Pizza Bread. I fell in love with this when I was a cheerleader in high school. Our coach used to make it for our Pep Rally/Parties (awe the good old days). Anyway.
Ingredients:
5 loaves frozen bread dough
1 lb thin sliced sandwich pepperoni
1 lb thin sliced provolone cheese
1 lb shredded cheese (mozzerella or your favorite mixed cheese)

Roll out on loaf of bread dough as thin as you can get it about 12 inches wide. Once rolled out put a layer of Pepperoni, provolone and shredded cheese. Leave 2 inches without the toppings in order to close it up. Roll it up and seal ends well. Repeat for other 4 loaves. Bake as directed on the bread dough. I do not let it rise before baking as the ingredients shouldn't sit. I baked mine tonight on 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Serve with hot pizza sauce for dipping. My kids eat it without the sauce. It is pretty much a calzone (those hadn't been invented when I started making this). I usually either warm the bread in the oven or if in a hurry slice it into 1/2 slices and pop in the microwave. Hope this makes sense as I should be in bed.

Deb
Sounds yummy. And easy. I may have to add this to my upcoming birthday party menu.

I had all my shopping done for the kids by June... :cool1:

I think that the grandparents are all getting shirts or tote bags! (gee, I wonder where I got that idea????). DH still need to get a small something (not doing much as we're blowing it all on Disney!). 2 brothers and SIL will get gift certificates, so easy.

Seriously - how did you know what they wanted in June? You go on the goody two shoes list with Amy now!!!

I will be lucky if Julia doesn't change her mind by Friday at this point and I am sure I will have to return and buy something different - but I am a shopaholic - so that doesn't bother me - I buy and if I see it cheaper in an ad - I rebuy!! It is all about the challenge for me

This is totally OT, but I really need the help of our creative DDA's.

I need ideas for DS's birthday party. All of you Northerners please don't laugh at me :) .

Anyway, his birthday is in February (he'll be 5) and we're having a snow party. A company brings a machine and blows snow on the ground. This is more than I would normally spend on a party so I need cheap ideas for favors, decorations, etc (especially favors).

This is what I have so far:

I'm making a snowman cake and we'll have cake and hot chocolate. I'm putting out marshmallows, crushed peppermints and whipped cream in the can for the hot chocolate.

I'm thinking about putting a white tablecloth on the cake table and then using snowmen and fake snow to go down the middle. I'm hoping to find snowman plates, napkins, etc. (that don't have anything Christmas on them) on clearance after Christmas. I'll also get blue, white and maybe silver balloons. I can also decorate with snowflakes cut out of paper.

We'll make snow angels, have snowball fights, and maybe a few other games.

For favors the ideas I've had or have been suggested to me are:

chapstick (cool, flavored)
slipper socks
snowmen cups with straws
cutting scarves out of fleece
stickers/pencils with snowmen

What do ya'll think of this and do you have anything you would change or add? I really need cute, cheap ideas for favors. We rarely get snow, so I'm really excited about the party. DS can't stop talking about it and it's still 3 months away!

We're inviting girls and boys, ranging mainly from 4-6 years old. I'd really like to give the same favors to girls and boys, so I'm hoping for ideas that are gender neutral.

I know everyone is busy and getting ready for Thanksgiving, but I'd appreciate any ideas or suggestions ya'll could give!!!

This sounds like a great idea.
Has DS ever been in snow?
4-6 year olds love bubbles.
I think a pail & shovel would also be nice.
To dig in the snow with.
Will the kids be able to eat the snow?
You know they will. :crazy2:
I would love to play in the snow in 70 degree weather.
By the way I grew up In Illinois.
I'm not laughing @ you.
I think this would be great for a bunch of kids who haven't experienced snow.

if I had already finished Julia's shopping - I would have been awfully sad when she started squealing in the car today -

Mommy - they have a doll that looks like me now!!! American Girl just released a curly haired doll - Julia is always asking for one that has curly hair like her!!! We are so excited!!! The skin is a little dark but close enough!!!

I've told her repeatedly she has GOT to kill the music ... maybe it's just me ...
www.campnh.com

Some of the music reminded me of Fort Wilderness as did the Outside Movie Theater. It looks like an awesome campground. The pool looks very nice and I saw a Halloween Themed weekend. My two older boys would love the Yu-Gi- Oh card trading. We may actually have to try that campground out. It would be nice to go on a weekend that you will be there, but it is a definate on my to try list.

Thanks for the tip

OK ... bear with me ..... I have a moral dilemma .......

OK .. so I won the trip, right?

there are 3 of us .. so I had an extra ticket. It ended up that I invited my neighbor and her 2 kids to join us. This was back in APRIL.

We were going to help pay for some of the extra expenses. We had decided to give them our "free" room at the Poly and we would stay at Shades of Green. she was going to pay for the SoG room ... but she can't stay there because she isn't military.

I chose the Poly - cause it was right next to SoG. Otherwise, cost-wise, she would have had to stay at the All-Stars ... and I would have felt guilty.

OK ... so she asks me to wait to tell them kids.

I decided I wanted to tell them by getting gold Mouse ears - she thought it was a great idea. We were going to tel them when school let out.

But then she stalled ... and stalled .. .and stalled!!!

Well ... I new I had 30 days to cancel SoG ... so I told her .. .with time to spare that there was a 45 day window to cancel SoG. (she is NOT good with time commitment!)

On countdown day 46 ... she tells me she can't go ... can't afford it.

Now ... I have been waiting to tell my own son .. since APRIL. It has been killing me!!!!

So ... I have a bad day ... got upset .. and then decided "oh well - get OVER it!"

So I did.

I cancelled the extra room at SoG. I told my son all about the trip and told him we're staying at the Poly! Hooray!

Fast forward to today.

I mention her Mom's company is taking over sponsorship of Spaceship Earth ... which turns into ... "you won't believe it but 7 days after I had to cancel ... I got a big check!"

So ... you guessed it ... can I go! UGH She still has a shoestring budget to go.

Now ,,, the money we were going to use to help her has been earmarked for meals. I made ressies for us for meals that we had not planned on doing.

I mentioned I already told my son about the Poly ... and she says .... "well he could sleep over and you and DH could have a night together." Nice -- but we're not clubbing, DTD type of folk. I put DS to bed ... and I crash shortly after! (at WDW at least!)

So ... now ... she asked me to check if there is space at SoG.

There is a HUGE part of me that just wants to tell her -- sorry, they're full. She doesn't GET how much planning I did ... they had to undo .. to re-plan for only 3 of us!!!

I just don't know what to do ... mostly cause I feel GUILTY about not wanting her and the kids now!!!!

How's this??? Thanks to the quick thinking of triplefigs!! It took forever to upload to the photobucket account.
Yes.....I will be glad to share or personalize....nothing spectacular as you guys usually see. I will probably work a little more on it and try to take off the DWW. Arrrr....I thought I had the letters orange. Back to Print Shop. If I delete the rejects from my photobucket...I assume you guys will not be able to see them anymore????

Well, the cab to the commuter rail to the subway to the shuttle bus to the airport will pick us up in 12 hours!!! We're almost there!! I know that there is no use asking you to keep the posting to a minimum so that I can catch up when we return 12/4 so I'll just hope that Denise's absense will help slow things down a little. :)

I'll be keeping an eye out for DDA designs and will be sure to say hi if I see you.

This sounds like a t-shirt design.
DENISE :wizard:

I must be the odd DDAer out here because I haven't, nor do I have any desire to, shop on BF. I would not be able to handle the stress :headache:, the pushing, :crowded: the shoving, the traffic :moped:, the waiting in line :bored:. I think I would end up going postal.:earseek: :scared1:(Can I say that here?) More power to you, you shopaholics.

On BF my hometown has their Christmas parade up Main Street, so we try to go to that. Then on Saturday is Pittsburgh's big "Celebrate the Season" Christmas parade. I was hoping to make it to that this year, but with the temps taking a dip and hovering around 30 that day:cold:, I don't know if my 3 yr would tolerate it.

Just save them under the same name, delete the old from Photobucket, then upload the new one (with the same name). You have to hit refresh to see the new one, but it keeps the images here.

BTW, very cute!

I think I'd say they were full too. I'd be afraid that she would opt out at the last minute anyway. If she really wants to go and has the $$ she could always get a room off site and still do some activities with you. Quite the dilemma for sure.

Triplefigs. I have done the early shopping before, but they always come up with a list of I absolutely have to have items about this time of year so I end up buying them much more that I had intended. This year I only picked up a few summer items for next year and now they are working on their lists. I told them I absolutely have to have the list by Friday.

My son LOVES the pool. To be honest ... it looks much bigger in the pics .. but we've nver been on a holiday weekend .. and haven't had a crowding problem.

Both me and DH have been down the slides! And *I* am not a small person! LOL They have tent and RV sites. We usually get an low amp RV site .. cause I like to be on the edge of their filed .. so ben has a place to RUN in sight.

Oh .. and stay away from Blugrass festival! That place gets PACKED!!!!!! They have to close the pool during it -- or it's a safety issue.

My son love the wagon rides ... and flashlight candy hunt!

Lisa,

You were generous and offerred, she said she couldn't go (late I might add), and you cancelled. I would not feel guilty. I wouldn't want to change again either. Say it's full or you just can't do it. Go have fun and quit worrying about it. She's the one that pulled the plug, not you. What's to say she wouldn't cancel again in 2 weeks?

Deb

Okay sorry aobut thinking we were close to 1,000 I think Kate said something about 15 peolpe posting and hitting 1,000 confused me?
We dont camp. but we also live in texas so could not make the camping event up north.
I love the snow party idea. all the favor ideas sound cute and pretty inexpensive.
we will go to my parents house for thanksgiving, I will be scouring the BF ads and planing my shopping strategy I look forward to this day every year. I also shop a lot and if i find something cheaper i buy it and return the first one for the price differece.

See, Santa doesn't take requests in our house. He's all surprises! the grandparents get the LISTS. I am not shopping on BF. Not my style.
