Disney Dollars through Amazon.com?

You all are so smart. Maybe someone here can figure this out!

Knowing that my brother always gives gift cards for Christmas, I requested Disney Dollars. We will be heading down in less than two weeks and could really use the money. Instead, we received $80 for amazon.com. I have looked and looked and can't figure out a way to convert the money to Disney Dollars. Any ideas? Some tricky back-door way?

Have any friends or relatives who order from amazon, or who are planning on buying something they sell on amazon? Maybe they would be willing to give you like $75 cash for your $80 for amazon.

Is there any way you can sell the $80 amazon gift on eBay? Is it a physical gift card/certificate or just an email?

The $80 is in e-mail form and it seems like we're leaving too soon to sell it through e-bay. I like the $75 for $80 idea. If I'd gotten a few weeks ago, I bet some of my friends could have used it to buy Christmas presents! I could send out an e-mail to a couple friends, though.

I was hoping there might be something official, but out-of-the way. For instance, I can change my airline miles into a supercertificate at giftcertificates.com using points.com. THEN I can order gift certificates for all kinds of things. It's weird, and takes a couple weeks, but it works!

Alicia - How do you convert your airline miles into a Supercertificate? I was looking at giftcertificates.com website but I can't see it on there. Are you doing this from your airline site, or using a 3rd party service like points.com?

Hey jgates,

Yes. I use points.com (don't sign up for the "pay" version - the free one works just fine) to convert my American Airlines miles into a super certificate at giftcertificates.com. It sometimes takes up to a week to get the e-mail from them, but it always works out. Once I have a large chunk of money as a supercertificate at giftcertificates.com I can pick and choose what actual gift cards I want sent to my house. The gift cards arrive in the mail pretty fast! I have probably done over $1000 worth of conversions (over three different times) and it's really fun. Since we rarely fly anywhere and I plan on using Southwest in the future, this is a great use for my credit cards' frequent flyer miles.
