We are planning on visiting WDW in Sept. and staying at a moderate resort which equals the free dining plan :cool1: Since we are traveling with two little ones (2 1/2 and 3 months) we are wondering what happens if for some reason we end up not being able to use the TS credit for a day Can you just end up using a QS credit if that were to happen? We are hoping for everything to go smoothly, but we are realistic that things may not always go as planned.

1) you can use more than one in one day if you need to.
2) if circumstance come up where you miss a TS and won't be able to use it, your resort concierge may be able to change it over to a CS credit for you.

I had that same question when we were at WDW a few weeks ago -- with 2 kids you just never know when the most planned out day can need to quick "replan". :) I was told, yes, you can trade a quick service meal for a table service meal. Have a great trip!

If you don't think your family can handle a table-service meal every day, you might want to consider looking into a room discount rather than getting the "free dining" package.

Free dining requires you to pay rack rate (full price) for your room and also purchase a $100 photo book. Generally free dining is offered during slower times where room discounts are readily available, through AAA and other sources. You might want to look into that and do the math.

Unless you're excited to try the Disney table-service restaurants, in which case I'd stick with the dining plan.

Thanks for the info. I think we will stick to the plan of the dining plan. I'm sure if we needed to we could use 2 TS in one day if needed...I think the 3 month old will be cooperative and the 2 1/2 yr old goes out to eat quite a bit. I was just wondering what happens worse case scenerio. Using this option will also allow us to go to Chef Mickey's...hopefully if we can get reservations! We are going to book everything next week and then plan from there.

For September you need to start looking for Chef Mickey's reservations now. People have been booking restaurants for September since March, and Chef Mickey's is popular.

I'm pretty sure you can trade a table service for a quick service.

I've said it many times on these boards, and I think its worth mentioning again. The best plans are flexible plans, especially with little ones. We've traveled many, many times with children the ages of yours, and seriously we've only cancelled two reservations due to the little guys. Its likely your littlest person will go along with whatever, since babies this age (at least mine!!) are pretty easy going and sleep a lot. Your 2.5 year old will probably be fascinated with all the theming, and we've been known to take our toddler/preschool-aged kids on "exploring missions" while waiting for food. We'll take the long way to the bathroom, wash hands really slow (as long as its not busy!!), take a different way back to the table, look at pictures on the wall, etc. basically anything to kill time while waiting for food. Most TS restaurants have crayons and coloring pages, and you can always come up with little games and stuff too, depending on the attention span of your child. I think you'll do just fine and will find that the kids will be pretty easy going. Who knows? Maybe they'll BOTH sleep during a meal!! ;)

Go with the flow, be flexible, and have a fantastic trip!! :flower3:

These are great suggestions! Yes, I also think that it will work out fine. I just figured it would be best to have a back up plan just in case. :)
