DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

Thanks for the tips so far, please keep them coming. I am thinking that picking up a docker type pant wouldn't be a bad idea, a pair of those can come in handy around home. On the capri's, does it matter if they are denim? I am really lost on my clothes, I have had some health issues/depression, well food became my comfort so my summer clothes don't fit anymore. I just want to look nice, don't want the kiddies trying to avoid being seen with their mother. thanks again to all, these boards a major blessing to me.

The dress code asks that you not wear tanks, shorts, swimsuits. In the restaurant description, it also says dress changes nightly. Not sure what that means. I have seen people in jeans/denim, so I think your denim capri's are fine. I would bring a skirt or nicer pair of capri's for 1 night. On The Wonder, Triton's seems a little dressier than the other restaurants, so one of the restaurants on the Dream may be a little dressier.

Royal Palace is the Triton equivelant on the Dream- the "dressier" of the restaurants.
I don't wear denimn capris on board (while I live in them at home) unless they are a very dark denimn (like navy blue or black). Flip Flops are also 'frowned' upon - if they are the beach type, but there are many woman's 'dress shoes' that are flip flop style and I (personally) consider those okay.
It is true that 'tank tops' are not recommended - but dressy clothes that are spaghetti straps or sleeveless (tanks) are okay - you just shouldn't look like you just walked off of the beach at dinner time. That's pretty much the rule.
Definitely bring a light sweater as well - the air conditioning can be very cold, especially if you're out in the sun all day.

I am excited too book Palo on Monday...My Best friend and I just want one Palo dinner on board so I hope I can grab something...:thumbsup2

If not I will try as soon as we board the ship that day.

Now our school is extended from May 20th till June 6th, but we are still planning too fly down on May 28th. Finally booked our flights down too Orlando, but still waiting for SW too have a sale for June...:rolleyes1

I did rent some points from my vacation club friend for after the cruise. DD and I are staying 2 nights at AKV and we may not even visit any parks..Just relax and eat and go too DTD. This stay at WDW will make it easier too leave the Dream....:cloud9:

It is coming up quickly...:woohoo:

I also was wanting to ask all of the family cruise experts out there for some much needed assistance. I have asked on a couple other threads, but still I am lost.....somethings take me a while, lol. Anyhow, my stress at the moment is trying to figure out what clothing we need. None of use "dress up", we are a very very casual family. My husband is a jean/short and t shirt guy all the way, dressing up for me is capri pants....so the kids follow our lead. What do we need for the ship, I don't want to buy things we will only wear once but I also don't want to be told we are not dressed according to the rules. I need someone to help me out on what we need. The clothes we do have are nice, I don't allow holes or anything dirty...but still I don't want us to be the one family. After the dream we have a 6 nights at WDW so it would be nice to keep things as simply as possible. Thanks in advance. Also if there are anything that people seem to forget, or that one thing you can't cruise without, please feel free to either post or message me....I just need help, and now with being paid I am getting nervous.

For all of you worried about what to wear don't stress out. You will see a broad range of outfits even on semi-formal night. As a general rule, if you would wear it to church it is appropriate for the cruise. I usually wear Dockers and a short sleeve polo which I swap out for a long sleeved dress shirt +/- for semi-formal or Palo night.

The key is you don't want to look like you went directly from the pool to dinner.

They will never turn you away from dinner with the exception of Palo (collared shirt required) and Remy (jacket required).

Cool...how long are you staying? I have two nights reserved, but I may add Sunday night if I can not get a decent flight. I would rather pay for more points then spend a fortune too fly home on Sunday??? If it was up too me I would never go home....................:rolleyes1 I would like too live in Florida..Someday I plan too.:goodvibes

Josie and I are just in a standard studio and hoping or an upgraded view!! Once I have gotten a safari and once a pool view..Both were great.

I did reserve breakfast at Boma on Saturday morning. We love their breakfast.

We will have too meet on the ship when we figure out where that is going too be?? There are so many pages I may have missed the meeting place?

We are saying on the concierge level for Friday and Sat nights. Friday is going to be a down day, head to Downtown Disney for lunch and shopping and then relax at the pool. Saturday we are going to the Magic Kingdom.

We are doing Boma on Friday night. We still haven't done breakfast there yet. We do the meal plan and usually save our table service for dinner.

This trip is not coming soon enough. Really need my Disney fix.

This roll call has not been as active as others I have been on, but as we get closer it might pick up. We haven't decided on a meet n greet yet, not even sure where a good spot would be. I think I remember that someone on our roll call has been on the Dream. Maybe they can advise on a good location and time.

Lucky! Concierge would be nice.......:cloud9: It is just Josie and I so a studio will be fine for us. My friend is flying back on Friday with her two kids.

We also plan too spend Friday at DTD. We want too eat at Wolf Gang puck express..Love it!:thumbsup2 We also love Trend D and hope too have some fun shopping and having a milk shake at Girradellis...We love DTD.
So I told Josie to pick our park to visit and she picked Epcot. So that is where we will be on Saturday.

I am sure our group will figure out a place too meet before we leave.

We eat at Wolf Gang Puck Express too, favorite place and the food is good and a good value for the meal plan counter service.

We had to use up some points so we decided to go concierge. They offer some good food during the day and free wine at dinner time... :thumbsup2

How are you getting to AKV from the port?

My friend and I already have a private shuttle set up too take us too the port and then back too the airport so I was just going too ask how much extra too drop me at WDW? We have used them before and they are very good and I think they will work with me? Guess I need too call them? Otherwise I figured I could grab ME back at the airport after they drop us off, but I really don't want too.

Yes Josie and I can split meals at Wolf Gang puck since it is so much food and I think we are going too Via Napoli in Epcot and going too split a single serving pizza. They just give you so much food and we usually do the dining plan, but this trip I am not since Jo and I plan too split a lot of meals.

Right now we are planning on taking the bus from the port to AKV. It's easier and the cost of the car rental would be just as much as the transport cost. The rental is is a better deal if you are traveling with 3 or more people.

Clothes-- We are dressing like we normally do around here. Shorts, etc. mostly comfy things. We will dress up for dinner. Nothing fancy, just church clothes. I have bought a couple dresses for myself, but my boys could care less about clothes.

When we stayed AKL CL a few years ago they also had Grand Marnier, Kahlua and some other similar liquor out around 8 pm.

Have to agree about Wolf Gang Pucks. We ate there for the first time in September and loved it. The servings were large, but we were both very hungry that day and ate it all.

If one hasn't been able to tell, I am a bit of a worry wart....ok I got it bad. Thanks so much for everyone's help, I want to start looking for items since Spring clothes are out in the midwest. I am sure things will be ok, if I am not worried about what to wear its the drive down/back, or who knows what....it is very helpful to have some assistance...thanks so much

I too am staying at AKV pre and post cruise. I'm coming down Thursday before the cruise and staying til Sunday after the cruise. It's Star Wars weekend both weekends so looking forward to checking out the action

:cool1:

:dance3::dance3::dance3:

SW finally dropped the price of the morning flight on May 28th!!!:yay: So I was able too switch my resv from the evening too the 7:25 am flight..So now I can enjoy my stay at the Radisson as planned & Dinner at Grills!!:cloud9:

Now I just hope my friend books today..I told her she better grab them at $140 because it is a Holiday weekend and I am not so sure they will go lower..If they do we can take a credit and use it for our flight home. Still have not booked for June...Oh well the most important part is taken care of.

Hi,

This is our 5 cruise. I just set up this account. I can give my daughter my info and let her reply. Is there a better way to do this or do I just try to find the thread again?

We live in GA now and she will be finishing up 7th grade. My husband went to college in CO and we ski there every year!. This spring break we are heading to Keystone!

--SORRY i was trying to respond to a specific post regarding similar age daughters.
