Steffy

This sounds like a great ideal. A trip to Disney will always make you feel better. LOL
Okay EXPLAIN you talk about tinker1bell and tinker1bell's sister. You mention these two in your post often - or are they the same person. I am confused.

This is Tinker1bell,,,,,,me Terry Steffy's friend for about 15 years now and tinker1bell's sister is actually my sister, and She just didnt know what name to use when she joined the DIS :rotfl:

I have spent the evening trying to get my house cleaned so I can finish shirts and pack this weekend. What a day for us! A whole board, 1,000 pages and 15,000 posts!!!

Welcome back Baloo, you were really missed. It's so wonderful how we all feel like friends (or even family) even though most of us have never met. I have posted on cruise boards and "met" some people, but the sniping and snobbery that goes on on some of those threads is beyond belief. This thread is phenomenal, and the disboard in general is great (some sniping, but nothing like on other boards I've read). I hope "our" thread goes on to at least15,000 pages - not posts.

Thanks for clearing that up. I have wondered about this for awhile now so thought I better just ask.

Caught up! Only three pages last night - but how exciting to have a special board!

Tidying the house today ready for the decorating tomorrow

There is a ton of good stuff to do in STL. We love Ted Drewes :earboy2: , one of the shops is open year round. Did you find it Thursday? There are a ton of great restaurants up on the hill also.

Next time you swing around this way, let me know. Is DH looking for a hospital or program? Our med school around here is awesome and we have lots of doctors in training that are brought to our club when they are being wined and dined by Dr. members.

I did find it.... that and the donut drive-in! :goodvibes
I had a marshmallow concrete..... AMAZING!!!!!! That and my glaze donut made for the tastiest (yet absolute WORST WORST WORST nutritional value) lunch I can remmeber! :rotfl:

Kyle interviewed at SLU for the Medicine-Pediatrics Combined Program. We ate at Vito's (near the university) with the current residents.... it was ok, but I have heard the Hill has better Italian. I wish we'd have gone there :)

If we match in STL, I'll definitely look you up.... we'll be there a lot starting in March if that's the case!! I love it... we have family there, so this wasn't my first time in town. I did do a lot less touristy things though, and more shopping centers, checking out suburbs, etc. DH tends to like KC better because of the "small town feel". That same "Small town feel" drove me INSANE!!!! :earseek: STL is a lot like Cincy.... I could live there :teeth:

WOW - I can't believe I got up today and there were only 2 new pages. More like 1 and a half.

We spent the evening last night decorating the house. I did some inside and DH put the wreaths on and candles in the windows, lights outside. The tree will probably go up tonight and maybe get decorated...or that might have to wait a day or two. I will post pics when everything is done.

Jen - welcome back! Can't wait to hear and see about your trip.

Baloo - I am so glad that you are back with us. Patience and perserverance pays off! You've done a wonderful thing for all of us.

Deb - Hope your craft fair goes well and you sell a good bit of stuff. I know you put alot of work into it.

I showed Nicholas all of your birthday wishes. He was quite excited. He said "boy, I got a lot of email from everyone." He also thinks BK and Julia are quite cute. Let me say that he is quite the ladies man. He has so many little girl friends but tends to not play with the boys so much. And the girls tend to just flock to him. He is going to be trouble in about 8 yrs.....

Ok, I need to start getting ready and everything set up for his party today. My house will be taken over by 12 Power Rangers in 4 hrs. I hope I survive!

oh how cool.

It was quiet last night and again this morning on the board. Just thought I would check-in and say HI  to everyone.

I am getting ready to have about 22 DAWG fans over to the house for the BIG GAME. Actually 2 of them are AUBURN fans but the have promised to pull for GA or they are not allowed in the front door!!!! :cheer2: GO DAWGS!!

I think everyone is getting there houses ready w/ decorations. I am going to start working on my manger scences and have them up before 5pm. I think I have about 12-14 of them so I better get started. I enjoy collecting manger scenes and nutcrackers.

Everyone have a good day and I will check in with ya'll later.

Excellent! I love doing it with my son too -- ever since he could. :)

We do something a little different --- we don't always use sprinkles etc. We make an gg yolk paint. The first time, I just bought new cheap brushes and we went to town. We often combine the painting with the sprinkles. IMO, it's less messy than the sprinkles are with little ones -- and they LOVE painting!

Anyone else not getting notices of new replies since we moved?

I just unsubscribed from the thread and then re-subscribed and I started getting notices again.

Just thought I would comment -- in case others are having the same problem. :)

I will pull for the HORNS if you pull for the DAWGS. My 11yr old DS is already talking about going college in TX so he can be a Longhorn. I think he wears his HORN hat more than he does his DAWG hat.

What do you mix the egg yolks with?? Do you paint them after they are done?? Can you give me more details....please?? I am doing cookies with the kids next Friday.

Ya know .. I COULD wait until someone asks if they want to know how I do it ... but then I'll probably be away from the PC for the afternoon. So, I'm posting it now .... (ETA: Yeah - someone is interested! LOL)

Egg Yolk Tempra

INGREDIENTS:
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon water
5 drops food coloring

DIRECTIONS:
Mix egg yolk and water.
Divide into dishes for as many colors as you want to make.
Add food coloring to get shade desired (e.g., 2 Red plus 2 Yellow for Orange; 3 Blue for Blue).
Paint on unbaked cookies and bake as you normally would.
Cookies will come out with shiny color finish.

*This makes a shiny gloss finish on most any cookie. Works best on light color cookies, like sugar cookie cutouts. Depending on the color you are going for, you will probably need between 2 and 8 drops of food coloring." Original recipe yield: 1 quarter cup.

Lisa's notes:
Most often, I use small pyrex custard dishes for this project. I have also used kitchen dixie cups in the past. Oh, and make the colors a bit darker than you want --- they are lghter n the cookie.

If you try it out, let me know. I'd love to hear how it worked for you.

I just had a brilliant idea! I'm going to go raid my kid's closets and get out all of their short sleeve plain t-shirts and use those to make the DDA shirts. By next summer, those will all be too small anyway, and I'd have to buy new ones! That'll at least cut down on buying shirts. And I think I have some old plain shirts that I may be able to use for me. Good excuse to buy new clothes next Spring! :rotfl:

I know this is a v old post but I've had to go back to the 1 November so forgive me...

I just wanted to say that this is what I did for DH - I used old shirts to put the designs on as I know he won't wear them in "real life"! Then I can buy him some new ones for Christmas :goodvibes

HELLO NEWLYWED

We have missed you!! I enjoyed all your wedding pictures. Like I said before the Carousel Kiss is my favorite. What part of England are you from?? My sister-in-law is from England.
