Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

Did you know that Hades has recruited villains to take over the Magic Kingdom and Merlin is recruiting wizards to defeat them? There are portals all over the MK, in places you would have never guessed. This makes Kim Possible at Epcot look like baby’s play. This ups park gaming to nearly the level that VMK was, except VMK was virtual, this is “in real”.
We noticed they were recruiting wizards at the fire station. So we snuck in there and signed up for recruitment. Our park pass was scanned, and we were slipped a map, key card and some magic cards.

Grumpy was selected for the training. He has the best memory of all of us, only made sense.

Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom put Kim Possible to shame, IMHO. It was almost as good as VMK, except that VMK was virtual with just a few real items to collect. This was “in real” and had real items to keep. Great souvenEARS!! Fun game!

All this villain defeating made us hungry. Where do you think we ended up for supper/dinner?

That looks like a lot of fun to me. I wish they did something kike that at DLR. But who know maybe they are doing it now.

how COOL is that :cool1: I hope they plan on keeping that around for awhile, Megan would love to do it! and fun that you get to keep the map and goodies :cool1:

Thats ok .. I'm enjoying your TR's very much !

Yes .. we are all getting very excited ! It's coming fast though. :goodvibes

Thank you!! I'm sure the boys will have a blast! I need to go check out your PTR, it's been a few days since I looked. My phone had no reception at Pop Century and there was no wifi there.

Maybe it's in the works? It was a ton of fun!

It was very cool! Anakin wasn't sure if it was pretend or real. The cm got a kick out of how into it he was. He was very animated and excited!!

I hope it's there for your next trip! Megan will love it!

Not Cosmic Rays. Once again, no chicken. In fact, Grumpy was hungry first and grabbed a bite at the MK, we sat and watched him eat. We weren't hungry then. We ate later elsewhere, while Grumpy stayed in the room. He called his girlfriend and didn't realize we have to pay a fee for roaming calls. I am nervous about that phone bill!! We were gone a couple hours.

Great updates. In all of our stays at CSR, we have never seen a line like that at PM. Although in all fairness, we never eat lunch there...we either do breakfast or an early dinner.

Sorry about the monorail. I sometimes think those CM's are oblivious (and perhaps why the monorail is so erractic in service more so than the shape of the monorails).

The new adventure at the MK looks fun. Mary talked about it for the girls...but we never got around to it.

Thanks! I remember lines like that back in the late 90's with my in-laws at lunch time. That's why we usually eat lunch on vacation at 11am. But every time we've eaten at the PM for lunch it's been after 1pm. It just happened that we ate just after noon on Sunday. It's a good thing we did!!

It's a shame you and the girls didn't get to try that! They would have enjoyed it! Guess another trip needs to be planned to do it ;)

The game looks AWESOME, my guys would love that...sort of reminds me of Magiquest and they think that is a blast!

LOVED the pics of the food, looked YUMMY and YEA for an easy check in!

We were actually yelled at when we tried to take Lisa off of the monorail without help...but I couldn't get them to stop talking long enough to help us, and I didn't want to wait forever to get off or worse, get stuck inside. After that Pete would personally go get them if they ignored us...

As for checking our bags...Lisa's wish trip was the first time we haven't been scrutinized by security like the terrorists we so obviously are....:rotfl2:

The Sorcerer’s of the Magic Kingdom looks AMAZING...how fun to get both of the boys involved together!

They ushered us to the handicap waiting area of the monorail. So it was odd that nobody got a ramp for us. I can understand why nobody was there with a ramp at the MK station. There is a button the cm push to alert the next station about the ramp. With no one helping us out, then there was no alert pushed to let them know at the MK station.

I'd rather have a thorough inspection. If they are going to do a bag inspection, they might as well do it right. Otherwise, why bother having bag inspections?

Lots of fun!! It was so nice to have Grumpy, Happy. There was a bit of problem about the cards. Who would get to keep them when the game was over. Both wanted them and both wanted to collect all 70. So Grumpy went back to the fire station and asked if he could start his own game. He got some of the same cards that we got earlier and a couple different ones. He didn't want to do his quest solo, so he came back to us, and we bounced between quests. Goofy and I fully understood why they suggested doing one per family.

We were surprised at all the people doing Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom. At every portal we had to wait our turn. Many of the people had a ton of cards. Several had stacks about an inch thick rubber banded together. Super Bowl Sunday was the first day the game was to be opened daily. (You'll never guess which park we ended up at the 2nd day, huh?)

We had completed and saved the World twice, once from Jafar and once from the Shadow Man. Hades wasn't too happy with us. He was still recruiting other villians and Merlin still needed some help. There were plenty of others there to help, so we headed to Casey's Corner.

Grumpy shocked us by wanting a hot dog. He never eats hotdogs. The rest of us wanted EoS so we decided to just sit there while he ate. There was no queue there to order, but all the tables inside and outside were taken. I spotted someone leaving and asked if we could snag her table. Grumpy got a chili cheese dog.

HotdogCaseyCorner.jpg

I asked him why he was in the mood for a hotdog. He said he was in the mood for "plastic cheese". He loaded a couple soufle cups with that hot cheese. He dipped both his hotdog and fries in it.

Heading to the TTC by monorail we were once again unassisted.

We got in the car and started to discuss the signs at the TTC. The first one was use both lanes. We came to the conclusion that most drivers at the TTC seem to think it means drive down the middle line and use both lanes at the same time. Perhaps, they also think in black and white. Anakin thought it made perfect sense to him.

The next sign was about the Exotic Driving Experience at the race track. Exotic? Looking up the definition from Dictionary.com we could not figure out how they came up with the word exotic. Perhaps someone here can enlighten me?

Anakin and I were dropped off back at the room and Grumpy and Goofy went to the Bass Pro Shop. Anakin and I watched HSM. I baked sugar cookies the night before we left, so I was munching on them. I got really hungry. Anakin still wasn't hungry. He was too busy singing along with the movie.

The Bass Pro Shop closed at 8, so I didn't expect them back until 8:30. I got a text from tlezendorf saying she was heading back to the MK. I texted back that we had left and were at the room.

The guys came back BEFORE 8pm. Shocking!! Grumpy was so happy about his purchases. He was showing them to me, but I didn't have much clue what it was for. He didn't want to go to DTD so he stayed at the room.

We no sooner got out the door and it started to rain. By the time we reached the car it was pouring!! I texted tlezdendorf that it was raining at POP, she said it wasn't raining at MK. I mentioned heading to DTD and she said she hoped it was less busy than the night before.

DTD was empty. I guess it was between the rain and the Super Bowl.

DtdEmptyRain.jpg

The puddles in the parking lot were deep. My entire shoe got swallowed up in a couple of them. We sloshed into the Lego store. It had been 2 whole weeks since our last stop there. There was something new!!!!

Legoboxanimate.jpg

This is an interactive display!! You take a Lego box up to it. Scan the box. Then the box gets animated on the screen! It was so cool!!!! Not all boxes worked, but most of the bigger ones did.

We made some purchases of new Clone Wars Legos, and headed to EoS. The rain was just a drizzle by this point.

Since Grumpy wasn't with us, Anakin ordered a PB&J sandwich. Goofy said he wasn't hungry so I ordered him a kid's turkey. He is always afraid to order an adult turkey because he doesn't like cranberries or flavored mayo. He won't order special orders. I got a tuna melt.

We split both the turkey sandwich and tuna melt. Anakin wanted to taste the turkey. He loved it!! He ate his sandwich and a fourth of the turkey. After he declared his love for the sandwich, I told him that means he likes mayo and swiss cheese too. Next time he will order the turkey.

We did a little pin trading. We had never noticed the blinking lights in the trees at DTD before. We are usually there during the day time. Anakin just doesn't do well at night with the lights, so we headed back to POP. They built Legos until "pill and bed time". Anakin got his "special milk", but didn't drink it all. He was too full after such a late supper.

"Special milk" is carnation instant breakfast drink. We discovered back in October that if he drinks it before bed, he has much less myoclonic twitching. The neurologist says it's a mineral he's missing, but isn't sure which one. Since it seems to work he said to continue with it. He sure doesn't need that extra 200 calories before bed, but it does make a huge difference.

Unfortunately, since he was so full, he didn't drink most of it. He twitched and twitched all night. Grumpy moved to the floor, and I kept getting wacked occasionally by some of the stronger twitches. His poor little finger and arm moved most of the night. It didn't bother him at all. I could ignore most of it. He also had one partial seizure but it didn't last long. I turned him on his side and fell back to sleep when it was over. Deciding to let him sleep in the morning until he was ready to wake up.

WOW...an argument on the cards from 2 entirely different age groups...Disney is on to something with this game!

Plastic Cheese...yep, sometimes I get that craving too! :rotfl2: Usually not on hot dogs but on tortilla chips!

DTD deserted...wow, how amazing it that! What a great time to enjoy except for the rain and then the lights!

Bass Pro before it closed...:worship::worship::worship: that NEVER happens around here!

I'm not sure what the target market of the wizard game is, but it was a hit with our entire family!

I'm all for it on nachos too!

I hate going shopping with them there. It's usually a good 2 hour trip. But there was no traffic there and not many in the store. They apparently only hit the clearance isle and Grumpy's gift card was spent, :rotfl2:

I forgot to post one of Anakin's most prized purchases! He forgot to bring a stuffed animal. Usually he brings a Duffy or a Pluto. There was a new Duffy, a Goofy Duffy!

Hey Michelle, I saw your trip report link over on Facebook. I guess it's time to confess that I've been a lurker every since you started this trip report. Now that I've "outed myself" I guess I'll have to start posting. ;)

Oh that Duffy is adorable!! I can hardly wait to check out all of the new stuff in the stores.

Yay for Anakin broadening his food choices :thumbsup2 we LOVE EofS always get their Caprese Sandwich, so want one!!!

Plastic cheese :scared1: can't stand that stuff :scared1::scared1: but do love Casey's hotdogs!

the new Duffy is cute!

sorry Anakin had a little seizure, but great you have figured out something to help with his twitches :goodvibes

Plastic cheese? Never heard it called that before. Not a fan of Casey's dogs...give me severe heartburn.

Love the new Duffy.

:welcome::welcome: Thanks for "outing yourself"! Great to have you here. Yes! Please post!!!

This afternoon I came out to the living room to find the Duffy Bears all lined up on the couch, and Anakin smack in the middle of them.

Funny how I managed to pack everything but the kitchen sink and a stuffed animal. I need to do better in May.

It's so rare that he will try something new, especially a food. I knew if I told him there was may and swiss cheese he wouldn't try it. Instead I told him it was hot and the heat made it creamy. Afterwards when I told him what was on it, he said, "I didn't know I'd like that!"

The seizures are a pain, but something we and him are going to have to live with. I'm just so thankful most of his are minor!

I guess I could have called it liquid cheese or cheese sauce. Can you tell I don't have much love for it? LOL.

I bet that was a cute sight with Anakin and the Duffy's. It's great that he is branching out on food, good for him. I know adults that will not ever try different things. Bravo Anakin.
