We are going to Disney in September. We would like for our kids to "earn" their own spending money between now and then. DD also has a birthday coming up and is asking for disney world gift cards so she can shop all week. :rotfl2: (That's my girl!)

Is there some type of Disney Dollars, or can you use a gift card from the Disney Store while in the World?

Thanks!

Yes, they have disney dollars. We have gotten these for all 3 of our kids birthday's, you can use them like cash. You can also get them gift cards to use in the parks too.

We used the gift cards and I loved them. With 3 kids I got one card for each child, loaded their money on it and used a sharpie to put their name on the card. Then each time they made a purchase, I wrapped their receipt (which showed how much money was left on the card) around the card and put them in a plastic baggie.

Then the next time we stopped to shop I could just look at the receipt wrapped around their card to remind them of how much money they had left. When they made a new purchase, I'd just discard the old receipt and wrap the new one around the card. It made keeping track of their $$ so much easier.

You can even get the disney dollars at your local disney store (if that is more convenient). I called mine a few days ago and they said they still had them but they are in limited increments.

Great idea, Disney Dollars are perfect for children or any guest to have before visiting WDW. Another reason they are better to have than cash in the weeks/months before the trip is you can't spend them anywhere like cash.
