That's really cool Marti. :goodvibes

My dad moved to Florida when I was nine, and I always spent the month of July with him, so we celebrated my half-birthday while I was there (July 24). Now that day is even more special, because it's the day Kevin and I got married!

Amy :)

AAAAwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww - we sure are a sentimental bunch tonight!!

I like the Branson's and Lintz's. The other 2 could both be eliminated as they are both irritating.

How's you Dad? Wait i should keep reading .....

We all know how lucky he is to be alive. He doesn't remember the accident at all and judging by the photo it is probably a good thing that he doesn't remember it. He remembers eating his lunch and the next thing he remembers is talking to people in the ambulance. He asked them what happened and they told him he had just been hit by a train, his reply "You're shi**ing me?" He really didn't know. One guy apparantly helped him climb up out of the passenger window. He stood there talking to 3 men and has no recollection of any of it. When I took the 2 little guys to see him this morning as soon as he saw us he started sobbing. His LNA thought that he was choking on something. I asked if he was in pain to which he shook his head no, I asked if he'd just received bad news again no and finally he caught his breath and said "I'm just so happy to see you". He truly realizes how lucky he is. By the way my ds8 sang the song to him and he was tearing up with laughter. He gave a copy to his boss, all the nurses took a copy and he had my Mom read it to him later so he could really hear it.
What a roller coaster day.

::yes:: You have to admit, though, snow (not just soap bubbles) at WDW would be pretty awesome!!! :teeth: What park will you be at for Christmas Day? We'll be at MGM - lunch at 50's Prime Time. Will we see you around?

Probably won't go into the parks on Christmas Day. IF we do it would be AK. We will be there a long time this trip though... maybe we will run into one another another day??

The doctors finally read his xray and cleared his neck. Nothing broken. I can't believe that it took them 27 hours to clear his neck.

Thats CRAZY!

The CT scan showed that the brain bleed has not gotten worse which is great news. He says that his neck already feels better just getting the brace off. They are giving him a medicine to help with the vertigo. Apparently that is an inner ear issue and has nothing to do with the brain injury. They are keeping him overnight tonight, but if nothing worsens I will bring him home in the morning.
Thank goodness! It could have been SO much worse!

I have a photo that was on the front page of the local newspaper. I will post shortly. The caption said something about the driver walking away without injury. We read it this morning and said that someone should tell Dad and his doctors as we didn't know the extent of his injuries at the time. :rotfl: :rotfl:

We JUST had a train / car accident HERE today! The DownEaster!

Just so you all know - my trip to DC might be in lieu of my trip to Atlanta - then again maybe not - I get bored in the summer!!

Also - Amy is mad at me for planning a meet right around her due date - sooooo - I told her I would invite you all for labor day (the real one - not hers!!) for a meet in Cincinnati - we have fireworks here in Cincinnati that are amazing!!!

I have a second birthday on February 21st. We refer to it as my "special birthday". You see I was adopted and February 21st is the day I was born into my family... so in our family, my special birthday is more important than the day I turn a year older!!!

Don't they call that their "Gotcha Day" now? Or am I WAY off???

That's what they are calling it. I HATE IT!! I'd rather have fingernails down a chalk board. It makes me think somebody is playing a joke... in our family, everytime a joke was played, somebody would say "gotcha!" I have hated it relating to adoption ever since. It just doesn't sound right to me.

My DH was in a big accident when he was in Iraq .... he didn't remember the entire day of the accident. Since then, he has remembered up til 10 minutes before the accident butnothing until after the point when he woke up in Germany.
