Disney Dining Experience...changes?

OK.

I am confused. I posted over on the Disney Dining Plan subforum and got two kind of different answers, so am breaking this out into a completely separate thread.

I have a DDE (Disney Dining Experience) membership. It is my understanding that the DDE (along with the DDP) will be undergoing some changes starting January 2008.

I *think* the main DDE change is as follows...
Starting January 2008, an automatic 18% gratuity will be added to your bill BEFORE the 20% discount.
BUT
the DDE change could also be merely printing what the 18% tip would be PRE-discount directly on the bill.

I might be mistaken, so if folks could just post their clear understanding of the upcoming DDE changes on this thread, it would be very helpful.

I would not count on it.
Last time I experienced a DDE change I rec'd no notification and found out at the restuarant when I went to use my card. I was sure they were wrong, then read the Dis and confirmed the change with DDE.
Heck, DDE does not even mail us renewal forms, let alone changes to the membership.
Subject to change without notice.

Noone has a clear understanding because everything so far is rumor. I'm sure that is why you are hearing conflicting things.

I don't think there will be an answer until it actually happens.
