YAY!

(did you all know that you can be stopped from posting a reply if the message is too short?!?!?!?)

;) I taught for 9 years - chorus/orchestra/AP Theory/asst. band (some combo of that each year). I became a SAHM 2.5 years ago, and there are times when I really miss the kids. I saw your post from before about how many recitals you had coming up... :faint: I don't miss the crazy Christmas schedule!!!! :goodvibes How are the recitals going?

I've been here, just lurking and trying to catch up. It is snowing so hard here today that they cancelled the afternoon pre-k but not school. They said the roads are too bad right now and maybe they will clear up by the time we go home at 3:30. Snow isn't stopping so I don't see how that will change things. I teach in Grafton and our school is on top of the bluffs overlooking the Illinois River. I either have to go up hills or down them to get home (45 minutes away on a good day). PD please!

I think I just got the last of the pictures (50 more) uploaded. There are several more in the first few days folders.

Your pictures are awesome!!! Thanks so much for sharing them! And the shirts look incredible! I've really enjoyed reading your trip reports - so glad you all had such a great time!!! :goodvibes

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Be very very careful. Those roads around Grafton can get mighty slick (as I am sure you know). It is snowing quite heavily here right now. I just looked out the window and the snow on top of my van has almost covered the luggage rack. I don't think they have cancelled our schools. Guess I should turn off TGM Radio and turn on the regular radio.

Oh well, DH is already watching DD6. The school called him at 7:45 (school hadn't even started yet) and said DD has thrown up on the bus and he had to come get her. He seemed surprised that you can't stay at school once you have thrown up (DUH!). She is fine now.

I usually make peanut butter balls too. I don't think I'll find time this year though. I have a recipe for microwave fudge that is excellent and I think I'll find time somewhere to make it. It takes about 10 minutes. :rotfl: :rotfl:
I managed to vacuum, do 3 loads of laundry and dye the shirts. Not a bad morning althought the kids are fighting non stop. Nobodies dead so all is well. Got to keep moving. I'll check in after work tonight. Don't talk too much so I don't have 10 pages to read when I get home (I know that I will).

Deb

Could you post your recipe for the fudge. My DH wants fudge and everytime I make it it turns out wrong. I have tried many different recipes so I am up to trying one more.

Believe it or not....I have never ridden the duck.....I have wanted to and we camp at Stone Mountain at least twice a year. I am assuming the 7 lanes of traffic on both sides may be 285/85 interchange. Can you imagine getting a flat tire on the ramp from 285 to 85. I didn't dare get out of the car.....I just sat there in rush hour traffic and a very nice police officer changed my tire for me and sent me on my way.

Lynn,,

because Steffy and I drove down to Atlanta to see two of my sisters that was the only reason I posted it because of the part about street names and the major highways, So many :earseek: Some of the stuff I should have taken out, because each place has their own special things that make it great. my sister has lived in Marietta Ga for more than 5 years, so when Steffy and I went for a visit, she took us in to Atlanta to see the Olympic Park, we drove up and back on one main road and we really did see the four sides of the CNN building :rotfl:
the imposing sight of the 7 lanes on each side of the one highway was unbelievable and I remember my sister telling us that a lot of street names started with Peach and the directions being north or south but you might really be traveling east or west

BUT, We are ready to take another road trip to meet fellow DISers Stephanie knows that I am not a morning person so I took the second four hours on the drive down and back :rotfl:

AND I would like to go to Stone Mountain again,,,wanna ride the Duck again

Rees is going down hill again. Thought he was better, but he just burst into tears and his temp is back up. Called school, and he and I will be home tomorrow. I'll take him to the Pediatrician in the am. Oh, well.

Yes, David-Logan was our guide. Davis adored him! And he and Brantley-Kate had fun laughing about the silent "hyphen" in their names. He was really, really good. The FMT was a blast.

my mom picked Julia up from school the other day so I missed this in her backpack until last night:

they made a book and colored the pages and told the teacher what they were drawing

there was a page that had two people - the page said

my mommy

mommy is pregnant :earseek:

OMG - do her teachers think I am pregnant now?!?!?!

I asked her why she said mommy was pregnant and she said "remember mommy before I was born you were pregnant with me? " So I guess she drew the picture as a past event but I am betting that is not what they think at school!!
Sounds like Julia wants Mommy to have another baby....

Elin - I see you went on a posting frenzy today. Kinda like me now.

OMG:earseek: I just noticed my ticker!!! Single digits!!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Sorry to hear it. Poor little guy!

Kate,

Maybe someone is trying to tellyou something! :)

Deb,

Hope your Dad feels better now that he is home.

Denise,

David-Logan is so well suited for his job. Even my oldest thought she would have to clean the park when he told her so.

Denise -- hope Rees feels better soon.
Deb -- hope your dad is better today.
Today is an "ice" day here. Most of the schools are closed, so it is kind of neat that we are all home today. I just wish we had a little of the snow you guys have been complaining about -- much more fun than ice.

I didn't think I would be able to get my shirts together in time for our trip next week. This is the busiest time of the year at work, plus I have to buy all the gifts my mom gives out, my own, plan birthday parties for both boys etc. I bought all my shirts month's ago, bought transfer paper when MAC bought, and then haven't had time to get anything else done. I am working from home today, but since hardly no one made it into the office, it's slow. I'm going to try to work on some shirts. I visited the "post your designs here" thread, but didn't find one of the things I am looking for. Both boys LOVE Stitch (Jake still talks about how Stitch crashed the van in DTD). Can anyone think of a design with Stitch with a Christmas theme? (I'm graphics illiterate.) I would be forever grateful!

Hi all! We got back on Sunday, but things are crazy to catch up. I am being reminded why I choose to work part of my other vacations this year...so much easier to catch up upon return. Seeing as how you all saw fit to post 200 pages since I left - oh wait, I'm sorry, 196 pages - it may take awhile to catch up. So, I'm just going to jump back in where we are.

Terra and I had a GREAT time!! The crowds over Thanksgiving weren't as bad as I was prepared for (either that of TGM was even better than I thought). From Monday on we rarely waited for anything. Terra LOVED the characters. I was plenty camera happy too as we ended up with over 1,100 pictures of our own plus 100+ from Photo Pass. We got to do nearly everything that we wanted to.

There was a partial triplet spotting as I saw 2 of the 3 and Dad at The Living Seas on Friday, but never saw Denise and the 3rd kiddo. The shirts looked great, though, and the kids seemed to be having a great time.

I've got trip reports on their way so I'll let you know when those are up. I'm also working on uploading the pictures, but that may take a little while. Until then, here are our Photo Pass pics: http://disneyphotopass.go.com/DPI/r.d?i=314818325
The older girl in the first half is my baby sister Rachel.

Hope that everyone is doing well and that we didn't miss anything too big. Other than Kate's imaginary pregnancy I guess. :)

Opps too many posts in a row..posting frenzy!!!

I haven't done much baking for the holidays since we will be at my MIL's for Christmas. BUT I did run around this morning for things for my 10 year old dd surprise birthday party. I can't believe she will be 10 next Thursday. I invited 10 of her friends for holiday crafts (I got foam ornaments they can decorate with glitter glue, door hangers, & gold & silver pipe cleaners they can put beads on to make star/snowflake ornaments) & cookie baking & decorating. My DH is going to bring her home from school & take her on some "errands" so all her friends will be here when she comes in. I hope no one spills the beans before then!

Help!

I am still looking for one last design! I had to change a t-shirt color and the graphic I had just won't work. :(

It's one of my shirts (of course). It will be navy blue. On one side, I had planned on having Sorcerer Mickey (the one with the gold border), but should I put on the other side???

Oh ... we will be in MGM on that day.

Any thoughts???????????????

BUCKEYES!!!

Amy -- the difference between your recipe and mine seems to be the addition of the cream cheese. I will have to try this the next time I make them!

Here's my Grandma's recipe:

1 stick butter
1/2 lb. crunchy peanut butter
1/2 lb. powdered sugar
3 oz. finely ground graham crackers (about 5-6)
1 tsp. vanilla
6 oz. chocolate (I use semi-sweet chips)
scant 1/8 cake paraffin (I don't use this--not even sure if you can find food grade paraffin anymore)

Cream together butter and peanut butter. Stir in sugar and vanilla. Work in graham crackers by hand. Roll into balls and chill. Dip chilled balls into melted chocolate (and paraffin) using a toothpick. Chill until chocolate is set. Smooth over hole left by toothpick.

Family Fun magazine (a Disney company :teeth: ) has a similar recipe in the December/January issue. I don't remember the differences at the moment.
