It will be Luke Bryan,Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood again.

And of course Ryan Seacrest will host again as one of his 1000 jobs! lol

Hollywood contestants have the opportunity to visit Disneyland.... what thematic themes does Nashville have to offer the producers to extend our attention.... perhaps a long bus ride to Graceland... Paul Simon....seems like a third of the contestants are already playing the streets of Nashville... dream of the Grand Ole Opry.....more dreams about Hollywood

Hollywood week is just where the final hopefuls compete to make the show. As far as I know, which is very little, the show is still being filmed in Hollywood/Burbank/whatever.

It is only the final 12/10/whatever that visit Disneyland.

Hollywood week has generally been held in Hollywood. This may be the first time it has been held elsewhere.

There are several stages of auditions. First contests have to get past the producers in the area auditions before they even get in front of the judges who then decide if the singer is good enough to move on. Then it is Hollywood week, where they whittle the group down to the 20 or whatever final participants that are going to compete on the show.

I enjoy watching American Idol but prefer the format used on the Voice better. That show seems to do a better job pre-screening contestants and only those who have actual singing ability ever get on the show. The work the Voice coaches do seems more realistic to how talent is developed. American Idol seems to use singing coaches off-cam, but the judges only have minimal involvement with coaching. American Idol in the past used to bring forward some contestants with zero signing ability for the comedy value, but has gotten better the last several years. Once you get to Hollywood (apparently now Nashville) week, you have a smaller group of those who can actually sing.

Any reality show where the viewers help determine the eventual winner will always have an element of subjectivity and clearly only those who watch the show (and vote) will have a say in the results.

Have fun... for the first time I watching elsewhere... going over to extracted on Fox....all the Nashville promotion kinda spoiled the magic of the rawness of the search for me

Didn't realize Jamal has a Grammy nomination until it was mentioned on tonight's show.

Pretty strong-I would think only a handful of Idol participants have had one.

Wonder why they don't show the contestants in the order they appear? Outside you could clearly see it was daytime for some but then nighttime for the next contestant then jumped back to being daytime.

What is all this nonsense of showing us people who've gone through to Hollywood week without getting to see their auditions? I don't like this new 'starting' format. The guy who sang from behind a post at first, (Bryant), has a really nice voice, he's going on my list to keep an eye on during the competition. There were a lot of 'good' auditions, and very few 'nonsense' ones.
