Hi all, busy with the holidays here too. I am sure I mentioned that dd is dancing in the Orange Bowl Half time show in Jan so we are gearing up for a trip to FL to visit Grandma and Grandpa and then to Miami for that

Surprising our kids with a DIsney trip last Dec was one of the best things we have done. And we have been to Disney plenty. It was so great. I wish we had kept the cruise a secret, or astleast the 2nd cruise, since we are doing b2b. Have fun telling them!

Getting really excited to plan for the cruise. Can't wait! We will actually be able to book exursions, etc the night we are at the Orange Bowl, so ending one trip and starting planning for the next, just the way I like it!

That is so exciting! My DH and I used to be on the board for the Jr. Orange Bowl Parade. It was such a blast! We used to get all the dancers and bands whose teams were in the Orange bowl to march as well. There are always so many talented kids!

That is so cool! We were wondering if they had a parade. DD is pretty excited. We still haven't gotten the dance yet though.

I am not sure if they still hold it or not, especially with the current economic conditions. A friend of ours was the chairperson for several years and that's how we got pulled in... errr...involved

FISH EXTENDER UPDATE​

We are getting closer to closing the FE list (February 28th). If you are intersted in pariticapting with us and you have not yet sent me a PM, please considering doing so, the more the merrier! No gift is too small, it's all for fun! And your family will have many fun trinkets to take home with you. All ages may participate. All you need is any sort of pouch to hang from your fish post outside your cabin door. There are many threads on the disboards for more info or you can ask here!

A new list will be emailed out the first week of 2011. I will be asking for confirmed return emails at that time. There are a few people who signed up way back.... and I have not seen them appear on the boards since. I know people get busy but I also wonder if a few people changed their cruising date and need to be removed from the list. So watch for that confirmation letter along with the new list in early January. Meanwhile I am sending PM's to the people I still need to hear from.

I do check Spirit every day but so far the good deals are only through March 16th so far, we are keeping are fingers crossed that something will come up soon! Thanks!

I just got my information packet for our 2012 cruise on the Fantasy and our payment is due Xmas eve 2011.... It will be a lean Xmas next year I guess....

Speaking of which, how many of you are using your Disney cards to pay for the vacation? I wish they would make one with the cruise logo on it, or at least Captain Mickey since the bulk of my charges have been to DCL!!! lol

Hi Cindy! Thanks for the update on the FE exchange! I believe that your list is up to date...I don't see the folks on it who had to cancel their cruises. Some of the people haven't been on the boards in a while...so I guess we will see what happens in the New Year. Maybe when we get close to the final date in February, you could send out an email to get everyone to confirm their participation...just a thought...


Hi EcbLovesMickey! I was supposed to be using my Disney Rewards Points for our cruise...but ended up purchasing many items from Disneystore.com for Christmas...or myself! It would be great to see a card with something DCL on it! Right now I have TinkerBell...before I had Mickey with two other characters...before that I had a red card with Mickey's head on it...way too long ago! Love that card, though!


Christmas is fast approaching! Are the stockings hung? Is the tree trimmed? Have you wrapped those presents? How about...have you purchased that Mango Rum for yourself??? You know...to help deal with the in-laws and such!

I am one of those cruisers who has not checked in on the boards in awhile. But all four of us are still in for the FE!! So keep us on the list. I just got done finalizing travel arrangements for our trip. As usual can't just go on the cruise, added 5 nights at WDW! We got a good deal (a few months ago) on our plane tickets to Florida (mind you "good", not "great") and just bought our tickets back home but not a good deal, but price kept going up so I got them before they went up more. That past few trips have been without those wonderful fares that made going to Florida inexpensive. Oh well! At least we got room discounts for WDW and we had nonexpiring park hopper passes so that helped. We're all getting excited for this trip and I love reading whatever updates there are on the Dream and photos. We even found our room in the photos that were labeled with room #s. Deck 7 aft! Can't wait until we get to make our excursion reservations. Only doing things on CC, keeping to the ship in Nassau. We have 2nd seating...anyone else? At first I was concerned but decided after our last cruise this will work better for us. As we have been hit head long into winter, 18 degrees with snow on the ground, I am so glad we booked this cruise for spring break. It will get me through this winter!
Here's wishing all a happy holiday season, and much fun in all those cruise surprises Christmas morning! My kids have always asked to know about our trips as they like to be part of the planning and my DS LOVES countdowns.

Just wanted to note that I was able to do my online booking for the 4/3 cruise as of 12/4. If anyone has any questions about what's available or cost, I should be able to find it out. I have Palo's for this cruise and will try to get Remy's on the next b2b cruise (4/7). I might give these up as the rotational dining resturants are all new on the dream. It's a good thing we are doing a B2B cruise.

You all up North must be totally freezing! Cause here on the east coast we are freezing...and can you believe it was 27 degrees in Miami today...How about a cruise???

Hey All,
Just as an FYI, I received an email from Country Inn & Suites Manager (I was asking a question about the port shuttle) and he informed me that April 1st is the beginning of the launch window for the Space Shuttle. So there is a slight chance that we will be able to see a launch while we are there. I know it is always hit or miss on when the shuttle actually goes up...but that would be really cool

But, that also means that hotels in the port area may be hard to find. I did a check on CI&S and it was full already (but there was availability at the Raddison). Anyway, just something to be aware of, I guess.

We are still here and very excited for the cruise. The snow has finally come to Upper Michigan. We have been getting hit the last couple of days. I am at the ski hill watching my daughters downhill ski race practice. It is definately winter. Can't wait until the cruise. It will be nice to feel the hot sun again. Hope everyone is well. Very busy with Christmas around the corner. Can't wait to feel the hot Florida sunshine. I always miss the sun when winter rolls around.

Hey - I'll keep you guys posted on the shuttle launch. My husband works for NASA...in the exact department that says - go or no go. So we usually have a heads-up before the media does. Interesting aspect...we have never seen a shuttle launch. Mainly due to the delays and such. It would be really awesome to get to see one!

We are also at the Radisson and on the first shuttle to port. (10am?) Glad we didn't wait to book our room! Guess we will see you there! Our plan is to hang out on Sat at the pool.

OK...just rub it in, LOL. I just found out our flight got pushed back 1/2 hour on that day so we won't arrive until 4:30 pm anyway. I don't know know how far the airport is from the port but I am guessing we won't be there until dinnertime. But given the time difference and two excited kids...we will probably be up late that night anyway, LOL. Now I just need to find a place to eat that night.

Does anyone have suggestions for Limo companies to use from the airport to the hotel? We are using DCL transport to get back to the airport, but I am going to spring for a Limo as a surprise for the kids when we arrive in Florida.

I'm sorry...I was thinking that you all could just drop in at the Radisson and join all of us in the fun! Your flight kind of screws up an afternoon pool party...but you never know!


As far as your questions...don't know anything about the limo companies. It takes 1 hour to get from Disney to Cocoa Beach...so I would assume it would take about 45 minutes to get to Cocoa Beach from the airport. My recommendation on restaurants would be Florida Seafood. It's a great restaurant, very kid friendly...the only problem is that if you guys are arriving later into the Cocoa Beach area...the waiting lines to get in are going to be longer. I think that that will happen at any of the restaurants, though. There are also some other restaurants near the port...Reef Grille, Fish Lips...and there's one more...can't remember the name...
