Last year when we went down we got the free dining. I have been told (not sure if true) that if you stay at a resort where you can cook you don't qualify for the free dining. How does that work with DVC? Anyone who can shed light on this I would apprecate it.:)

If you are staying on DVC points, you can purchase the dining plan at $39.99/day for adults. Still a good deal IMHO. If you are paying rack rate through MCO, I believe you can qualify for the free dining.

If a DVC villa is available for cash through CRO for free dining, you can pay for it and get free dining. So your concept of not getting free dining where you can cook isn't quite right. Free dining usually requires a package purchase.

I have a question on how this pricing works. For instance, we will be arriving late on a Wednesday and leaving early on Sunday. Would we need to purchase the DDP for the Wednesday and Sunday even though we wouldn't need them on those days, or can we just have it for Thursday through Saturday???

You must purchase the plan for the paid days of your stay. Wednesday through Saturday. Any unused credits expire at midnight on Sunday.

Great, this is exactly what I needed to know. I appreciate the information!

Actually, the dining plan is based on the nights of your stay. So if you check in on Wednesday and check out on Sunday, you will have 4 nights of dining plan.
