Disney dream - 01-30-11

Thank you! I truly feel as if the cruises are just around the corner. We all booked the first day on the Panama Canal cruise and have had months and months to plan!

Carol and I originally wanted to do the MV B2B but the guys said no! So we booked the PC. We're happy to be here! Yeah!!!:banana::banana:

we're going!! we're also on the maiden voyage!!! 8 days total on the dream!!!

Awesome....now we just have to wait it out!!! Were you able to get the same cabin for both cruises? We were not as we decided on the Jan 30th cruise a few weeks after we booked the MV on the first day. We are on Deck 2 first cruise and then Deck 8 for second cruise.

MJ

we were booked in 2 different rooms but asked our ta to keep an eye out for the same stateroom on both cruises & she just found one earlier this week!!! if u don't have a ta call & ask disney to link both ressies & make a note saying u would like the same stateroom for both!!!

I probably could have gotten the same cabin but on the MV we are on Deck 2in Cat 9B (that was all we could get at the time...but I am happy with it). On on 01/30/10 cruise we moved up to Deck 8 for a Cat 9A in one of those large corner rooms....so I am sure I could move down to Deck 2 for this cruise but I really want to check out the larger cat 9 cabins....so....I don't mind packing up and moving!! I know the person in the cabin on the MV that we have on the 30th and they are not giving it up!!! LOL!!!

But, I did get a call this weekend from my TA to tell me that this cruise went down in price by almost $350 for a Cat 9B....so check with DCL or your TA's to see if your or anybody elses cruise price went down as well.

thanks a bunch!!! i will definitely check today & post the results!!!

If anyone else gets a cabin discount, please let us know. I'm in an 11B and am hoping for some more money to spend in the gift shops!!:banana::banana:

ok. so i checked. i am not elligible for the cabin discount but my dad's stateroom was reduced approximately $400. i think the staterooms that were reduced were in categories 6, 8 & 9. if your travel agent hasn't contacted u all yet then i would contact them!!!

We are getting a cabin discount. We are a 9 something. We thought about upgrading but decided not to. I'm not real found of packing and unpacking, LOL.

It certainly doesn't hurt for everyone to contact their TA if they have one.

We also got the discount but we decided to upgrade to a Cat 6 from a Cat 9 just so we can see the different rooms, to do this we paid $34. We are on the very back of the ship now on Deck 10.

Hi all,
I'm thinking of booking on this cruise. I can't remember. If I book now, is there a cancellation fee if I cancel 75+ days out? I see category 9a & b are cheaper than the lower categories right now, exciting.

Thanks. I called and it seems Nov 16th is the cutoff day with no penalties. So I booked!:cool1:

January is our 30th wedding anniversary. We're just doing the 4 nights. Due to obligations at home, we feel we can't be gone longer right now. So does anyone know what kind of celebration type things we could do on this short trip? I know Disney does the customary celebration cake. I read on the disboards that someone said they ordered a cake once onboard for a wedding anniversary but read others that said DCL won't do that.:confused3

Also, anyone heard any rumors on the new beach cabanas at Castaway Cay? I'm trying to find out how much one would cost to rent. Probably very expensive, but hey, its our 30th!

Gosh, Kayla. Wish I could help. I knew the prices of the cabanas at one point but forgot. I do remember thinking WOW, pretty expensive. Happy 30th anniversary! We celebrated 35 years this year.

I just found a thread talking about it. Looks like $499 right now. Apparently, Disney is testing the waters and have opened them up to only two October cruises (conceirge suites only).

:rolleyes1 Happy Tuesday everyone!
Well it is official (well close to official)- we are now booked on the MV b2b cruise. For this cruise we will be checking out a new room and a different deck. Kinda worried about deck 2 since it is so low, but we were able to get a mid ship room. So we'll see!

Welcome. We almost got deck 2 midship, but then hubby decided we would try a verandah room at the last minute.
