Disney Dining 2009 - appetizer?

I called and they said the apps are for the deluxe only. I printed it too, can only hope!

I just spoke with CM #2. This one says only the children (3-9) get an appetizer (as stated in the PDF file). I helped her navigate to the MYW plus dining page that states appetizer included with the adult TS. She says it is a mistake and the adults will not get an appetizer. Only the children will get an appetizer. Does that seem a little odd to anyone else. I mean, do most children ages 3-9 really eat that much that they need an appetizer to go with their entree? It just seems strange that they would give an appetizer to the children. Of course, we usually order the appetizer and split it among the entire table so it really isn't a problem. It just seemed odd. Lucky for us, I guess, we have two children and two adults on the dining plan. Maybe this appetizer thing will come true. We shall see.

I can't even understand having appetizers for 3-9yr olds, anyway. :confused3 This seems odd to me... What kind of appetizers are those? Just regular appetizers that anyone would order? What kid is going to eat a meal after having appetizers? :headache: OK, my head hurts...;)
Really though....?

I have been debating the ddp so I have been checking out the menus and I think the kids apps are only if it's on the kids menu like: cup of soup or salad. Not like the good apps that adults want.

Right, they aren't what you'd normally consider appetizers for adults, more of a 'starter' that you get at some restaurants. The only reason that they're there is because a few years ago Disney became 'committed' to Children's health and wants to offer only meals that offer items from all of the basic food groups.

My daughter always has a cup of soup or salad before her meal. :)

She has no problem eatier her meal.... she will even order soup and salad at a non disney eatery. She is a little "different" though.

This page also states that reservations can be made 90 days in advance. Isn't that new in just the last few days? So it looks to me like the page must be up-to-date. I was ready to cancel DDP because I want appetizers, not desserts. Now I will wait and see.

the kids 'app' is carrot sticks, grapes, things like that

hey, they had to put something into the ears, right? :lmao:

at the signatures there may be a few additional choices, but soup is not on most kids menus (nor salad)

Salad and Soup were on Several of the menus for the kiddos when we went in May:

Concourse Steakhouse (gone now)
50's PrimeTime Cafe
Le Cellier
Tutto Italia
Sci Fi

Just to name a few.

:)

OK Now it makes sense to me!:rotfl:

CMs make errors all the time, I think this may be one of those times.

If you're familiar with the Disneyworld.com site you'll notice it recently went through a major overhaul. I think the techies and marketing folks missed this typo. I'd check back in a few days, Disney will likely make the updates.

It would be nice to get those appetizers back, but it goes against Disney's strategy, so I doubt it has actually changed. This would be perceived as a big deal for guests, Disney would have likely sent out a press release announcing the add back.

Sleep well dreaming of appetizers on the Basic plan, but Christmas really is over.

Well, I hope appetizer starts back. We have not bought the DDP since they took the appetizer off. We just order what we want and still spend just about the same with the DDE card. If the appetizer comes back, I will sure start buying the DDP again!;)

Did you sleep well, dream vividly?

I checked this morning and Disney has corrected the site, fun while it lasted, but its over. As Shakespeare said "Much Ado About Nothing", alas.

I thought it had to be a typo on the website. It's a shame that the Disney can't seem to properly proofread their documents prior to publishing them.

I just realized this today! I just assumed that apps would be included at dinner. Now I'm remembering what my dad always said about assuming...
Well that just stinks. I had decided on the DDP this morning. Now I'm back to reconsidering DxDP. I'm spending way too much time planning meals for this vacation. More then I ever have for any vacation before. Back to the drawing board with the Math! Bah! :headache:

I just found this site. Wow what an overload.

I just booked my first trip to WDW in 18 years this weekend. I booked it with the DDP when it said appetizers were included. Of course I didn't print it out and now they have changed the page. This is clearly a case of bait & switch. While I understand that mistakes happen, I made my decision based on the information they provided.

If anyone that printed out a hard copy or a pdf of the offer please send me a copy I would truly appreciate it. "Framemakers@hotmail.com"

Thanks
Dave

We are here right now! DH and I booked the Mama Mia's Restaurant for Fantasmic with our DDP and we each got an appetizer! We asked 3 times we thought it was a mistake. Nope. We were so full we couldn't eat any more that day in the park! We had a late lunch time of 3:40pm so we planned to use our counter later as a dinner and never used it! We are using it instead for our last day.
