Disney Dining 2009 - appetizer?

We are here right now! DH and I booked the Mama Mia's Restaurant for Fantasmic with our DDP and we each got an appetizer! We asked 3 times we thought it was a mistake. Nope. We were so full we couldn't eat any more that day in the park! We had a late lunch time of 3:40pm so we planned to use our counter later as a dinner and never used it! We are using it instead for our last day.

That's good to know that they haven't altered the Fantasmic Dining Package for 2009.

Any package meal that includes an appetizer as part of that package price will include the appetizer with the meal.

This has been std procedure, even in 2008 when the appetizer was no longer included in the basic DP. Glad that you got the appetizers!

If you don't want the DP w/o appetizers, do the right thing call Disney now tell them what you saw that you've changed your mind and you'd like to cancel the DP. I don't think there would be much of an issue. However, to arrive at WDW and make a stink about a clerical error, well let's just say not a very magical way to spend vacation time. Not so much yours, but all the other guests that would have to witness the "struggle".

Finally, the whole matter of appetizers is a moot point at buffets or All You Care to Eat meals. So for many TS meals we can have an "appetizer" if we want.

Now in 2007, I loved my crab cake appetizer at Narcoossee's, but honestly if it had not been included I might have been able to finish my meal and order a dessert. As it was I tasted my Mom's and nephew's dessert and was pretty full leaving Narcoossee's. :rotfl2:

Not always! The Candlelight Processional dinner packages in 2008 did not include the appetizer for basic dining users.

I am so ignorant!! We went in 2006 and LOVED the DDP. I knew that gratuity was no longer included but I booked our May trip and had NO idea apps were no longer included! We had thought about using the QS plan and that might be enough to tip me over the edge in that direction. DD 14 mos, will probably not enjoy lingering over 7 table service meals anyway. Maybe we will just pay out of pocket for a character meal.

When did they drop apps? 2007??

They dropped the appetizers in January 2008.

But, you can still get appetizers if you book the deluxe dining plan (for $71.99 per night per adult).

because on the links ya'll posted, I see no reference to apps on the adult credits. Waaah....I'm really on the fence about the DDP for our June trip. The apps would put me over the edge. Not that we *need* more food, but the apps are so good in so many places that we'd end up paying for them oop anyway. It would be really nice if they included them - or even allowed exchanging a dessert (not to bring that beehive up again, but it WOULD be nice -- a girl can dream, can't she?).

Well, I hope appetizer starts back. We have not bought the DDP since they took the appetizer off. We just order what we want and still spend just about the same with the DDE card. If the appetizer comes back, I will sure start buying the DDP again!;)

Hey, Kimber - just noticed your location! We're in Mt. Pleasant. About the DDE - you have to have the AP for that, don't you?

DDE, now called Tables in Wonderland, is available only to annual passholders or Florida residents.
