I'm sure this has been answered before, but I don't remember the answer. Does anyone know if you can have 4 people at the table and order just 3 meals, using only 3 dining plan credits? Or, will Disney make us use 4 dining plan credits because there are 4 people at the table? Our DD doesn't always want a whole meal for herself and likes to share with DH and myself. She is considered an "adult" by Disney's age classification.

Also, I assume that an "appetizer" can be anything listed as either an appetizer, soup or salad. Is that correct?

We normally haven't gotten the dining plan, but will have it on our trip in 2 weeks....thanks to Disney and a problem with their resort inventory at AKV. ::MinnieMo

Have they changed the 2008 dining plan to include an appetizer? The last time I checked appetizers were not included in the plan. :confused3 Now I am curious.

From what I've read, the dining plan includes an appetizer, entree, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage OR a buffet meal for a table service credit. ::MinnieMo

deluxe plan does...reg plan doesnt...appetizers...

you might be seeing the 07 plan..it did include apps and tip..08 plan doesnt tip in either plan.

DS and I split some meals. You cannot split at a buffet like Chef Mickey's or O'Hana. Never had any problems splitting. They only charge for the number of meals you order.

This has been correct up until now, as long as everyone is on the DDP, but who knows what 2008 will bring. Personally, we all order our own meal and maybe sample one another's lunch/dinner.

Personally, we used the DDP in 06 and I ate way too much food. I also saw way too much tipping going on with those inflated big bills. I would have never ordered that much food if I would have been paying for it myself. We hardly ever order appitizers(sp). I think in the future we will be just eating the counter service meals and going to local places to eat in the evenings or downtown disney. I am not going to pay for all that extra that I really don't need anyway. remember nothing is free in life. Looks like disney is trying to make some bucks back on the future plans.

Just got back 12/19 - 12/26 with ddp. We had a situation in which our room 2 adults and 2 kids had ddp, and the other room 2 adults (grandparents) and our third child did not have the ddp. Our plan was to use 2 ts for the four adults and 2 child ts for the three children. Since "sharing" is not allowed, the two adults not on ddp ordered a soup or salad, and then "finished" what could not be eaten by those that ordered the apps, entrees, and desserts from the ddp. No food was wasted and everyone had their fill.

So when we went to a ts and were asked, "Are you on the ddp?" We said some are and some are not. No biggie. We first ordered the ddp meals and then specifically said, the next orders are not on the ddp. We never said that we would share... but you know that the servers knew, they were gracious, the service was great and we tipped extra on the cash meals only.

In your case, I would say "My husband and I will order using the ddp and my daughter, who is a light eater, will order something less for which we'll pay cash... "

We just returned. There were six of us on the ddp. That said , many nights we only ordered 4 or 5 meals. Even doing that we had leftovers and left the table totally full. The waiters did not care at all and even had the kitchen split things onto separate plates for us. It really depended on the restaurant. Some serve way larger portions than others. That left us with extra credits which was good because my oldest child and husband wanted three meals a day instead of the two meals and a snack that the dining plan allows. If you have any ? about meals I would be glad to answer them.
