My3princes,
Can I come to the Birthday party? You are making me really, really hungry. That sounds to me like enough food for 50 - 60 people. If you are anything like me or my Mom when we plan a party or event there are always tons of leftovers.

Becky

Ya know something Deb - I was thinking the same thing.... can I come toooooooo

Tia,

Before I met Steamboat Marti, I used to live in Danvers, MA. I was the Asst GM of the the Chi-Chi's on Rte 114. Used to live in the apt's behind Sylvan Street Grille. Loved going to The House of Seven Gables.

I've been busy today. Not getting ready for Thanksgiving, but for the birthday party for my boys tommorrow night. We are having hamburgers and hot dogs with lots of casseroles and side dishes. I think we may be bbqing in a snowstorm though. :cold: I got my bundt cake made and the skim coat of frosting on. It is chilling before the final icing. The brownie layer, first ice cream layer and first layer of hot fudge is on the hot fudge sundae cake. I'll add the rasberry pie filling before bed as the other layers needed to set up first. I made 5 loaves of pizza bread and a pan of cinnamon buns. Tomorrow I'll make the taco salad, tossed salad and mozzerella sticks. My mom is making baked beans, deviled eggs, cabbage salad, fried rice, lasagna and a blueberry dessert. I also have mac & cheese, fruit salad, brocolli cassarole and chili coming. Do you think that will be enough to feed 50 - 60 people? After that I can worry about Thanksgiving. It isn't at our house so I'm actually only bringing a hot fudge sundae cake which I am making at the same time as the one for the birthday party. Thanksgiving will be dedicated to making lists for BF :cheer2:
My house is 80% cleaned although the kids don't have school tomorrow so I'll probably have to start over anyway.

Deb
I don't know how you do it. Cooking, baking, party planning, costume designing, tyedying, tshirtmaking, etc etc. Do you ever slow down??? Send me some of your energy please.:goodvibes

PNO4TE - final question!! (I think)

Olive oil, or something different?

Sorry sorry

Don't apologize! I am impressed that you didn't ask me to give you metric measurements for the ingredients! :teeth:

I use canola oil, but definitely NOT olive oil. Any generic vegetable oil would work. Do you have that on your side of the pond??

I'm sure Elin will answer, too, but I would use an oil with a little lighter taste (and a bit less expensive) than olive oil. I don't know what your choices are in the UK, but I always use canola oil for this type of recipe. We also have "vegetable oil" which is a mix of oils and is also called salad oil, and I think you can still buy corn oil. I must admit, I don't even look at the oils much. I know that I always get canola for cooking.

Hope this was a somewhat helpful answer.

Beth

That's what I said too!... Thanks, Beth!

We love to camp during the summer and are always looking for new campgrounds to try out. As we are thinking about where to camp this summer I was wondering if any other New Englanders like to camp and if maybe we could do a little DDA meet somewhere. So any campers out there?

That depends on where you are in Vermont. We have family in Dorset.. they used to own a store in Manchester. The rest of the cousins are in Burlington. Haven't been that way in a while!

Me too!! We are heavily planned (thanks TGM) for the holiday weekend so that DSis can get to do as much as possible. After that, Terra and I will just be hanging out and enjoying the holiday season.

Have an awesome vacation and don't you just love TGM? I even thanked him in my picture of DS riding Goofy's Barnstormer with Goofy himself.

I know where you lived! The bus takes us right by Sylvan Street Grille everytime we go to Liberty Tree.

Yes, I do!!! I was able to give 3 newbies and my impatient DDad (plus patient DSis and DMom) a great time with some pretty good park coverage in just 4 days in August despite 100+ temps. I am really looking forward to putting his advice to good use over the holiday weekend. I would have skipped the holiday altogether, but it was the only way DSis could come at all.

We tent camp -- no RV here. Our friends call our tent "Hotel Titus"! My DH was adamant he wanted to be able to STAND UP in it!!!!

You guys were super chatty today already! I feel horrible, so I'm turning in early today.

I only skimmed through the pages (sorry!) so this won't be much of a response, but here goes :)

We camp. We even "tent" :).

If anyone is in Cincinnati, you can come see me, too... even though Kate forgot about me

Tia, have a great trip!

Sorry for those things I forgot.... :guilty:

'Night all!

Right now .. we most often go to a place in Campton NH ... because my friend owns it. :) We never get to see each other ... so this is our chance to. Unfortunately .. since it's summer she's always busy runing the camp. :(

I'm whipped - I was a volunteer at Matt's field trip to an inner city school today... can't keep my eyes open! See ya tomorrow
