Disney Dream - April 3, 2011 - 4 nights

Haha, Crystal I was just joking too :rotfl: That's the problem with the internet, you can't tell inflection ;)

Trust me I would rather be by the pool instead of in the car with the boys for 8 hours. I still say we have midnight margaritas (or maybe 9 or 10 o'clock margaritas  )

I woke up this morning feeling sick, I am hoping it is just from lack of sleep, but there have been so many bugs going around here I am afraid I have caught one...

Oh no...I hope you aren't getting sick. I have been taking vitamins like crazy right now, hoping to keep my immune system in check ;)

EcbLovesMickey- I felt the same yesterday and so did a friend of mine in another state! Think it's weather change...not sure. I was in the bed most of yesterday but feel better today:) Feel better:wizard:

I was able to finish up my under 8 girl fe:banana: Now onto the rest :yay:

Only 15 days till we start our drive  17 days, 7 hours, and 35 seconds till we wave goodbye to the folks on shore and set sail on what "Dream"s are made of :cloud9:

WOO HOO - it is getting so close!! I have to admit, I have been a lot of "three weeks from today we will be on our Sea Day", etc.

My son tyler, with hards casts on both arms really wanted to go to Atlantis for the day and do the water slides! Bummer that is just not going to happen now! He will be in the cast for his right elbow at least 6 weeks and his writst and hand 8-12 weeks. And the doctor would not put them in a waterproof cast for fear Ty would be more mobile. Grouch!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: haha So, originally I was going to stay back with Ty and now Paige doesnt feel good about going without Ty and I imagine Matt and Jay will bag it as well. I know Matt really wants to go and I have encouraged Jay to take him but my guts says, we will all be hanging as family come Nassau! So, I am so in for the Mango Rum but wondered what everyone is doing after. I really want to see and hang out on a beach or maybe hang out a local hotel with a pool and access to a beach.......anyway, I had all this info at some point but when we chose Atlantis, I must have dumped it. Anyway, going back to the boat may just be what we will do too. I am sooo going to let Ty get in the water. it is just not fair for him to watch from the sidelines so to speak, and maybe when we are at nasssau the pools wont be so crowded. Anyway, all help advice and opinions welcome! I cant believe we are sooooo close to being there!!

I already sent this to you ;) but we are planning to hang out on the ship after the Rum Run.

For those doing the Rum Run, are other family members going also? Kids? My Mom didn't know if she could keep up and wasn't really excited about walking around Nassau anyway so she was planning on staying on the ship with the kids. DS will probably want to be in the kid's club anyway, but if other kids are going then DD might want to come with me.
I just need to make sure that we aren't going anywhere that minors aren't allowed. I don't remember what other places were talked about before (other than Hard Rock...which should be no problem for kids).

Hi...was this in response to my post? If so, yes...B2B stands for Back 2 Back cruises. That are about 5 families (I think) that have been posting on this thread that are booked on both the 4/3 and 4/7 cruises :thumbsup2

Wow! The last time I posted on this cruise meet there were only 3 pages to scroll through, so I do not know if you have counted us in. DH, DD (11) and I will be doing a B2B (4/3 & 4/7).
We live in the Atlanta area and we'll be flying in the day before. We did a 7 day on the Magic last year for spring break and the drive back home took forever, so the decision was made to fly this year (of course every sale Airtran had for the last few months EXCLUDED Orlando during the first weeks in April).
Has anyone heard about DCL changing the show times (originally there were 3 show times and now only 2?).
Can't wait!!!!

Welcome back! We're just outside Atlanta (Athens area) too, and doing the B2B. We are driving though, hoping for no traffic and nice weather!

Well, I think my ankle will be good!! I danced on it today and it didnt hurt too much (Then again we didnt dance too much..) But anyhow, it'll be all good!

I don't think B2B was listed for your family on the first page of the thread so I didn't count it. WOO HOO - we have 6 families doing B2B :cool1: It will be nice to have company inbetween the cruises!!

I read about the changing show times also. I'm guessing the theater seating isn't as much of a problem as they were expecting. I was happy with ours before so it works out either way for us, but I'll bet that works out great for people that had a lot of time between the show and dinner (ex. 5:00 show and 8:30 dinner).

Do you get funny looks (imagine a dog doing the "huh"? head side-tilt) from people when you tell them you are doing a B2B? Some cannot understand why I would go, get off, get back on and then go to the same places I came back from (I guess they have never been to CC!!!) :rotfl:

I see that you have a "tween"- is she looking forward to The Edge? Still find the name quite amusing- all I can picture is the tween years driving me to the edge! :rotfl2:

Looking forward to April 3!

Jennifer

We are so looking forward to this trip- had it booked 2 months before we sailed on the Magic for spring break last year! DH thought DD and I were nuts for talking him into booking and a B2B at that! The prices were too good to pass up though.
We are no even planning on getting off in Nassau on the first leg- I think we are going snorkling on the next pass through.
I just wish now that DCL would let us know about summer 2012- I do not have anything booked yet- what can I look forward to when we have to get off the boat on April 10?

Jennifer

I spent this afternoon working on my magnets! :cool1: They are looking pretty good. I am hoping to spend Sunday finishing up our FE gifts.

So, is anyone planning on booking future trips onboard? We are thinking about it. Not sure what and when, but probably Dream or Fantasy 2012. Did anyone see the post that 2011 is pretty much booked SOLID for the Dream with kids? :scared1: That is amazing!

I am still not 100%, but feeling a bit better. Tomorrow is a busy day though, I will have to hit the ground running, so I am hoping it passes in the night... GO AWAY GERMS!!!!

According to the countdown on my phone we are 17 days, 18 hours from setting sail!!!:banana:

LOL - I feel like I am constantly explaining the reason for the B2B. But now I just tell people that 4 nights is too short since we are flying across country so we added another 3 nights. They seem to accept that :lmao:

DD went to the Edge on the Wonder in January (we did the 2-night Cruise to Nowhere when the Wonder came to Los Angeles) but she didn't stay because she didn't know anyone. I am really hoping that she makes friends with some of the other tweens in our B2B group because she is quite shy and has a hard time jumping into a group that she doesn't know. She has already met Mjvans kids (we met them at WDW last summer) so she has kids she knows on the first cruise...but she won't know anyone on the second one. Hopefully the tweens in our B2B group will "click" so she has someone to hang out with :thumbsup2

Oh no...I hope those germs stay away!!!

I will be booking a Spring Break cruise for next year when we are on board. Luckily the Wonder worked "wonders" on DH (my anti-cruising hubby) :rotfl2: and now he is ready to go on a longer cruise....so MR, here we come. I have my finger's crossed that the school will put out the calendar for next year soon so I can be sure, but I will book the week I think they will have off anyway (and change it if I need to).

LOL - maybe after that I can find a way to go back across the country and try out the Fantasy in 2013 :thumbsup2

Check your school district's website, ours already has next year posted. I'm concidering booking next year as well, although the way the prices have already surged...... checked a couple weeks back and I could book next year for 5 nights what we are paying now (we just booked in January). When I looked the other day a four night is now running $400 more! Good grief!

This is weird.... look at my counters in relation to everyone elses.... words are right but the counter (dream) is in a different place!

Yeah, I have been checking the district's website every week or so in hopes that it shows up. I'll check it again right before we leave for FL. This was close to the time last year that we booked this cruise and it was already posted so I'm hoping the new calendar will show up any day now.

I have been watching the prices on the MR cruises also. So far, they are holding steady. Since they are not in as high of demand as the Dream/Fantasy cruises, I decided to take the chance and wait until I can rebook on board (finger's crossed, LOL). I sure hope that they don't go up before then and eat up any savings I would have gotten by booking on board :upsidedow

They even have the room open that we want (we are hoping to get the same one that we had for the 2-night cruise). Hopefully no one grabs that before we sail either. I will probably be at the rebooking desk as soon as I get on the ship

WOO HOO - I just checked my account (I'm getting ready to transfer my rewards points over to cards for our trip) and there is an extra 100 rewards dollars in there :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Back in January, I got a postcard from Chase offering 3X's rewards points (for purchases in January, February and March that are over a certain dollar amount). Well, I pay for everything with that card and then pay it off at the end of the month. But in January, I also paid off both cruises so that put the balance for that month way up there.

Yeah!!!! That was a nice surprise this morning :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh! :surfweb: computer problems again! ugh! That is why most of the time I don't post notes to user names cuz I time out!

mjvans...how about waterproof tape or something from a craft store...they may have something. Old fashion plastic bags will do too :)

jetskigirl...good for you!! first time I'd say "CHARGE IT!":cheer2:

EcbLovesMickey....we plan to book another cruise while onboard:yay: Our school have a set "Spring Break" so hope they have a cabin for us:) now that I'm hearing about B2B that's what I'd like us to do:banana: Cruises to Mexico look good but most excursions are for kids older than my youngest:sad2:

pirate:Everyone have a great day!! 2 weeks from today we will have been on the road for over an hour now to begin our vacation

Hey what is MR? Being new to the lingo, not sure what that is...:confused3

Mexican Riviera :thumbsup2

We live about 15 minutes from the Port of LA so the Wonder is literally in our back yard. We even go down there sometimes on Sundays (the kids like to ride their scooters along the pier area and then ride the trolleys) just to see her off :)

Hello Everyone! :yay: I just spent a couple of hours organizing my FE stuff. At this point I really have to be thinking about how to get this stuff on the ship! I don't know if any of you have seen how our luggage gets handled...let's just say huge piles! :upsidedow And I don't want anything smashed...Anyhow...that's my last thing that I need to work on. I have hand carried my FE stuff on before...but that's an extra bag to tote around. :sad2:

Someone asked about the Mango Rum Run and who is coming from your family. You know...it might just be my husband and myself. I can go either with kids or without. My kids aren't very social...but they are very independent and can handle staying onboard for a couple of hours. And Nassau really is not that big...I don't know...Anyone else??? :confused3 Also...I know of several all-inclusive spots...The Wyndham...The Sheraton...The British Hilton (I believe)... We have been to the The Wyndham and we had usage of the Sheraton...it was great! I think that it all depends on the weather...to be quite honest. April is still pretty chilly in Nassau. That being said...you Northerners...and Westerners...might be just fine in the cooler water temps.

As far as booking while onboard...We won't be doing that...unless they come out with some great deal for Alaska or the Med. this summer...then we might consider it. I am really looking into either the Oasis or the Allure with RCI...for either August of this year or Spring Break next year. Our future plans are pretty fluid...so that's good. :cool2:

Any further ideas on meeting place for DISmeet? 9AM is good...location???

That is a nice surprise! I cashed mine in a few weeks ago and I am hoping it will cover some of our costs onboard!

Okay...here goes another long weekend! :upsidedow Baseball tourney starts tomorrow...15 teams in our age bracket over 60 teams total. Apparently a baseball magazine is going to be there...it's a pretty big event...all major teams in Virginia are going to be there. Weather is supposed to be nice...today it was 82! And sunny! Tomorrow is supposed to be more like in the upper 60's...but we will take it! :thumbsup2

Wish us luck! I hope that everyone has a great weekend! Enjoy!!! :cool2:
