Disney done differently, (BOG dining updates pages 202 and 203)

Love the sleeping Anakin pic.

Thanks! He has taken many naps over the year at Disney! There was never a need to go back to the room, he could always fall asleep anywhere at any time he was tired. His naps were like clockwork. Too bad he stopped taking them at age 2!

In fact, he would wake us up in the morning at the crack of dawn. "Sun's up!" used to be our wake up call everymorning.

I looked at some of the youtube videos. Now I am a bit apprehensive! I might need to bring ear plugs for him, there is alot of backround noise on them!

I am definately going to have to contact a friend of mine who's daughter recently did the college program at Disney. She worked there at 50's PTC.

My chocolate issues are a really huge intolerance. It use to be only certain brands, but now it is all chocolate. It gives me a hemiplegic migraine. Half of my body will go numb, including my tongue and gums. It's nasty.

Yes, I do recall it being loud sometimes... especially if the server is yelling across the room or making announcements. Earplugs and a warning of the noise may be in order. And don't hesitate to let your hostess and server know about Anakin.

I hope your friend can give you some great advice to make it a wonderful, memorable meal!

I am sorry to hear of your intolerance. I have a friend who is allergic. She came to stay with me for a few days and I kept trying to feed her chocolate, because it was hard for me to remember her allergy. :headache: I'm such a chocoholic, I'd be lost if I developed something, so my heart truly goes out to those who can't enjoy.

Absolutely adore the pic of baby Anakin! That's really cool about his hair!

Happy Mother's Day.

If I have another adult with me, I will cancel the ADR for 50's and do counter service instead. I just can't do counter service when it's just me and Anakin. I need to hold his hand to keep him with me, and that's too hard to do carrying a tray.

I'm so glad love bug season is pretty much over. He reminded me of the dog in Up who is distracted by squirrels. He was catching them left and right, but was completely oblivious to his surroundings. I had to guide him away from the street.

I will be back to catch up on what I have missed later. ENJOY your day!!! I LOVE the baby photo of Anakin, what a sweet photo of you both!

Here is a picture from Anakin's first SSW back in 2004. Grumpy was doing the kid's trivia, and Goofy was out with him there.

Saturday night we headed back to Pop for supper. Before we left, I told Anakin to put his shoes on that we are going to Pop Century. He got so excited! He thought this was the real deal! He was all ready to go on vacation. Every day he asks how many more days. So while he was a bit disappointed that this wasn't our real vacation, he was happy to go there to eat. We love Tables in Wonderland!!

When we arrived at Everything Pop, Anakin noticed new PoC pins for the new movie. He had some birthday money left on a Disney gift card, so he purchased the pins.

Goofy got the tv dinner, fried chicken. I just got hummus and bagel chips. I tasted Goofy's green beans and they were so good!! Goofy ended up going up there and getting me a side of green beans! Anakin got his usual kid's pizza, and our friends got their usual of a Greek Salad. (Pictures in previous posts).

Nearby, there was a CM cleaning tables and sweeping the floor who was wearing a lanyard. Her name is Taylor. She is great! Anakin and Taylor quickly became pin trading buddies. She really made his pin trading magical! She brought other CM over to our table to trade with him. They were all so great with him!

At 6pm, there was the call for the Hustle. We have been there many times at 6pm in the past, but Anakin never had the inclination to check it out. This time, since he met several CM he wanted to see them dance. We went over to check it out and before you know it, he was joining in the fun!

He tried so hard to catch on to the dance, but he just couldn't. It was going to fast for him. He kept bumping into them, and he gave up trying. He felt a bit defeated and said he had to go back to his seat, and he would need to learn the Hustle before we stay here. He sat back down. When the music stopped. Taylor came back to him and said he forgot something. She gave him a badge for doing the dance!

Anakin's brain was working overtime. He thought that maybe since the new PoC were out, maybe the POC Legos were out too. He was right. He used the last of his birthday money to buy a small POC lego. He went back to the table to put it together while the rest of us finished eating.

Taylor stopped back to check out his Lego and they began talking legos. She is a lego fan too. Which gave them even more to talk about! They had some of the same sets! We said our goodbyes to Taylor and said we'd look for her when we come for our vacation!

We headed to Downtown Disney to do some shopping for my niece and nephew. My mom was looking for Winnie the Pooh throws to give them. We found them, and sticker shock got us. At Christmas time, these were 20-something. Now they were $34.95! They are so soft!

Downtown Disney was packed! We circled the parking lot a long time before we found a spot open up. We found a spot long before our friends did. In fact, they drove by us as we were walking. We met up with them at the squirting Stitch. By the time they got to us, Anakin was pretty wet! He was loving getting soaked. But once we left that area, he didn't like the wet feeling anymore.

I'm so glad we didn't bring the stroller to DTD. It was very congested with people. Anakin went into all the stores pin trading. This has made shopping for me possible again!! Yay!!

The other day when we were at Epcot, Goofy bought me a giclee of carousel horses for Mother's Day at the Art of Disney Store. I was curious to see if they had any left at the Art of Disney Store at DTD. They didn't have any giclees left. Goofy bought me the last one they had at Epcot. There was the original picture there. It had a gold frame, my frame is brownish. Here is a pic of the original. If you look closely, Tink is in the harness of the horse. I love my Mother's Day present!! Now I need to find a good place to display it!

When I was there last year, I had a few CM's offer to carry my tray when i was juggling it, and my DD. Maybe if you spot a CM cleaning up or something you can ask them if they could help? :confused3 I don't see why they wouldn't, or couldn't.

Just an idea, in case it ever is just the two of you.

I'd offer to help, but I won't be there during the correct day(s). My DHS is on Thursday June 2ed.

Kind of you to offer!

Once someone offered to carry the tray when they saw me struggling to push the stroller and carry it.

He has grown so much this year and gained so much weight from his medication that it's really hard to push the stroller now. One of these days I need to cave in and cough up the $800+ for a medical stroller.

Yeah, I can understand that! Can I ask how heavy he is now? Did you see that umbrella style one that fits up to 55 lbs that I got for 60 bucks? I saw a photo with him in a very good looking stroller, but figure to mention it in case the one I got would last a little longer. my DD is 50lbs and it is a breeze pushing her in this stroller.

Just another suggestion. :confused3

He weighs 77 pounds. He has gained over 25 pounds since starting his seizure medicine in June.

The stroller we use now, he's had since he was an infant. It pushes lighter weight children great! I use to only need one hand to push, but now I can't make turns without 2 hands.

He is walking more as his endurance is getting a bit better! He walked at DTD on Saturday and we just took some sit breaks. We were there about an hour, so that's great for him to walk that long! He was so proud of himself too!!

Luke also gained weight on the seizure meds. It is a tough thing to deal with. Its great that he is able to walk for longer periiods of time. Luke's PT ordered orthodics for him which have helped with his discomfort greatly, but 2-3 hours is his max without extensive pain. Even then, we would need to take a few breaks. I can only imagine trying to do a CS restaurant alone. I think it would be very difficult. I would be more than happy to help so if you see me give me a shout!

I'm in a group of parents who have children with Epilepsy. So many of them also have the opposite of huge weight losses from the seizure medicine.

Anakin has been discharged from PT. He still goes to OT. What kind of orthodics did they order? He is always complaining that his knees hurt.

sounds like a fun night at POP! you have to love the CM's that take the time to talk to you kids!
Anakin is getting to be a pro with the pin trading :thumbsup2 what a fun activity for him to do!

He had so much fun! He is really into pin trading. It's helping him with social skills, self-control, and patience too!! Much more than CBT has helped!! And we can purchase a bunch of pins for what we were paying for CBT!!

What a fun night at the Pop! And tell Anakin that I still can't do the Hustle right.

his orthodics are lifts that can be inserted in his shoes. They are made especially for him with a good amount of arch support and one lift is built up higher than the other because one of Luke's legs is longer than the other. Luke has chronic hip pain and these are helping him a great deal.
