Right now .. we most often go to a place in Campton NH ... because my friend owns it. :) We never get to see each other ... so this is our chance to. Unfortunately .. since it's summer she's always busy runing the camp. :(

What's the name of the campground. For some reason Campton, NH sounds familiar.

You guys were super chatty today already! I feel horrible, so I'm turning in early today.

I only skimmed through the pages (sorry!) so this won't be much of a response, but here goes :)

We camp. We even "tent" :).

If anyone is in Cincinnati, you can come see me, too... even though Kate forgot about me

Tia, have a great trip!

Sorry for those things I forgot.... :guilty:

'Night all!

Jennifer - sorry you aren't feeling well. I am sure all of the moving and studying and testing has taken it out of you. Get a good night's sleep and you will feel better. I went to bed at 8:30 on Sunday night and slept for 12 hours. I was exhausted from our commando trip. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten you, and if I ever get to Cincinnati, I'll make sure you come to the party too!

Marti - goodnight to you too.

Paul - you sound like my kind of guy when it comes to camping. DH and DS camp for BSA, but DH has told everyone that I consider any hotel without room service "roughing it." We did rent a 35' motor home a couple of years ago for our summer vacation to the Wisconsin Dells and I really enjoyed it, but DH said no more.

Happy Thanksgiving and stay safe to all those who are travelling. We are leaving tomorrow morning for Pittsburgh, to my folks house. This will be the first major holiday since my grandma has passed away (July). She was 90 and the Matriarch of our family. My aunt and uncle won't be there either as he is suffering from cancer and not doing well. So it will only be my parents and us. I'm sure it will be hard for my mother. We aren't even having a whole turkey....just a turkey breast. I told my mom to do whatever was easiest for her. Anyway, just wanted to pass on good thoughts to all of you dear friends for a healthy and happy holiday. Also, happy shopping to those of you brave enough to fight the crowds.

Travel safely, Tammi. And to all the other DDAs who are on the roads over the next week or so, be careful and come back and post pictures of your holiday celebrations.

We are staying home and both DDs will be here for dinner on Thursday. Actually, DH is headed to Richmond in the a.m. to bring younger DD home for the long weekend.

I had all my shopping done for the kids by June... :cool1:

I think that the grandparents are all getting shirts or tote bags! (gee, I wonder where I got that idea????). DH still need to get a small something (not doing much as we're blowing it all on Disney!). 2 brothers and SIL will get gift certificates, so easy.

I've been busy today. Not getting ready for Thanksgiving, but for the birthday party for my boys tommorrow night. We are having hamburgers and hot dogs with lots of casseroles and side dishes. I think we may be bbqing in a snowstorm though. :cold: I got my bundt cake made and the skim coat of frosting on. It is chilling before the final icing. The brownie layer, first ice cream layer and first layer of hot fudge is on the hot fudge sundae cake. I'll add the rasberry pie filling before bed as the other layers needed to set up first. I made 5 loaves of pizza bread and a pan of cinnamon buns. Tomorrow I'll make the taco salad, tossed salad and mozzerella sticks. My mom is making baked beans, deviled eggs, cabbage salad, fried rice, lasagna and a blueberry dessert. I also have mac & cheese, fruit salad, brocolli cassarole and chili coming. Do you think that will be enough to feed 50 - 60 people? After that I can worry about Thanksgiving. It isn't at our house so I'm actually only bringing a hot fudge sundae cake which I am making at the same time as the one for the birthday party. Thanksgiving will be dedicated to making lists for BF :cheer2:
My house is 80% cleaned although the kids don't have school tomorrow so I'll probably have to start over anyway.

I'd like to hear more about the pizza bread.

We give the grandparents the photo calendars (with pics of the kids) with important family dates already filled in. I usually do it at Kinkos, but this year I'm doing it online at Walmart. You can get a 12 or 18 month calendar. The grandparents love it!

'Night all!

I am so sorry - I didn't really forget about you - I just know it would be easy for me to harass Amy than you -

Jennifer will be joining us if any one comes through Cincy!!!!!!

Oh yeah - I forgot about the zoo - Julia is going with my parents next Thursday to Festival of Lights - so I don't want to take her and steal their thunder - and then I think taking her again 2 nights later would be a bad idea - but I REALLY want to meet you - let's definately try to plan something soon!!!!!

I'd like to hear more about the pizza bread.

Pizza Bread. I fell in love with this when I was a cheerleader in high school. Our coach used to make it for our Pep Rally/Parties (awe the good old days). Anyway.
Ingredients:
5 loaves frozen bread dough
1 lb thin sliced sandwich pepperoni
1 lb thin sliced provolone cheese
1 lb shredded cheese (mozzerella or your favorite mixed cheese)

Roll out on loaf of bread dough as thin as you can get it about 12 inches wide. Once rolled out put a layer of Pepperoni, provolone and shredded cheese. Leave 2 inches without the toppings in order to close it up. Roll it up and seal ends well. Repeat for other 4 loaves. Bake as directed on the bread dough. I do not let it rise before baking as the ingredients shouldn't sit. I baked mine tonight on 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. Serve with hot pizza sauce for dipping. My kids eat it without the sauce. It is pretty much a calzone (those hadn't been invented when I started making this). I usually either warm the bread in the oven or if in a hurry slice it into 1/2 slices and pop in the microwave. Hope this makes sense as I should be in bed.

We don't have a computer handy, but the whole family makes lists and sorts who is going where. We usually pick up things for our older relatives cause they won't get out too early. I think it is a lot of fun. Usually we are in line around 4 am. Get everything we want locally by 9 or 10 then head to a big Mall area for more shopping. I usually get a few malls in along with a couple 100 miles of driving and return home between midnight and 1 AM the next day. Can you say diehard shopper. My dh takes the day off and keeps the kids so I can have my shopping day.
