I have searched for an answer to this, but I think I need a further clarification. Can you use Disney Dollars at the restaurants on site? Is there anywhere that you CANNOT use them in WDW? Or are they like cash everywhere? Thanks for your help!

You can use them everywhere on property, I believe.

Disney Dollars -- currency that can be used on par with U.S. dollars at most Walt Disney World locations.

You can use them at virtually all restaurants and gift shops on site. You can even use them at most of the movable snack carts in the parks. Exceptions are the restaurants at Swan, Dolphin and some places at DTD (but you can use them at the Swan and Dolphin gift shops).

I love disney dollars and save them throughout the year- currently I have 600 disney dollars and ready to spend them on my short xmas trip- I want to decorate my tree this year in all disney.

We have been collecting Disney Dollars for our DD's since last November. They got some for Chirstmas and others for being good (like 20 stickers on their charts and such). They have over $100 each to spend. We are doing this so that they can see how fast the dollars go and start to work on their math a little. Like most kids my DD's think - We can go get another one Momma will just buy it. Or better yet - "I want it!" Funny how they are much more cautious when it is their own money they are spending.

BUt to your question - We use them everywhere. The little stands to get those silly toys or an extra ice cream, the various stores around the theme parks. I usually always ask a CM when we enter the store what their policy is before my DD gets her eyes set on something. With this said I have yet to be told no. As the PP said about the Dolphin and Swan- we have never stayed there. But I have heard that this is true.

Be careful using them at restaurants. I left a $10 Disney Dollar to cover a drink that was not covered by DDP and the server charged it to our room! It was a HUGE pain in the butt to fix when we were checking out of the hotel, too. I don't know if the server didn't know what it was or if she just keyed it in wrong or what.

I will never leave Disney Dollars as payment and walk out after that experience.
