DISNEY DREAM 5-nights May 29th, 2011

It's snowing AGAIN!!!!!!! And again, this time, it seems to be going through Philly and up the East Coast. We will be getting some here (4-8" around Allentown) but it sounds like a few of you are going to get beat up again.

Wish it was May 29. When I wrote the date for the end of this week on my timesheet, since I finish my work week on Saturday, the date is January 29. On Saturday it will be only 4 more months until the cruise.

yea, we are going to get clobbered again. Looks like more on Friday and then again on Tuesday... enough is enough....

We got 4 inches this morning and another 10 to 12 tonight.....

Can anyone give me advice:

We are coming from Colorado and thought instead of the extra expense of coming in the night before we would book a flight into orlando on the day of the cruise. The earliest we will get in is 1:10pm. Are we cutting it to close? What should I do. Help

No way would we even consider that.

Remember that if you miss the departure, you won't be able to rejoin the boat until Nassau. Is the cost of one night in a hotel worth the possibility of missing over half of your cruise in addition to the cost of flying to Nassau?

Agreed. I can't imagine anything worse than getting to port too late, and watching the Dream sail away without you.

I know I'm a little behind, but sorry to hear that news. Praying he will find something soon. He's fortunate to have a family like you!

Our adult son had some unfortunate news today; he was laid off his job. He is praying for a new job to be in the near future, but in the meantime we felt it necessary to cancel our family cruise. Should our son need some financial help our cruise $$$$'s will be what is used to help him get through these trying times.

Since we were booked in a concierge if we cancelled we'd forfeit a large deposit, so hubby and I are now booked on the Fantasy for June, 2012. I pray by this time our son will be back on his feet and we can take this cruise.

Also, our daughter and hubby will not be sailing so please remove our two staterooms (11000 for "OKrays Love Disney" and GTY 10A for "Holt") from the FE list.

We wish everyone smooth sailing on the Dream!

Glad to have you join the group! I have DD10 (thinks she is 16) and also DD13. I like hearing there will be lots of kids their age on board.

We will also be on this cruise! We booked while on the Wonder last year when it had it's double dip We are getting so excited!! It'll be myself, my DH and DD11 and DD13 (almost 14). We've been reading some reviews coming in from those who are currently sailing on the Dream. I can't wait to see more pics! This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise.

We will also be on this cruise! We booked while on the Wonder last year when it had it's double dip We are getting so excited!! It'll be myself, my DH and DD11 and DD13 (almost 14). We've been reading some reviews coming in from those who are currently sailing on the Dream. I can't wait to see more pics! This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise.

Grrrrrrr.......... As I'm putting the kids coats on to head to CCD at church (my son is a 2nd grader and it's communion year) I turned to shut off the TV and there it is - CCD cancelled tonight. Now I've been watching it all evening and they post it literally 3 minutes before I have to walk out the door! I would have been PISSED if I drove over there just to turn around and come home.

We are lucking out - originally in a 10-17 band but as the past 2 days have gone on the projected amounts have decreased sufficiently - expecting about 5-7. MUCH better than 10-17.

I SO can't wait for MAY. Actually I can't wait for 2/28 when my booking window opens up. I SO want my brunch ressie!!!! Other than that I don't care what we get. Parasailing is on the list but I'm flexible with day / times. Might book a spa ressie but I may just wait until I am on board. Undecided.........

Looking forward to January 30th- because then it is LESS than 4 months on our countdowns!!!

My plan is to do brunch - I have done dinner at Palo on our honeymoon and I'm not a real "foodie" so the main 3 restaurants are okay with me, but I LOVE brunch so I'm hoping to snag a ressie for that. They didn't do brunch way back when we did our 7 night honeymoon cruise, and our last cruise was only a 4 night so no brunch on that one. This time I will TIE my kids to the kids club councelor if it means I can have an adult moment in Palo for brunch.

2/28 is my open window for booking and happens to be my birthday so I just HAVE to have luck on my side....

Has anyone thought of posting pictures of ourselves as we get closer so we can 'recognize' eachother?? Last cruise I had posted a pic of me for something and I was sitting at a bar and some woman came up and said "Hi Denise! I know you from DIS boards!!" and it was SO nice to actually put a person (not just a face) to a name. DH (who is so not an outgoing person) thought I was nuts when I invited a total stranger to sit at a table with us for the evening!!!!! But I'm a very outgoing person (total extrovert) and can talk to anyone about anything... DH is the total opposite of me (it's a wonder we've been married for 10 years).

Ooh I think I would like those too- are they served chilled? I LOVE all things seafood (except eel, squid and octopuss - for some reason I just can't seem to acquire a taste for those 3 items).

So everyone- what food item / restaurant are you MOST looking forward to and why???? (just thought I'd get some conversation going while I sit here with the snow falling, a full glass of wine, and a plate of pizza bagels!!).

Did you say bellini?! AND chocolate souflee"? YUM!! I am renewing my plan to give it a shot right at midnight on 2/28 with a back-up plan of racing to guest services ASAP.

Looks like there are a lot of Silver CC members My booking date is 2/28 also. This cruise will put me into the GOLD staus

I really want to get the brunch as well. Our last cruise we were able to get the Palo dinner (which was awesome btw) but I really like brunch food. And I didn't know they had the choc soufle at brunch. That & belinni..... if that is all I got I would be a happy camper.

I like the idea of putting pics with names and I think it will be so much fun having "friends" on board. Adds another great dimension to it. Does it count if it's one from high school when I had a tiny waist, 120 lbs & thought I was fat (I am well past my 20 yrs since h.s.)

Anyone staying at CI&S the night before? I just got it booked. It's so crazy that even doing a little thing like that makes me excited for the cruise!!

I am most looking forward the chocolate soufle but Animator's Palate restaurant. I love the fun atmosphere & can't wait to see how it's different.

duh- how could I forget that (sea days) and it would be good if they expanded to due the # of guests. we'll see.

that would be nice to post pics, we did that on another cruise and it was very helpful. I know some people posted their pictures in the GTKY list but that seems like soooo many pages ago! I am not computer savvy but if someone coould make a link or something for our pics and names so it maybe easier to locate as these pages start to fillup? Just a thought!

Too many snow days...............UGH! We were supposed too be out on May 20th and with the allowment of inclement weather days no later than May 31st....So I figured we would be ok...Well not so good...So far 7 snow days and probably more too come....

So our Harry Potter visit will have too wait till October, but that is ok. It will probably be less crowded by then anyway. We are still planning to fly down on May 28th and stay at the Radisson before the cruise. SW has such high flight prices..I hope they have a sale soon...

So school decided we may go till June 3rd if we have too..I called them and explained that I had planned according too the school schedule and we have had this booked for over 1 year. They said no big deal..We understand and you will just go ahead and take her out those last days... I am so glad they will be ok with this. This winter has been stressful.

It has been fun looking at pictures and hearing reports from the Dream. I can not believe we get too go in a few months...
