How strict is DVC in regards to age groups for the dining plan. The 3, 11 year olds that are on the ressie are very picky eaters. They always order from the childrens menu when we go out. I just think the adult menus is way to much for them. What have you experianced?

When you add the DDP to your reservations, they will ask you how many adults and how many children. Unfortunately, your 11 year old will fall under the adult category but your 3 year old will be safe. From our experience, this means your 11 year old will have to order from the adult menu whether he eats it all or not. This is especially true if you do a table service meal.

You might want to check the DDP board for more info. Over there, a number of posters have reported success with an "adult" 10-11 year old being allowed to order off the kids menu. However, you're going to pay adult price for the 11 year old -- not only for DDP, but also for park tickets.

If the 11 year-old doesn't want the appy, or part of the entree, or dessert, there is no reason why they can't share that with someone else on the dining plan. It is, however, a no-no to share with someone NOT on the dining plan.

Since the rules for using the DDP are the same no matter how you add it to the reservation (DVC or CRO package), I am moving the thread to the DDP Forum.
