Hi everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. Me and DD 10 will be sailing with you guys. We are from GA and will be joined by my sister and her DD 4. They are coming from DC. I'm getting excited...it's not too far off yet. I joined the FB group and I look forward to meeting you guys.

Disney Dream 4-6-2014
Hello DREAM cruisers!

We are first time cruisers and getting so very excited! We are a group of 6 (Mom, Dad, DD 17, DS 15, DS 12 and DS 8) coming from the Seattle area. We will ultimately be a group of 14 spread out over 4 cabins (2 more kids: boys ages 5 and 8). We'd love to join the FE. I'm not crafty at all, but will do my best to make a decent FEE. How do we get on the list?

So excited!!

This is our (me, DW & DD(8)) first cruise. Signed up for FE and facebook group. We are looking forward to meeting everyone.

This is our first Disney cruise and we couldn't be more excited!!! We would love to sign up for the FE group. How do I sign up? We have Mom, Dad, DD8, DD3 and DS0 (he will be 6 months old). We are room 8640.

Here are a few questions I have as a newbie.

1. Does anyone do the pin trading with the lanyards on the boat? If so, do your kids enjoy it or do they just forget about trading becasue there is so much going on.

2. Has anyone ever used the daycare on board? I feel nervous leaving my kid with someone I don't know. I just wanted to see if anyone here has ever done it and how it went.

3. Do you dress up for pirate night? I just wonder if people take costumes with them.

Any input would be awesome!! We are super excited!!!

Welcome CREWOF5 !!! I been on 2 Disney Cruise in the past and they are great. I know they have pins in all the stores on the ship but I do not recall if anyone was trading them. I assume they did. As for the day care my kids never would go, but we sitting with another family and all there 2 kids wanted to do was go to the kid center. I guess they play all sorts of games the characters come in. My two girls to shy to go in but seemed safe. As for pirate night about half people dress up. At dinner they hand out bandanas for those that did not bring anything. I see you added your self to the FE.......Let me know if this helped.

Hello, fellow DREAMers!

We're super excited for our second Disney Dream cruise! We booked this one while on board last year!

Our DD (9 1/2) LOVES the kids' club and DH and I LOVE the adults only pool & bar. Whoo hoo!

We highly recommend the adults only dinner at Palo for the additional $25 per person fee. Great view from the top of the ship, top notch service and fabulous food - best on the ship.

We're looking forward to the day at Castaway Cay. Be sure to snorkel out to the sunken Mickey! It's a good distance for young swimmers, but well worth it.

We were rained out of Atlantis' Aquaventure last year, so are anxious to try again this year. Any tips for the excursion?

Already signed up on the Google doc for the FE. That is so much fun and really enhances the cruise experience.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on board! 86 days!!

Where are you from in GA? We live in Roswell. Our daughters are about the same age. We should be sure to get them together!

I didn't notice any pin trading, but I'm sure you can find them. My understanding is that if you ask any Disney staff member to trade, they have to.

We gave pirate "gear" for our FE gifts last year - patches, tattoos, earrings, etc. Most people wear the bandanas Disney hands out and a patch or something. Of course, there are the people who go all out with FULL costumes. It's a blast!

Our daughter (9) LOVED the kids' club last year. She'd spend a few hours there each day because she liked it so much. We used the Wave phones to keep in touch with her. Bring Ziploc bags to keep the phone in. I had ours right by me in the adult pool! It is not your normal "day care" facility. They have character visits, interactive screens, special games and contests, etc. It is Disneyfied, for sure.

I just signed our (very large) group up for the Fish Exchange. Grandma and Grandpa are taking the whole family on our first Disney Cruise (this is Grandma's lifelong dream to take the whole family on a Disney cruise). We are a group of 4 families (14 total) meeting up in FL for the cruise and soooo excited! I'm the only one of the group on DISboards, so I signed everyone up under my user name. Hope that is ok? :wave2:

That sounds like so much fun! I'd love to cruise with my whole family.

k2ssss - What is the max. number for the FE? On our last cruise, there was a cap on the number of participants total and then others needed to start their own FE group. I'd say we're pretty close, if not already there, to closing this list to keep it manageable.

Mayomamma - I did the same thing adding a second room for my wife's sister and her family.

HouseofKards - That is up to the group. Think we are at 13 right know. Do we want cap it at 15 ? Any suggestions from anyone ? How have others done it in the past ?

I would hate for MayoMamma's group to be excluded from the FEE. If we needed to we could possibly do a "secret santa" type thing, where everyone wouldn't have to buy for all the FEE participants...

Also, do we have a Pirate Night on this cruise? I saw some people posting about that, and I didn't know if our cruise had it. If it does...I may make a costume! :)
