Hey all. I was going to add my Mom and Grandson and I would have had to change rooms. Told me rooms my category is sold out. But I can only add my grandson (4). I'm in room 10664. It fits up to 4 but can only book for 3 people.:confused3

Well I'm really confused now. I went on line to the DCL website and I can book for 4.

Hi Shaunna. It can be confusing. We are in 2 rooms, 2 people in each room. Each room sleeps up to 4 people, and our category is sold out also. It sounds like we should be able to add 4 people right or at least put all 4 of us in one the of the 2 rooms? I have been told that we can't. I would have to change rooms to have all 4 of us in one room at this point, and that one room is more expensive than the total for the 2 rooms that I have booked! I have been told this is because of capacity limits. Here is a thread on this subject: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2626760 If you go to Disneycruise.com and put in for 2 adults, you can still get an inside cabin. However, put in 2 adults and 2 children 10 & 15, you are at a 5B, balcony.

Hope this helps some.
Linda

Hello all.

We are first time cruisers from Sydney.

We are spending a couple of weeks and Christmas in New York, and then seeking some sun and fun in Florida.

At time of sailing: Jeremy (39); Andreana (38); daughter Geordie (7); son Finn (4, but only a couple of days shy of 5).

We have late dining (but would like to change this) and are staying in one of the concierge family rooms.

Still trying to absorb all the little details that we need to get our heads around ...

Our only past Disney experiences are in EuroDisney (Jeremy and Andreana) and Tokyo (Jeremy).

Welcome:welcome: Aboard!

Here you are coming to America and we would love to go to Australia! I've not been to Euro or Tokyo Disney. How fun!

We are not too chatty. I've added your information to the Roll Call: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=34376542&postcount=3

There's information there also about the FE (Fish Extender) exchange, along with an explanation of what a FE is.

It will be fun being on the Dream for it's first New Years sailing.

Linda

Checking in.... guess we will get a little more chatty as we get closer to set sail date...

Thanks for the welcome

Given the lack of chat since posting I was afraid that we had killed the conversation.

DD (7) is very excited and wants almost daily updates on what will happen. Her eagerness will be the death of me.

We are keen to participate in the FE exchanges but are concerned about:
- where to hang the FE given the concierge gate, but this will be worked out in the next 10+ months
- what to bring to exchange given that we will be lugging them from Sydney. You may have to settle for small and perfectly formed over size.

Jeremy

I have a going to be 16, 13 and two 9 year olds that are just as excited as your little one. They want to see the ship, the kids' rooms, adtivities... ah.... Have to admit... I am pretty excited too so don't mind too much pulling it up over and over :yay::yay:

Just got back from our 7 day Western Caribbean on the Magic and yesterday changed our New Year's Eve booking from mere reservation to DVC points, so we're definitely going! I was worried there for a few moments.....

Glad to see that there will be at least two other 18 year old girls for my DD to meet. She still wants to go to The Vibe as she'll be in high school; how do the others feel?

We also tentatively booked the 5 day cruise following this one onboard as we got a really good rate, discount and onboard credit. Is anyone else doing the back to back? I'm reeling trying to imagine 4 stops at Castaway Cay.

Hi, everyone!!

We will be on the New Year Cruise as well :)

This will be our third Disney cruise. We have already cruised twice on the Wonder (both New Year Cruises).

It will be me and my husband (no kids)- both of us 30 (sigh, I was very tempted to put 29!)

We're from New Jersey, I don't know if we have early or late dining, but I assume late. I think we are on Deck 9. We were supposed to do a 7 night cruise on the Magic for our honeymoon, but when the news of the Dream was released, we switched our deposit to this cruise on the new ship :)

Its going to be a wonderful cruise. I might as well say I am traveling alone. My son (11) will be just a figment of my imagination once he hits the kids clubs.:lmao:

Welcome :welcome:

I'd added you to roll call and the FE list. This is going to be an awesome cruise and I can not wait!

I know we have 11 months to go, but has anyone thought about what they are doing in Nassau?

If you have been to Nassau, tell us about what you've done in the past and what you might want to try this time. If you have not been, what would you like to do in Nassau, if anything?

We were in Nassau in 2008. We did the Frommers walking tour. http://www.frommers.com/destinations/newprovidence/0251010008.html There was just the 4 of us and we had a great time. I think I would have done a bus tour first and then used the walking tour to go back and visit some of the interesting sites as we did have a hard time finding the Queens Staircase. We ended up going down the staircase rather than up as we went to Fort Fincastle first. Anyway, it was a inexpensive afternoon for us. We just may opt to stay on the ship this time though.

We will probably do something over at the Atlantis resort, maybe the beach day or water slides. It is the one thing I think our son (4) will really like...maybe he'll go in with dolphins again...he loved that! But it is my husbands 40th birthday so he will get final choice!!!

Hello all! Well, next year's school schedule came out and we changed our cruise plans to go on the December 18th cruise instead. Our schools are out so early and the kids would have missed a couple days and we would not have had the option to drive - plus it was half the price! Anyway, we will miss being a part of the first group to bring in the new year on the Dream, but are looking forward to cruising a couple weeks earlier!

Sorry you're going to miss the New Years cruise, but hey, you are still going to be cruisnin!

I know about the school thing and saving some $'s to boot! Disney announced Kids Sail Free on the Alaska trips through June 7. Our cruise was set for July 12. Luckily, our girls get out on 5/26 so we rebooked for 5/31 and saved $2800! They won't miss any school and we are on the same itinerary. Good deal.

Have fun on your cruise.

Linda

We haven't decided what to do in Nassau yet, as it will only be the two of us. Last time, we went to the Straw Market, but we don't really need to shop. I'll be reading for your recommendations, though :)

Another idea/question:

Are there any creative Disers here who might want to come up with a NYE Dream cruise logo for us that we could print for magnets or something? I know I'm not participating in FE but it would be fun to meet up with other people :)
