Disney Dream- 3-10-2011 (3 night)

On my past cruises, we recognized each other for the meet by posting pictures on the thread before the cruise. Just a thought.

Thats a good idea. How do you post a picture? Can anyone post a picture or do you need to have so many posts before you are allowed?

Have no idea why lime green was the color for the DIS. Perhaps because it tends to stand out from others.

If our cruise gang wants another color that would work just as well as long as everyone knew the color.

I think we should stick with Lime green. It is a good trivia question- maybe it is green because that is the color that is lite up to indicate you are online

I believe we should stick with the light green as well. Light green is the color known for the Disboards. If a Disboarder doesn't find this thread and will be on our cruise, they won't know that we're Disboarders. That's just another reason why I think we should stick with the Disboard light green.

Go to the Technical thread on these forums (down the bottom of the main page) and you'll find a lot of information about posting as well as a video on how to do it. Used this when I was learning to post a photo. There is a test thread to try out your photos as well. Also threads on the DIS regarding the subject.

Before you can do any of that you must first have your photos uploaded to a photo site on the internet. I use "Photobucket" (Google it to get the link) but there are several others as well. Once you do that you'll be able to post photos on this forum.

Yes, you do need a certain # of posts first but don't think it's too many. 10 comes to mind but don't know for sure. Info should be on the Technical thread.

We most likely won't be doing anything lime green because my daughter's godfather, Jason (who is also a long time DISer), just isn't into any of that kind of stuff. No matching shirts or lime green for him! LOL He's big into decorating the doors and the fish extenders, though......go figure! :lmao:

Anyway, here are our pics so that you can recognize us (I should be easy to spot since I'm a redhead ;) ):

Jason and I with our favorite Wonder bartenders ever:

We look forward to meeting everyone!

Thanks I will play around with it some time soon.

Hello All- We are pretty flexible with meeting up. I am excited about meeting everyone in 53 days.

I have a question or two. When you all refer to the Mickey lime green color are you meaning just the paint swatch/sample.

Thanks

Tracy

Yep that is the one.

Thanks for the quick response. Do you need help with anything? I remember my other question. Is there a theme we are sticking with regarding gifts or, is it just whatever we want.

FE gifts are anything you want to do/give. Nick is working hard at finding a place where we can all meet. If anyone has any ideas pass them on to him. We still need a name to identify our group. We will need someone to be in charge of getting a ship photographer take our group picture. We still have to talk about pirate night.

Hi! I think the easiest and cheapest idea for the group identifier is to use the Lime Green Mickey Head Paint Chip samples that Otimon and Mndisneygirl suggested. These can be found at Home Depot in the paint section. If anyone does not have access to a home depot please give a shout out with the number that you. And I am sure that someone on the board can pick up extras and give them to you at the group meet.

Otimon suggested that you can use Velcro to attach it to your clothing
Mndisneygirl suggested that you can put it on a belt loop, pocketbook using a hook or putting it on a lanyard. Mndisneygirl also said that she writes her dis name on her Mickey Head.

How you wear it is up to you.

This is all so exciting! Can't wait to get on board (our first cruise ever) and look for hidden lime green mickeys! :lmao:

By the way, anyone doing any excursions on nassau?

Cheers!
Wadiwo :) (short for WAlt DIsney WOrld, someone on this thread asked earlier. :goodvibes)

Additional information for those considering the Home Depot Disney paint Mickey heads and velcro:

Make sure you get the velcro labeled for most all kinds of surfaces. Some will not adhere to fabric but will indicate that on the package. While at Home Depot I got a package of Velcro
Sticky Back clear strips. Less than $3.00. Made a tag up and it stuck to my shirt with no problem. Put your name on it as well.

You can either cut out the Mickey Head or just leave as is on the card and attach. Has the name of the paint color and some numbers on the card but I kind of like it - even easier to see and more surface for the Velcro.

Best wishes.

Just curious if anyone has a ds somewhere around the 13ish age. I have an only child ds and I'd love him to meet someone to 'hang out' with. :cool1:

I found this nametag in the DISign thread. I hope I copied it correctly.
