Disney Dining plan with virgin holidays

I know some people have found it really tricky to get this done from the UK when they have booked a package, but I am sure some if not all did manage in the end. Hopefully one of them will see this post and advise :)

I messed around with the UK Disney site for ages last week trying to price a package with dining for next year, I just could`nt do it. I also tried the American site however I could`nt get a package for longer than 10 days.
We did a package this Aug with dining and booked with an American TA, which worked well, but again that maximum 10 days?? However the dining plan is well, well worth it. So good luck and I hope someone can help you.

Can anyone tell me what the Disney dining package is? I couldnt seem to get to much info from the travel agents. Im not sure how it works or how much it costs?

I rang virgin directly and had them add it to my booking. I warn you they charge more than Disney do though, too much (sorry don't remember exactly how much) so I cancelled it off my booking, which I got charged £25 for!

Anyway, ring Virgin directly and get a quote, then decide. I added up what I thought I would actually spend on food (thankyou allearsnet) and this would have been a loss for me at virgin prices.

I believe Virgin charge £27 per adult. British Airways charge £22 per adult and I think TCD charge £20 per adult.

With Virgin I don't think you can book it on line. You have to ring them direct - which also means you lose your on line booking discount (but I'm happy to stand corrected).

I booked direct with Disney reservations - but then again I booked my flights separate (Virgin) and also hotels with Disney direct. Far cheaper than a package holiday.

The dining package number is 001 407 939 3463 - they might be able to add it for you without booking direct?

I assume thats per day? What do you get for that?

Sorry to be a pain!

Yes it's per day, and you have to book up for the whole of your holiday.

As said above, you get 1 table service, 1 counter service, and 1 snack per day of your stay. This includes tips etc. You can use these as and when in your holiday period (so if you're feeling hungry you could use every one on your 1st day :rotfl2: ).

Some of the restaurants (very few) require 2 table service tickets per meal - Cinderella's Royal Table, Victoria and Alberts for example. Also, some of the "table service" reataurants get booked up very early, so its a good idea to do a lot of planning and book up your restaurants a couple of months in advance.

Does everyone in your party need to be on DDE? I can't see us being able to eat through all of that if it is compulsory to have one/person, but one between two would be good & sufficient!

Everyone in a room needs to be on the package.

Can you tell me when you rang them for a quote please. I rang them today and they say you have to book it locally.

I am sending a formal complaint to Richard Branson at both Virgin holidays headquaters and his home address, the removal of this service and the incorrect statements that it can only be booked locally are unacceptable. Seemingly he doesn't like it when customers are forced to complain to him that way.

Do you have to stay on site to book the dining plan?

Yes it is connected to the number of nights you are staying on disney property. :sunny:

Have you tried phoning Disney as they might be able to add it on and you pay they direct for the dining? You also have to book park tickets as well.

There suggestion cancel and book the hotel and everything with them.

Hi Paula,

I booked my virgin package in May for next october (the week the brochure came out). I rang disney to try and book it directly from them and they said I would have had to have booked a package with them to do this. I should have done my maths first before booking an extortionate dining rate with virgin (compared to disney) and so got stung the £25 admin fee to have it removed. Oh well, you live and learn,
