DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

morning everyone! Yall's shirts look great. Unfortunately, we won't be making any b/c I had already made us shirts with our names on them to wear, but they look great!

only a couple weeks to go! so excited!

Just finished the last of my shirts this morning. Now I just have to start on Pirates outfits and see if I can get them done on time. I pulled materials from my stash before work yesterday. Now all I have to do is figure out how to put them all together.

My wife made us Disney Dork shirts. I found the Mickey ears with the propeller hat on them in Shadowryters Disdesigns and copied the file. DS (5) loves it, he thinks it is like Mario's hat in the game Mario Brothers on Wii. She also had us made matching brown classic Mickey shirts for the cruise.

Got the following quotes re: FE delivery and conceirge level

"When we were on our B2B last April, the gates to those rooms were open during the day. We just walked in there and delivered the FE gifts.

I was fully prepared to be kicked out and if that happened, I was planning on just explaining to the CM what I was doing and ask them if they could please deliver the gifts for me.

We passed 2 CMs and neither said anything to us (but I have a feeling that they knew what we were doing and also noticed that as soon as we delivered the gift, we walked right back out)."

"In March the 'gates' were left open all day and well into the night. All FE gifts were delivered normally to the cabins. I know one day there was a gift left on the floor by the gate. Don't know if the gate was locked when they came by or not. Doesn't seem to be a problem though."


YEAH!!!!

Just enjoyed a day at the zoo with my daughter's 1st grade field trip...It is impressive that I say Enjoy because it is HOT here, and I hate HOT unless I'm at the pool or the beach. But fortunately, it is Kansas, so of course there was some wind, so it was bearable. The highlights of the day included me nearly getting licked on the face by a giraffe (kudos to my lightening fast reflexes lol ), a goose stealing one of the kids sandwiches right off his lap, a rat/mouse/rodent thing running around under our benches while we ate...and the baby chimpanzee. So cute! My DD3 was FABULOUS for me, it was such a fun day!

I had the most horrible nightmare!!!! I worked all night last night and didn't get to sleep until after 1pm so I was exhausted. I woke up startled from my nightmare about 7pm - it was SO real!!!!! I was dreaming that my DH woke me up and said "get up, we need to leave for the airport in an hour or we'll miss the flight and miss the boat" and when I got up I realized NOTHING HAD BEEN PACKED! It was SO real that when I actually woke up I ran downstairs and my DH was just staring at me wondering why I came BOLTING down the stairs! I was very releaved to see the kids finishing homework and not waiting to leave for the airport.

So DS's communion is Sunday morning- by Sunday evening I will start my packing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone needs a vacation...

AMEN to that!!! Nights is OVER !!! At least this long run of nights. I picked up 2 night shifts end of June but it's only 1 per week for 1 wks. The rest of the month is all normal day shift again!!!!!!

I can't even go to sleep today!!! I have a doctor's appointment in 11 - it's a 45 min drive so luckily DH is home and can drive me or I'd be asleep on the side of the road!!!!

And so it begins. I had my first pre-cruise nightmare a few weeks ago, but I was already on the ship, on our verandah, leaving port when I turned to my Mom (whose been gone for 3+ years) and said "I didn't pack anything, did I?" and she said "No". So what am I going to do? I have nothing to wear the entire cruise, but what I have on. Just as I started to wake up I thought " I know, I'll just have to shop for some new stuff."The beginning was bad but it ended OK. With less than 3 weeks to go I know that that won't be the last one.

Do you guys follow the DCL picture of the day thread? Some serious gorgeousness (and seriously talented photographers) over there. This was posted the other day and I just loved it. I'm not sure I'll ever figure out how to do those HDR pics (where they take several of the same shots with different settings and then blend them into what looks more like a painting than a picture?! Plus I still don't know how to use my photoshop elements program!). Anyways, check this out

Everything in our house is falling apart. We keep saying, "At least this didn't happen while we were on vacation for a week." DH got a good bonus back in Feb, so we did the responsible thing and bought more DVC points.

So of course, all of this has happened.....We had to buy a new car 2 weeks ago and in the last week we got a leak in our roof right above our bathroom (which we remodeled last year), our toilet started leaking in another bathroom (thank goodness we caught it before the floor had to be replaced, and last night we found that our water heater is leaking so we have to replace it. The floor is wet, but it could be worse.

I am checking ds out of school early today and he is going to help me pull carpet up and take out the pad. We are going to go rent a dryer to dry things out and attempt to replace the pad on our own. I hope I don't have to get a carpet installer out.

We just replace our leaking water heater last week, too. It is in the closet under the stairs and I don't know what made DH go digging back there. He was looking for something & found the leak. Thank goodness we found it before vacation. DS wouldn't have a clue what to do.

The first time we went to WDW we left DD home to watch the house. One day one of the circuits blew. She called us to find out how to fix it. When she turned the breaker back on only half of the lights came back on. When we got home DH went through those rooms looking for a break in the wiring. When he got to the attic he found two wires that had burnt through. Thank goodness they didn't arc or we could have ended up with a fire. The guys who built our house just twisted the wires together and taped them. No cap, No junction box. They went bankrupt just after we bought the house so there was noone we could even go back to.

As I was gathering some stuff for the suitcases I wondered if all travelers are as crazy as we are...starting to pack three weeks in advance...or is this more of the Disney Dork syndrome? maybe we need a 12 step program

I was going to post some of my fave travellIng with kids stuff but I'm typing on my phone and I can only handle so much of that... So in the meantime I'll just ask u other parents, what are yir best tricks for flying with the munchkins.
