Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

I love all the Duffy outfits ! I tried to get the boys interested in him .. but no go. They DID get in to the little Vinylmation figures (although they LOST 2 of them )
Anakin sure did make out good !

Sweet! Anakin is so cute! looks like Duffy is going to be decked out for all Disney occasions!

Duffy is currently dressed in Jedi Training Academy attire.

So sad they lost 2 of them already! He likes vinylmation too, but only has a few pins, no figures.

I don't know how long Duffy will keep his interest. When he first got a Duffy, he took Duffy with him everywhere, especially to doc appointments and tests. He no longer sleeps with Duffy and Disney is the only place he takes him occasionally. Though he did buy another 17 inch Duffy with his birthday money from my mom. That one is dressed as a pirate. There was a big duel between the light saber and the sword.

Oh my gracious Tink, that WAS the best practice birthday ever! Lisa only has her one Duffy and he is too small to wear any of the outfits...he has been a great companion though on all of the medical adventures. She puts him in the Build A Bear clothes.

I know you can't wait for May 7 and the results, that is a LONG wait! One thing I didn't understand about his VEEG...whenever David has the testing, they ALWAYS wean him from his seizure meds, I can't understand why they didn't JJ. I don't know how they expected to see seizures if they were suppressing them?

We are so glad we had the practice birthday!

When dh's grandma passed away his return flight was on Anakin's actual birthday. We weren't sure how everything was going to go. Up north where he was flying from was to have bad weather, and down south here were severe storm watches and possible tornadoes. DH's flight was to continue flying to the keys. The remainder of that flight was cancelled upon landing in Tampa. They were bused to Orlando to fly to the keys at a later time when the weather was better.

We were home with DH by lunch time! There was no cake, he wanted to go to McDonalds for a hot caramel sundae. It was just the 4 of us. Stayed at home playing building legos. Grumpy left home in the late afternoon to pick up his prom date and head to his semi-formal prom.

I asked that same question at our first appointment because he had just had a medicine INCREASE 2 weeks prior, which was his first med increase since July. The neuro said that after reviewing all his records and MRI CDs that he was confident they would see the firing from the cortical dysplasia. Which they did. It fired from centro/temporal to frontal, and no seizures resulted. The appointment on May 7 is to go over treatment options.

Actually, as I re-read this it sounded like GOOD news! If the medicine is taking care of the issue, then maybe surgery can be postponed for a while?!? Look, NOW I am trying to interpret for others,not just us...I will stop! Don't you just LOVE having to wait such a long time to see the very busy/sought after docs....she says with sarcasm....Have a beautiful day friend, I can't believe you have another trip so close!

Last night was another night with cluster seizures. Once again we gave him one of those magic bullets and within thirty minutes he stopped completely and was sleeping soundly. Us on the other hand, not so soundly, lol.

He went to the orthodontist early this morning. They are pleased with his top teeth. He goes back in 6 months for another check. While we were there, I asked about if he knew a good pediatric dentist whose office was not chaotic. He gave a recommendation then went and called the dentist himself. The dentist wants to consult with Anakin and also contact the neurologist to see the best way to sedate him for the work that needs done.

Last night we realized that he only has 10 more days of lessons for 1st grade!! Guess it's time to order the 2nd grade material.

He is making some progress in his reading. Not quite up to where he was before he regressed, but he is beginning to remember and catching on quickly. I'm so thankful for one of the women in my Bible study. She has her masters as a reading specialist and has been giving me great pointers. In math, he is doing triple digit addition and subtraction and started simple multiplication yesterday. He's even using his fingers less!

Thanks. The food court was nice and empty. We practically had the place to ourselves. We sat in the section by the icecream. There was only our table and 2 other tables occupied! It was perfect!

You don't have to stop. That was the conclusion I came to too. Especially after the NP said that the spiking and no seizures means his medicine is working. But then she had me second guessing after saying that the neuro wants to meet with both dh and I on the follow up about our options such as medicine and surgery.

The only reason we have to wait so long is that I had to find a day where both the neuro AND dh could meet. Originally they had us scheduled with the NP on May 1. So this pushed us back to May 7. Anakin and I could have gone any day and anytime the neuro was available.

Now I am late...oh well....

That is very similar to how I've always eaten my sweet potatoes with lots of butter and brown sugar. Many restaurants down here have some kind of cinnamon butter.

Seeing the before pictures and x-rays to how his smile looks now is just so amazing!

She had me start at the very beginning and not move forward until he had a good grasp on the very basics all over again. She stressed how important it is that he enjoy reading and not to let it frustrate him. She has been such a blessing.

I am so happy for both of these blessings! I was looking at pics I posted of Rachel yesterday and what a difference 6 months has made in her teeth. I get it. I REALLY understand about the reading and regression, so thankful you have someone to help/guide you!

That's great news about Rachel's teeth!

Does David still have issues with regression? We are so thankful for our "reading angel". She has been such a blessing. The last week we are seeing a huge difference in his learning. He is grasping things easier and we are seeing less of the deer in headlights look. He seems more aware.

I've had the same thing happen to me here and on other threads. Maybe it was during the upgrade and posts got lost?

My mom is one to put alot of thought into the card too. I would love to be able to linger and read, but shopping with Anakin is not an easy task. He goes very Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde due to the flourescent lighting. We try to get in and out of stores very fast.

Maybe some day there will be a magic bullet for that too, lol. I know I drink way too much with caffeine in it. Classic Coca-cola is my downfall.

Twice this weekend we headed to Disney. Saturday we ended up at the MK to meet up with bouncycat and family. It was crazy hot on Saturday. We played one round of sorcerers of the magic kingdom, gave Tyler 20 Sorcerer's cards, and went to Philharmagic them. It was alot of fun, but it was just TOO HOT!! Anakin did not do well in that heat. They left a little before us because bouncycat's dh wasn't feeling well and we left shortly after them.

Yesterday, on the other hand, was a truely magical day at the MK. We stayed much longer than we had anticipated because the weather was truely amazing!!

When we arrived it was hot and sunny. Shortly afterwards, the clouds rolled in and it was overcast and windy, but the temperature was PERFECT!!

Our plans yesterday:

1. Park at Epcot.
2. Take the monorail over to MK
3. Pick up Sorc of MK cards
4. Buy an orange bird souvenEAR cup
5. Meet up with friends at the American Pavillion at 5:30 for supper before they go to see the Flower Power Concert

Here is what happened:

1. Yes, we parked at Epcot! We had our first DIS encounter of the day where you show your pass or pay to park. Bellebookworm9 was the cm who checked our AP for parking. She is on the CP and has a fantastic food report ongoing, http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2844437 We met her once when she first started the CP and rode a couple attractions with her, but this was the first time seeing her in costume working.

2. Take monorail over to the MK. Yes, we did this too! We were on monorail teal heading to the TTC, then the Avengers monorail heading to the MK.

3. Pick up SMK cards. Yes, we did this too. BUT, with cards in hand Anakin and Goofy just had to play. Sooooo I got in line at the Sunshine Tree Terrace and Anakin and Goofy played.

4. I stood in line for the Orange Bird for over 30 minutes. The queue extended out towards the Aladin ride. It was the longest I every saw it. Made Anakin and Grumpy happy as they nearly finished a round of SMK in the time I waited in the queue.

Standing in the hot sun was draining. I started to feel lightheaded. Just as I felt like I might pass out, Grumpy and Anakin had their next portal at the Sunshine Tree portal. I was able to grab a water out of our cooler bag, and felt much better. Anakin was minding the heat and the plan was to leave for Epcot as soon as I got the bird cup.

They were done with the portal and there were still 3 people ahead of me. Their next portal was at Tortuga Tavern. So they headed there and I would meet up with them as soon as I got the drinks.

The Orange Bird souvenEAR cup comes filled with soda. Anakin doesn't drink soda, so I asked the cm if I could have an empty cup, purchase an orange juice to put in the bird cup, and have the soda that comes in the orange bird placed in a regular cup? He thought that was a great idea and said that solves a question for him.

He said so many guests are upset that the Orange Bird comes with soda and not orange juice. I agree. It should come with orange juice. I think the Sunshine Tree needs an orange juice fountain so that it can!!

There was a line for SMK at Tortuga Tavern, so I was there before they finished. The tavern was closed, so I sat at a table near the portal and poured the OJ into the orange bird. There was a young woman in line ahead of Anakin. He was busy telling her all about the game. She had just started playing. After his turn we passed by a table of people trading smk cards. They asked him if he wanted any cards for free. He said, "no thank you. I have them all." Then he realized he should have said he had them all but the young woman was new to the game, he should have asked if she could have them. It was too late til he thought of it and he declared he was hungry.

5. It was now 5pm. There was no way we'd make it to Epcot to eat with our friends. I texted that maybe we'd see them after their show. They understood. We headed to Columbia Harbour House.

We entered the restaurant and a cm greeted us inside with a menu. He asked how old Anakin was and what grade he was in. He did it in a derogatory fashion. We could tell he was questioning the stroller and the Duffy. A cm at the register beside where we were ordering, came out from behind there and talked to Anakin about Duffy and where he can meet him and where to find Duffy merchandise. She picked up on the other cm right away and tried to make things right. She did a great job.

Once again Goofy got the shrimp and I got the salmon and Anakin got the kid's nuggets.

These are pics from the last time we ate there. Remember the coleslaw conversation about portion size? Well now the portion size was even smaller. Now it didn't even fill that small soufle cup.

I like lemon squeezed on my salmon. There were now huge lines to order. Nobody was there when we ordered. I went up to the cm who asked about the stroller and asked how I could get a lemon slice. He went right up to the counter and asked one of the cms getting drinks. He was handed a cup and passed the cup along to me. I thanked him and felt we made ammends and all was good.

Got back to the table and opened the cup. I swear there was almost a WHOLE lemon!! 3 giant slices. I ended up using 2 of them on the salmon. The lemon also tasted good on the cous cous and the broccoli.

Just about this time, I got a text. Someone very special was coming to the MK for her very first Disney visit...

Outrage is all I can say about that CM. You know we have the exact same chair and I would NOT be happy with someone who ridiculed Lisa for being in hers...Happy for the kindness of the other CM! Glad you got some water before you became too ill!
