 There are so many great ideas that I had to come up with more uses. This trip is DD's BD gift and MidNite did a wonderful design I used for a shirt to break the news to her. I also did a tie-dye Mickey that came out really well.
Nick and Julia's Mom did one for our resort, CBR, that I will also use for a shirt. There are so many others I want to use. I went to the local dollar store and bought DD and her best friend who is making her very first WDW trip a Light-weight laundry bag. I plan to put numerous designs on these as well as some of those little cloth carry bags you get at Hobby Lobby for them to use on the trip.
Does anyone know where I could find some small back-packs that could be decorated with an iron-on? Thanks

Opps, I'm sorry Julia and Nick's Mom. For some reason I keep turning your name aroun in my mind.

Could any one of you oh-so-amazing creative gurus help me brainstorm?

Our trip is a long ways off (May '06), but I'd love to come up with some shirt ideas anyway. :sunny:

It's our first family trip to WDW (first family vacation ever, actually - DH, myself and our 2 boys ) and it's in celebration of my graduation from college (nursing school). Any cute ideas? I don't have a creative bone in my body! :goodvibes

you should have at least one shirt for yourself that says something like: Can you imagine how many arms I have to give shots to to get this far?
DH's could say something like: and she didn't have to practice on me

I'm so glad Baloo made this a sticky...thank you! :flower:

This thread may go down in DIS history! :teeth:

I love all of these designs!

I'm interested in a couple of them for MNSSHP. How do we go about getting one of them to print on a transfer?

lucyanna girl ~ Where did you get the castle picture for your avatar? It looks like the one that's at the beginning of Disney movies. I am trying to find a nice big one to make a t-shirt design. :flower:

On the last one I blurred out the wedding date.. yeah, I am a bit paranoid! :rotfl: The Mickey and Minnie one is also borderless.

Print a Preview Always, always, always print a preview copy of your image before printing it on the (expensive) transfer paper. Do this to insure that colors print correctly, that your image doesn't fall into your printer's no-print zone along the margins, and to see what size your design will be (sometimes the on-screen view can be deceiving).

Flip Image Don't forget to flip or mirror your image. This is especially critical if you have text in your design. The text should be backwards on screen or on the print out. (Another good reason to print a preview copy first!) Some programs do this automatically.

Use the Right Side of the Paper Transfer paper has stripes on the non-printing side. Be sure to put the paper in your printer so that it prints on the clean white side.

White Does Not Print In designing your artwork remember that WHITE does not print. The fabric will show through any parts of the design that are white. For example, if you print a white ghost on plaid fabric — you'll get a plaid ghost! Plan your design accordingly. As with any desktop publishing project, consider the background color when selecting colors for your designs. [on some printers when you choose the t-shirt transfer - it will fill in the white parts]

Test on Scrap Fabric Test your design on “scratch fabric” before applying it to your final t-shirt or other fabric. Some types of fabric may require more ironing (heat) than others or may not show off your design as well as you expected.

Use Lots of Heat Use your iron's hottest setting but no steam. It takes a lot of heat to transfer the image evenly and completely to the fabric. Peel off the paper while it is still hot.

Use a Hard Surface The reason transfer instructions specify a hard surface (such as formica) is because it holds the heat. Ironing boards tend to disperse the heat and the transfer paper needs to be very hot to work properly.

Yay! We're a sticky! (Thank you!) I've never been a sticky before. I've been sticky before. Like that time my kids got into the honey jar. But that's probably irrelevant....
