First of all, if this has been asked recently, I'm sorry. Search doesn't seem to be working this afternoon.

Has anyone ordered a DDE card recently and how long did it take to get it? I'm trying to figure out how soon before our trip I need to order one.

Thank you.

If you have to have the official card in hand, you should order several weeks out just to be sure.

**However, if a temporary card is ok with you, you can order at any time. On our last trip, I upgraded to an AP and decided to get the DDE. The ticket window gave me the number to call. I called that morning, gave them my AP number and credit card info, and was able to pick up the temporary card at EPCOT that same day after 5 or 5:30 (depending on who was giving me the time info, lol). The temp card is good as soon as you have it. My official card arrived about 2 weeks after I ordered.

In March my DD and I did an unplanned trip. I called the DDE number to see if I could get a temp card (didn't have it with me) and found out it was a few days expired. I renewed on the phone and they had the temp ready for me the next day for pick up at Epcot (outside the front gate in the information booth near the bus stops). I think the real card arrived at my house about two to three weeks later.

I just renewed mine. I thought I was cutting it close. I ordered with only 3 weeks before my departure. They said it would take 3 to 4 weeks to receive the card, but I received it in 2 weeks. I may have been lucky, so I would count on 3-4 weeks.

I ordered my DDE renewal around the first week of March and I did not receive the card until April 8 - about 5 weeks total.

So, on my next trip I can buy my annual pass at Shades of Green and then call for DDE and pick up a temp card at Epcot?

ORDERED 3/21/06 RECEIVED 4/08/06

IT took 16 days for mine to arrive in the mail. The web site says 2 weeks, but the CM said 6 weeks.

THey did say that if it didn't arrive in time, there would be a temp card waiting for me at the Epcot Guest Services area outside the main entrance to Epcot. FOrtunately, it arrived in the last mail before we left.

Thank you all. I guess I'll order it about 3 weeks before and hope I get the permanent one in time. I was trying to order it so it wouldn't expire before I needed it for next year. Too bad you can't "activate" it at the park the way you do annual passes.

Yes, I waited as long as I could too...for the same reason ;) I ordered mine on: 3-27-06 and received it on: 4-13-06 (it expires on 4-30-07)--seems to be averaging 2 1/2 weeks, so they're pretty much "on the money" when they quote the 2-3 week time frame (unless they get lost in the mail like ours did last year).

Do you have to be an annual passholder in order to take advantage of the DDE and would Small World Vacations be able to order this for us should we choose to buy an AP? Thanks

You have be an annual passholder or a Florida resident in order to qualify for a DDE membership.
