We give the grandparents the photo calendars (with pics of the kids) with important family dates already filled in. I usually do it at Kinkos, but this year I'm doing it online at Walmart. You can get a 12 or 18 month calendar. The grandparents love it!

OK ... bear with me ..... I have a moral dilemma .......

OK .. so I won the trip, right?

there are 3 of us .. so I had an extra ticket. It ended up that I invited my neighbor and her 2 kids to join us. This was back in APRIL.

We were going to help pay for some of the extra expenses. We had decided to give them our "free" room at the Poly and we would stay at Shades of Green. she was going to pay for the SoG room ... but she can't stay there because she isn't military.

I chose the Poly - cause it was right next to SoG. Otherwise, cost-wise, she would have had to stay at the All-Stars ... and I would have felt guilty.

OK ... so she asks me to wait to tell them kids.

I decided I wanted to tell them by getting gold Mouse ears - she thought it was a great idea. We were going to tel them when school let out.

But then she stalled ... and stalled .. .and stalled!!!

Well ... I new I had 30 days to cancel SoG ... so I told her .. .with time to spare that there was a 45 day window to cancel SoG. (she is NOT good with time commitment!)

On countdown day 46 ... she tells me she can't go ... can't afford it.

Now ... I have been waiting to tell my own son .. since APRIL. It has been killing me!!!!

So ... I have a bad day ... got upset .. and then decided "oh well - get OVER it!"

So I did.

I cancelled the extra room at SoG. I told my son all about the trip and told him we're staying at the Poly! Hooray!


Fast forward to today.


I mention her Mom's company is taking over sponsorship of Spaceship Earth ... which turns into ... "you won't believe it but 7 days after I had to cancel ... I got a big check!"

So ... you guessed it ... can I go! UGH She still has a shoestring budget to go.


Now ,,, the money we were going to use to help her has been earmarked for meals. I made ressies for us for meals that we had not planned on doing.

I mentioned I already told my son about the Poly ... and she says .... "well he could sleep over and you and DH could have a night together." Nice -- but we're not clubbing, DTD type of folk. I put DS to bed ... and I crash shortly after! (at WDW at least!)

So ... now ... she asked me to check if there is space at SoG.

There is a HUGE part of me that just wants to tell her -- sorry, they're full. She doesn't GET how much planning I did ... they had to undo .. to re-plan for only 3 of us!!!

I just don't know what to do ... mostly cause I feel GUILTY about not wanting her and the kids now!!!!

I would tell her - after she told you she couldn't go - you made the decision to use the money to splurge on some extra things for the trip and can't undo that now - I also would say that you had initially decided to stay at SOG but now that you have told your son you are staying at the Poly - you don't want to disappoint him and you want to spend your vacation with him - you would still love for them to come but they will have to make their own arrangements

if you feel this would really upset her then I would tell her SOG is full - at this point she is too unreliable and since you are a Disney planner - this will drive you up a wall the whole time1!!

if I had already finished Julia's shopping - I would have been awfully sad when she started squealing in the car today -

Mommy - they have a doll that looks like me now!!! American Girl just released a curly haired doll - Julia is always asking for one that has curly hair like her!!! We are so excited!!! The skin is a little dark but close enough!!!

Kate all this doll needs is a Belle dress.

Just save them under the same name, delete the old from Photobucket, then upload the new one (with the same name). You have to hit refresh to see the new one, but it keeps the images here.

BTW, very cute!

FYI You DDA's have got me hooked. For the past 3 nights I have been up till midnight working on designs or printing or anything else I am trying to get done before the last minute. Looks like the ironing will happen tomorrow. I will post once they are finished. I am so excited.

Good idea!

I do this too. I get my calendar from snapshotsintime.com. They have really nice borders that I like that correspond to the month. Then I pick a photo that relates to that month as well. For instance, Jan. - sledding, July - 4th celebration, Aug - beach, etc. etc. I upload from my pc to their website. I ordered last Fri and the calendar is already in the mail to me. They also put in and special dates that you want noted, like bdays, anniversarys, etc. I've been very pleased with them.

I saw today that snapfish has photo trivets and trinket boxes -I am thinking about getting these for the older set


I have always made calenders for them (myself) and I just don't have the energy to do it anymore!!

Talk about hooked. It's after midnight now, I'm still up on the boards and I don't even have a trip planned I should turn in now as I still have plenty to do before the party tomorrow. It was nice chatting with all of you this evening.

I would say just take your family & go.
What are you going to do if she backs out @ the last minute again.
So what if you don't use 1 ticket.
I think you would have a much better time no worrying about them.
Sorry if I sound harsh.
I have planned vacations with people who have canceled @ the last minute.

If SoG is full and I can get an overflow rate at another hotel ... I will offer that option to her. BUT .... I am not changing the rest of my plans!

ETA:
Oh .. and if it happens ..... the hotel etc will be reserved under HER credit card this time!!!!

We'll still see ... I'm terrible with guilt! That's what happens with an ItalianJewish mother! Double whammy!!!

I saw that on the news tonight. Is that just for adds that list specific items or will they match % off adds and BOGO adds. I want Geotrax sets and they are 50% off at Kohls and KB is having all Fisher Price toys BOGO. It would save me time if they would Match those adds, but I doubt it. Actually Kohls is having all toy 50% as an Early Bird special.

I doubt it --- Wal-Mart is most likely sticking to their regualr PM policy ... which would be no BOGO's ... or % off .. unless the reg price is marked.

I must be the odd DDAer out here because I haven't, nor do I have any desire to, shop on BF. I would not be able to handle the stress , the pushing, the shoving, the traffic , the waiting in line . I think I would end up going postal. (Can I say that here?) More power to you, you shopaholics.

On BF my hometown has their Christmas parade up Main Street, so we try to go to that. Then on Saturday is Pittsburgh's big "Celebrate the Season" Christmas parade. I was hoping to make it to that this year, but with the temps taking a dip and hovering around 30 that day, I don't know if my 3 yr would tolerate it.

My collection is over 400 movies.
I get the day off with pay.
So I like to just veg.
