OP~ Thanks so much for sharing this information! I just booked a quick stay over our school's spring break and saved a bundle. Our room is $45 dollars less expensive per night than the best discount that we could find otherwise, which was an AP offer.
I had to call our credit card company and explain what was going on before and after our first attempt to book. When I got to the checkout page on Expedia, it gave me the option to pay in pounds or dollars. I tried both, and both were denied. We received an email from our credit card company's fraud department and had to call the listed number to straighten things out. The charge went through right after the call, and an Expedia confirmation email was sent out immediately after that.
