Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

Woo Hoo - August is almost here!! I received our luggage tags from ME yesterday now I am getting really excited about that trip. But I am trying to not wish July away too fast. I love having the kids out of school. The evenings are so much more relaxed without the homework hassle, LOL.

Michelle - we are going to have to figure out a way to recognize one another at the Dessert Party :cool1:

After August, I will be in full-blown cruise planning mode ;-) I am still reading the cruise theads but trying to stay focused on our WDW trip for now. So much Disney, so little time

So, ya think we should wear bejeweled mouse ears or something to attract each other's attention? Hmm, that would be way to obvious, right?:rotfl: Hey, I know! I will be the one at the dessert buffet with a plate loaded full of brownies!! Haha! How about I send a picture of my family? Just send me your email!!
I am loving my kids home too so want July to just creep by slowly, but it seems like after the 4th time just gets away from us and be fore you know it August has arrived. (Which is a good thing as August means WDW!!) Can not wait to be back!! And then there is the cruise to keep the magic going!! I have even started looking at flights! It is all coming together and I am so excited!

After much debate and pondering I made the leap to book this cruise! Couldn't resist after our WONDERful cruise this past spring. Now we're DREAMing of the next one! Funny but add us to the DECK 7 crowd. our second cruise and we booked a room with a verandah, at this point we didn't have much choice as 6b is the lowest cat available, but we're excited about it.
This is my DD (14) 2nd cruise and my DS (11) first. We will probably just enjoy the ship in Nassau. We are looking forward to Castaway Cay by far my favorite part of the cruise. The ship looks to be amazing and can't wait to see pictures and cruise reports once it starts sailing in January. We are also on booked for 2nd seating dinner but waitlisted for 1st. I agree I felt rushed for 1st seating we had on last cruise but can't imagine eating so late. I did like going to the shows on a full tummy. But if 2nd seating is what we get we will go smiling and may find it works better. Here's to 9 more months of DREAMing!

Hi Woosh!! I think we are all alone up in deck 9, but we have second seating for dinner! And, we have a 14 year old daughter and two sons, 11 and 13 at sailing time! Hopefully, our kids can get to know each other and hang out! Take care and happy sailing! So glad you are onboard!!

OK, PM sent :-) LOL - the bejeweled mouse ears sounds like a fun idea :rotfl2:

Still around. Looking forward to the cruise. Wish summer would come. It has been in the 70s here :(

:tink: I know that I pixie-dusted some warm/hot weather to someone last week...however...it has remained with us. :confused3 We have had consistent 100 degree weather for over a week now...with most days the heat index of 110! :scared1: The sirens have been going off every so often and a loud speaker details the threat of the extreme heat. We hope for a reprieve in the next few days...still no signs of rain, though. :sad2: Anyone who would like this warm weather...it is up for grabs! Come take it! It's free! :goodvibes

pirate: Welcome to our sailing Woosh! We have a great group of DISers that have joined this thread/cruise! I can't wait to see how extensive our FE list is going to be and how many people show up for the DISmeets onboard! :cutie:

:smickey: I am so excited! We are thinking about our next WDW vacation! We are deciding between October and Thanksgiving and Christmas and January School Break...Lot's of research to do!!! :upsidedow

:earsboy: To Michelle and Jetskigrl - Go for the bejeweled mouse ears! Stylish and yet very appropriate for a Disney gathering! I think that it is great that you all are getting to meet this August! :thumbsup2

I hope that everyone is having a great week! Has anyone had a chance to check out Disney Store Online? They have had some great deals lately!

Just found out about the whole Cruise Meets thing here... so I figured I'd pop on to say hi.

We'll be on the April 3, 2011 - 4 night cruise aboard the Dream as well. We're booked in a GTY Category 8B room... although I JUST realized that after being booked for nearly 5 months. I could have SWORN we chose a room at the time of our booking but... I guess not.

Anyway... there are 5 of us.

Myself - 32 at the time of the cruise.
My wife - 30 at the time of the cruise.
Oldest son - 11 at the time of the cruise.
Oldest daughter - 5 at the time of the cruise.
Youngest daughter - 4 at the time of the cruise.

We will be celebrating our 7th anniversary (April 4, 2004) aboard the cruise as well as celebrating our first cruise ever, Disney or otherwise.

I'd love to hear from others here about their experiences in past cruises and possibly get to know some of you to meet up with while we're aboard the ship.

Let me know what, if any other details you need to know... I'd be more than happy to share!

mjvans~ that is great we have kids of the same age. on our last cruise my dtr was chatting with 2 girls on the cruise through FB before the cruise. one girl and her family ended up being our table mates and we didn't even coordinate it. Pretty cool how things worked out. it took my daughter until the 3rd and 4th nite to take to the teen club but she ended up enjoying it alot and can't wait to go again. My son didn't cruise with us on our last trip (he didn't think he'd like being on a boat but after he heard all we did he made sure he made it known he was going on this one). I think he will love the kids club...I hope he can do the Oceaneers lab and not just the tween club. He likes activities.

My son, my mom, an aunt and I are going to WDW in October (21-25) for the Mickeys not so scary halloween party. This will be our 3rd time. It is our favorite special event at WDW. The Boo to you parade is awesome.

I love the Dis boards I learned so much from it before the last cruise.

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:
Glad you could join us!

Cruising is an awesome vacation! It's like an all-inclusive resort plus you get to go to different places aboard a ship that has something for everyone! Never a dull moment! :upsidedow I know that our DISmeets group will be planning a time for everyone on this board to meet and greet onboard the ship. We also are forming a list now for the FE gift exchange (Please ask if you need more info.) And many of us want to go on a "Mango Rum Run" in the Bahamas! pirate:

Again, welcome to our cruise!

Glad you will be sailing with us! How fun to be celebrating your anniversary on The Dream too!!!! Congratulations!! :cheer2:
This will be our second cruise, our first being way back in 2004. Your kids are going to have a blast! (our kids were about the same age as your 2 youngest when we first cruised. ) They still remember everything about it and had the absolute time of their lives! And honestly, so did we! :woohoo: We can not wait to recapture some of the same magical memories! There is nothing like a Disney Cruise!!
My oldest son won't be sailing with us as he will be away at college but our three younger kids will be onboard! Paige (14) Ty (13) and Matt(11) [at time of sailing] Hopefully the boys can meet up and hang out! I know some of their fondest memories were those in which they hung out with friends they met onboard!! :) Looking forward to meeting your family!

Hello Everyone,

This will be the first time that we do the FE or DIS thing and are looking forward to it. This will be the 5th cruise for me and my daughter (19) but the first for her boyfriend (21). We are on Deck 5 Aft (the very back of the ship with verandahs) in 2 different cabins.

Since my daughter will be hanging out with her boyfriend, I'm gonna need someone to hang out with - any other single parents going? I usually end up by myself anyways because she always did her teen thing so I would just go to the movies or play bingo. I never liked getting off the ship by myself and going somewhere alone (I believe there's safety in numbers).

Keep us posted on what's going on.

I love the idea of "bedazzled" ears. LOL

Well I am pretty sure there is going to be a Nassau mango rum run, possibly complete with silliness and bedazzled Mickey ears

Well, if you don't mind running around with a crazy bedazzled woman throughout Nassau looking for that darn mango run, you can hang with me anytime!:rotfl:
Welcome to our group!!!!

Well, I will be technically single on this cruise
My DH really doesn't like cruising so he is staying home and my Mom is coming with me and the kids. I am figuring that once my DS meets some friends at the kid's club, he might decide to ditch us quite a bit too.
So come on over and hang with me and my Mom, LOL.

And of course there is the Mango Rum Run..... Now are we doing the Rum Run with our bedazzled ears on???? LOL :dance3:

Lol, oh yes, we should all wear matching outfits and bedazzled Mickey ears!

Just read on the boards that effective 7/13 fees will increase on passports. We are definitely getting ours now before the fee hike. How about everyone else? Ya or nay to passports?! Everything I have read thus far affirms they are recommended but not required. However, just to be on the safe side, we are getting ours. What are your feelings and opinions on this?

We are getting passports. I am just too paranoid of that very slight chance something will happen to us (like I fall and break my leg during our Mango Rum Run) and they need to fly me back to the states, LOL.

I'm going to try to get ours done before 7/13 (finger's crossed).

Personally I would (and will) have them for every member of the family. I think everyone should have a passport regardless of travel plans. You never know when something may come up and if you are without a passport you may miss out on a great travel or business opportunity. We currently have them for everyone but our youngest, but we will be having his done soon.
