today it started out at 28 degrees...yesterday it was 67 degrees...however...no snow in sight!

Ohhh, that is great to know Crystal! How do they warn you? It will really ease my DS's mind to know that it won't be that loud :thumbsup2 So I know it will help him if I can tell him how it will be done in advance.

Although I have a feeling that he will forget all about the horn once he finds out that sailing on the ship is a reality!!!

They come over a loud speaker and announce it. On a ship...they have communications with all guests via these loud speakers...and they even have one in your cabin. The captain will come on and make announcements for the day or evening...the cruise director will come on and announce different activities and such. It's great! Most of them are from other countries and they have the neatest accents! Oh...and for most of the announcements a little "ding" sound is made prior to the person speaking...kind of cool!

Awesome...Thanks!!! I think he is worried that he will be up on the top deck and the horn will go off and scare him like crazy, LOL. It will certainly make him feel better to know that it will be announced before they blow the horns.
