Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

Star Wars Weekends are around the corner! All 4 of us are getting psyched!

This year's theme is based on Episode I. Darth Duck and Darth Maul takes center stage in much of the merchandise and promotions.

This was posted yesterday on the SWW tip thread and sounds very interesting.

New merchandise offerings:
Guests can build their own droid action figure at the Droid Factory in Tatooine Traders.
Not to miss is the new Carbon Freeze experience. Have your likeness captured as a three-dimensional, 8-inch figurine, reminiscent of a scene from
“Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back.” Reservations are required
and can be made by calling 407-WDWTECH (407-939-8324), beginning May
4. Cost is $99.95 plus tax and it takes 3-4 weeks for it to arrive via mail. This will take place inside Sounds Dangerous.

and the same person also posted this link that the famous Darth Vader cupcake is back.

Happy May the Fourth Be With You Day :cool1: and here's a look at the all desired Darth Vader cupcake coming for SWW: http://www.studioscentral.com/blog/2012/05/04/behold-darth-vader-cupcake-star-wars-weekends

Once again, I would love to be able to eat chocolate and try this one. I make a killer dark chocolate with peanut butter icing cake. Dh says my cake is better, but the peanut butter in the Darth Vader cupcake is better than my pb icing. He likes to be over powered by peanut butter.

know where you'll be opening day!

cupcake sounds yummy!

Between 4 and 5 are our hottest temps of the day according to the hourly report.

Are you near the ocean?

Very cool!

We live by a bay but we are ab out 45 miles from the ocean itself. We leave in between San Francisco and Sacramento. I don't know how familiar you are with air force bases but we live near Travis Air Force Base.

I sure hope to be there opening day. That's also the day I have to turn in all the grades for both boys. So it might just be an evening, hit Hyperspace Hoopla and check out the merchadise in Darth Mall.

Nice!

I'm back.....

I love all the interaction between Anakin and the CMs...looks like they too have a special place in their heart for this sweet boy! Lucky mom with all those stickers...I shudder to think what Goo would do with them.

What a beautiful Disney Princess and great DIS meet...:)

The extra pixie dust is very nice!!

I found one sticker on the wall, which I tried to remove and throw away, but Anakin saw it and in no time dug it out of the garbage and put it in his "scrap" book. All the rest of the stickers were placed in a special spot he has for stickers. When he was going to OT and PT he'd get a sticker. He saved almost every one of them and he guards them.

Well stickers are a nice little souvenir. I know that my kids loved stickers when they were Anakin's age.

Tomorrow we go back to the new neuro to discuss treatment options.

Anakin is so excited to be at the end of his school books. He finished all his math tests and speed drills tonight. Yesterday he worked on other subjects so he can take a day off tomorrow. If all goes as planned he should have every subject except reading finished by next Monday!

He has made great progress the last week or so in his school work. He seems so much more "with it". He has been seizure free since the 26th. I thought it was since the 20th, but saw I overlooked the 26th when I checked the seizure calendar. So he is 10 days seizure free! There has also been less meltdowns and anxiety. That really helps so much!!

I'm interested to see how much he's grown. According to our wall chart it looks like 2 inches in the last month!

Grumpy did freshman orientation. This week he goes for cap and gown pictures. He is also assistant coach with his old football team. They are doing flag football now. But he will continue coaching when they switch to tackle football. He loves the coaching, but it's a volunteer position. Hopefully he will find a paying job soon, though he is in no hurry because of football which he loves.

He loves stickers!! His only problem is that he becomes emotionally attatched to each and every one. If one goes missing, he mourns it terribly. If he decides to wear one, it's a battle over the paper behind the sticker. He wants to save the garbage. Same with gum wrappers. Boxes from toys. Plastic from boxes. We have such a hard time getting him to part with things. Pencil boxes have worked great with the gum wrappers. We tell him he can keep a pencil box full of his "treasures". Any overflow goes in the garbage.

I hope that the new neurologist has a workable plan. Ten days seizure free is a big step in the right direction.

I am glad to hear that school is on track and moving well. The fact that there are less melt downs has got to be a good feeling.

Grumpy has some exciting things going on for him right now. How fun that he has the coaching. Even though he is a volunteer it will look good on job applications and on a resume. It is considered experience.

Pencil boxes are brilliant. I love those and the plastic shoe boxes. They are small and stackable.:thumbsup2

Just poppin' in to say HI and Yay for 10 days seizure free !!!!

Thanks for poppin' in! Hope all is well with you!

Good luck at the doctor's appointment today!

The appointment went well, but once we got home we began to think of so many questions we forgot to ask. I even had them written down!

He decided to increase the nighttime dose of seizure med since his spiking is worse at night. Last night he slept like a log. Even in REM we didn't see any myoclonic twitching. That's a first since last June.

He will start another medication as an add on for anxiety. They were able to see on the VEEG how he worried so much about his belongings at home while he was there.

I have to call the neuro about the med and I think I will probably contact the manufacturer. It's not recommending in children under age 12 (though he weighs as much as a 12 year old) and it's not recommended for more than 8 weeks. We don't go back to the doc for 3 months. There also is a warning about using care in a patient with a history of seizure...uh...hello! Just need to call to verify that the neuro is aware of this and to make sure he's used it on other children.

I hate when I have a list of questions and I still get side tracked. It sounds like the myoclonic twitching is improving.

I would call for sure. It never hurts to double check. I hope that the anxiety medicine helps Anakin. Anxiety attacks can be so debilitating WBG used to suffer from them. Kody has problems with them too. I am getting help for her.

Our Magical Mondays brought us to Orlando for an appointment. After the appointment it was almost lunch time, but not quite when we left the neurologist.

DH suggested we stop at Walmart and look at all the Disney merchandise they have. I sure wish our Walmart carried all that stuff!! There were mugs, cups, beach towels, clothing, flips, fanny packs, back packs, hand bags, etc.

Got Grumpy a Grumpy mug and 2 Grumpy shirts. Got Anakin one of those squirter bottle fans with Mickey Mouse on it.

I got my mom a disney bag. Her beach bag is a small bag that is all beat up from years and years of use. I thought this looked so nice and she can use it for other things as well.

Got my dad a little back pack thing

Once we checked out it was around 11am. We decided the Pepper Market was calling!! It's been a long time since we ate there. We arrived just before 11:30 so Anakin tried out his squirter bottle fan.

Wivy was our server and she was amazing!! It wasn't busy. I think we were her only table. If not, she sure made us feel like we were.

The food was so fresh and delicious. I had a small chicken enchilada (burned my thumb when sauce dripped on it when I was plating it) and a slice of chicken quesadilla. From previous experience I knew to stand at the side counter to ask for guacamole. Oh I love guacomole. Or as Anakin would say, "I love me, my guacamole!" The chef had just been there and my timing was bad.

Do you remember the time I waited and waited and everyone looked at me, but nobody would come over there or get the person who was suppose to be there? Not this time. The chef over at the sandwich station saw me. I could see him searching for the other chef from his station. He didn't see him either. He acknowledged my presence, while still looking. When he still didn't see him, he came over to the station and got the sour cream and guacamole for me. I thanked him, maybe over enthusiastically? But I was so excited for that guacamole. That and the churros with icecream keep me coming back!!

Goofy had a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I think the sandwiches are the only things he didn't sample.

He and Anakin went up for 2nds, but came back with this.

churrosoftserve.jpg

At first glance, I thought it was onion rings and icecream. I was ready to ask where he found onion rings, when he exclaimed, "look the churros are round now!"

Anakin had chocolate ice cream with M&M's. Remember how a short while back we thought chocolate was a trigger. Learned through the VEEG it wasn't, guess it was the lower dose of medication causing all that trouble a few weeks back. For lunch, he had pizza, bread stick, and fruit. This was the first time he ever ate their pizza. They must have changed the recipe or something because he said it was great!

From CSR we decided to go to the MK to play SMK. DH's key was ready to start the last round. We were sent to Frontierland for this round. All our previous levels were completed in Fantasyland. As we were on our last portal, we met a fellow sorcerer who kept getting sent to this portal. His entire round sent him to that one portal. He said it was odd, he didn't mind since he didn't have to walk all over. We finished our round, became master sorcerers again, and then it was that guys turn again, lol. We headed over to the SMK kiosk behind the Christmas shoppe. They gave Anakin another pack of cards and asked us where we would like to continue the game. I picked Fantasyland so we wouldn't have parade traffic to deal with.

mastersorc.jpg

It was hot outside, 88 degrees and humid. We didn't want Anakin out in the heat too long so we headed over to the hall of presidents to cool down. We decided it was too hot to do another round. We went to Tomorrowland and rode Buzz, then headed to Main St. to see Mickey and Minnie.

Anakin got his first every 999999 on Buzz!!! Yay, congrats to him!! I got 300 some thousand and dh got 600 some thousand. Dh's camera on his phone is terrible so we didn't get pics of it. I was in front of them so I couldn't get a pic either.

It wasn't quite parade time, but it was soon. We got to the M&G and asked if they continue during the parade. The cm told us that Mickey is good, he can use magic to get back and forth between the parade and the M&G without anyone noticing!!

The princess M&G was a 10 minute wait. The Mickey M&G was a 25 minute wait. I asked if that was for real?! I have never seen the princess queue that short! She said it was indeed. So we headed to the princesses.

There was literally NO wait. We were the only family in line. Someone did come in through the fast pass line so they went in ahead of us, then it was us.

Anakin was not thrilled about seeing the princesses first. This was a change from plan and he does not transition easily. It wasn't until he thought about the SMK cards that he got the idea to have the princesses sign their own card. Only problem, I didn't have a permanent marker. I did have a Tink pen and a Woody notebook in my bag that I had brought to take notes at the appointment if I needed to. He used that as an autograph book.

His interaction with Cinderella was awesome!! He was telling her about what her spell card does and how the next time he sees her he'll bring the card for her to sign. He was so animated acting out the effects of the card, but he did pose for a picture. I'm sure the photopass pics are interesting.

cindy.jpg

Belle was next in line. He went from excited and animated with Cindy to totally calm with Belle as she stroked his hair and cheek.

belletouch.jpg

My Aurora pics didn't get good at all. But he told her all about her card too.

By the time we were done with the princesses, the times had changed. It was 10 for Mickey and Minnie and 25 for the princesses.

On Mickey Mouse Club House, Pete called Mickey, Mickey the Mouse. So Anakin kept repeating it. It entertained the boy in front of us who also must have seen the same episode.

We were places in a holding room that we weren't in before. Or if we were, I sure don't remember it. There was lot of Scrooge McDuck things.

The parade was over by the time we finished with Mickey and Minnie. We headed to the monorail. Once again, we got the Avenger's monorail. That's ride #3!

I wished I had bought one of those Mickey bags for me. I think it's pretty cute. If memory serves me right, it was $12, but I can't find the receipt. But I prefer bags with long handles to wear on the shoulder.

I thought the little details were great!

hope the new meds will help with thee night issues...good call on double checking the anxiety meds mama!!!

I'll have to call first thing tomorrow or drop off an email. I never did that with a doc before, but there is an email addy to contact them.

The new med is for anxiety. The night time is just an increase by half a tablet on his maintanance meds.

He really needs something done about the anxiety. It's over the top most days. And some days he is totally consumed by what he's worrying about that he can't do anything else. The neuro said that's because of where the dysplasia is located.

While surgery would help stop the seizures, there is no telling if the anxiety would be better or worse after surgery.

I am glad that chocolate was not the trigger and he can enjoy himself now and then with special treats!

OMG...Boo and Goo saw the monorail picture and want to go back right now to ride it. Jeff took them to the drive in last weekend (I stayed home and slept...did not get much while I was in STL...:lmao:) and they LOVED THE MOVIE. Both boys (and Jeff, too) are trying to figure out how to go see it again this weekend...:rolleyes1
