Does anyone have any experience using this card? We will be visiting WDW with a group of 7 adults 2 infants for a week in Nov.
Grandparents are Fla residents so they will be able to purchase the card. They will be with us for all of the resort meals but probably not the theme park meals. Will we still be able to use the card if they are not present? Also, it is a discount of 20% for up to 6 people, will they let us get the discount for 6 and pay full price for the 7th persons meal? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

When my mom used it when we were along...she always had to show her drivers license.....I think once or twice they let us discount the entire group 8.....

I have had to show my license as well. Not always, but occasionally. More at the resorts than the parks. The cardholder is supposed to be present. I have gotten the discount for a party of 8 and a party of 10 before with no issues.

We've had a DDE card for the last year and are using it on our current trip as well. I've only been asked for ID once this trip so far but we've been paying by credit card which has the same name as the DDE card, so if your names are different you probably won't be able to use it unless their present.

Not sure about the amout of people we've been able to get discounted. I should have looked at the discount last night as we were 7 but dh took care of it.

Be prepared to show photo i.d. when using the DDE. Be prepared for serious issues when trying to use the card in the AK. NO ONE there, except for guest relations seems to understand the card, particularly the fact that the discount applies to both food and alcohol.

I've had so many problems with the card there, I did not renew mine this year. I'll stick with the AP and DVC discounts. They are far less hassle to use.

Thanks for the heads up about AK. We seldom frequent this park, but good to know that if we do we may have some issues using the card. So infrequently in fact, that I just had to look up where we could use it at AK. A few years ago, when they added more Epcot restaurants to the card, I carried around the sleeve that came with the card that lists all the participating restaurants. It came in handy in Mexico, where they had no idea what it was either. I'll have to see if I can find the sleeve.. The 20% off in the resorts makes it worth a bit of a hassle in the parks. I will be using it in March at V&A's (not chef's table) and that will totally make up for the price.
