okay - DH has a business trip to DC in July - we used to live in DC and I have not been back in 9 years!!! :earseek: but it is my favorite city so he has been promising me a trip - I am not sure if we would bring the kids or not - part of me thinks it would be fun to go with just him - but he will be in conferences during the day and want to catch up with his buddies - all of my girlfriends have moved away so I would not really have anyone to catch up with

so I would be up for a DDA meet - there are so many great places in DC we could go!!

As long as it isn't the beginning of July - I can go - last year it was the end of July so I should have no trouble

I just found out today I am going to be an aunt again with an anticipated due date of July 1!!! it is my brother's first and there is no way I would leave town and miss it!!

for all those watching amazing race--who do you want to win next week? i cant stand the weavers! i love the Linz since the beginning!! im hoping for linz-bransen-weavers

I like the Branson's and Lintz's. The other 2 could both be eliminated as they are both irritating.

Kate - back to the DC conversation. When? Why? Where exactly? Oh, that would be so cool!!! Elin would be up for a meet too I'm sure!

My older 2 are 25 months apart. I never had any sibling rivalry between them and they are so close that you'd think they are twins. There is 5 years between the younger 2 and they aren't nearly as close. They don't have a lot in common with that age gap.

Deb

My sister and I are 6 years and 4 days apart - toooo far!!! :rolleyes1 However, DS is 2.5 now, and as busy as he keeps me (running non-stop), I couldn't imagine a baby at this point. You all are amazing!!! I don't know how you keep up with 2 (or more) little ones!

Wow - I put the kids in bed and watched Desperate Housewives (yes I am two days behind on my TIVO) and you all go on a posting frenzy!!!!

I love the birthday thread idea -

Jennifer - you can still have 20000 = who wanted the other one - your wish is granted too!!! :wizard:

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 2 are 4 1/2 years apart. I don't know if it is the age difference of the boy/girl thing, but they aren't very close. He is an 11 year old boy and she thinks she is an 11 year old boy.

Deb,

How is your dad doing? Did you get to talk to the Dr.?

The doctors finally read his xray and cleared his neck. Nothing broken. I can't believe that it took them 27 hours to clear his neck. The CT scan showed that the brain bleed has not gotten worse which is great news. He says that his neck already feels better just getting the brace off. They are giving him a medicine to help with the vertigo. Apparently that is an inner ear issue and has nothing to do with the brain injury. They are keeping him overnight tonight, but if nothing worsens I will bring him home in the morning. Between my Mom, Brother, SIL, DH and I we will be able to have someone with him as long as needed (until the vertigo passes). I thank you all for your prayers. He really is a lucky man to have tangled with a train and really had minimal injury. The worst part was not knowing. I have a photo that was on the front page of the local newspaper. I will post shortly. The caption said something about the driver walking away without injury. We read it this morning and said that someone should tell Dad and his doctors as we didn't know the extent of his injuries at the time. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Kate -- Keep us posted about the DC trip in July. I have a Yamaha International Concert in DC at Catholic University the end of July too, so I would be up there for that. We can certainly fill in for your "lost" girlfriends. Where did you all live? Actually in DC?

The snow photos are beautiful. I hope we have a white Christmas. I've never had one before. :cold:

Midnite unless you move somewhere else you are not likely to have a white Christmas. I have been in North Alabama my whole life and can count on my fingers the number of times we had white much less at X'mas time. :rotfl:

I AM SO JELIOUS of the snow pics. My kids would love to see that much snow.

I've never made candy; too afraid of the thermometer. If it's easy and doable in the microwave, I'd love the recipe! Thanks.

ETA: I found the recipe. I can't wait to try it. DSis is the queen of Peanut Brittle. She makes about 25 batches every Christmas. I would love to try this and see how it compares. Thanks.

No thermometer involved. This is the easiest candy I have ever tried to make. But then again I want try to make it if it is not easy. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have not tried it using peanuts but I would think it would come out the same.

I'm jealous, too!!!!!! What do think are the chances of a white Christmas in Central FL??? :rotfl:

I will share my Susan Lucci status with you two! :rotfl:

There is something to be said for "not" getting a milestone post, you know.
(Don't know what it is... but I am sure there is something that could be said....)
