Triplefigs. This is probably redundant, but remove the backing from the dark transfers place them on the shirt the way that you want them to look then place the parchment on and iron. For the light transfers do not remove the backing, place the design ink side down and iron on the backside. After it cools you remove the backing. So in essense the backing is the parchment.

Deb

Thanks!

Ok, here are the transfers with the shirts they'll go on. I'll iron later. Any suggestions for trimming around the designs?

Ok, I'm pretty excited. I think they look awesome. :cool1:

Now, for ironing tips. Please share. I know to iron my shirts, use a lint brush first, press firmly. Anything else weird to know?

Here is blanket #1. Only 8 or 9 more to go.
There is a photo of the front which is Disney Print, The back, and a close up of the stars that are embroidered to hold the sides together

Denise those look great. The ironing is really the easiest part. I don't go to WDW until February but have already started making my shirts. I thought if I do a few at a time I want get too stressed. But trying to decide what color shirt to put the desigs on is sooo hard for me. You have done a great job with yours.

GOOD LUCK WITH THE IRONING.

Thanks. I feel so much better now. Just don't want to ruin a shirt or design. I only have light paper left!

I think they look awesome too! You did a great job picking colors to coordinate with the transfers.

If you have full size designs, make sure your parchment paper covers all of the design or it will melt the edges. As far as trimming, I only trimmed designs that had a border so I don't have much advice.

You've already got a bunch of great tips. One more is to only iron for the time specified. If you iron too long it can discolor the shirts.

Deb

Thanks, Deb. and notice DH has no shirts. what a party pooper! Maybe he'll want one once he sees them tonight. I can make him anything on a white shirt! (only have light paper left). :rotfl2:

I know Kate is taking a break, but I now have the most posts on the DDA thread! ;)

WOW!!! Those designs look great. I have a flat stove-top so that is where I did my ironing. I have only done 4 shirts for different occasions so I don't have much advice. The 1st two I moved the iron in a circular motion on the ironing board.....DON'T.... I repeat DON'T do that. The other two shirts I did on the stove top and just moved to one spot to another and pressed really hard for about 3 minutes moving and holding in different spots.....GOOD LUCK!! You still haven't posted a picture of those Christmas sweaters. I would love to see those.

Lynn

Denise -- Don't be alarmed when it is hard to peel the backing off the light transfers. Iron them on using the tips posted before, let them cool a bit, then pick at the edge with your fingernail to separate the backing from the design and get a piece loose, then pull on that piece, holding the design and tee down with your other hand. It will come right off.

Good luck!!

YOUR SHIRTS LOOK FABULOUS!! I'm going to have to talk DBF into arriving on Dec 7 just so we can see you all in your shirts live!!

Jennifer

Ok guys, I must tell you that I have not had so much fun since I was on the "Original Prodigy" (gasp) chatting on the Cat chat board. I looked forward to that for everything. Sometimes DH would get on and start posting and all of a sudden they would realize it was him instead of me. They helped us through a lot of sadness (one kitty had kidney failure) and a lot of great fun. My best friend Steffy introduced me to this board before our trip and when we made our shirts, wore them to DW, it was with great joy. Once I figure how to work the camera, we will post pictures of the shirts. Now I can see if Steffy is on and she can see me too and then we see each other at work the next day and just moan about how late we stayed up.

Denise! They look wonderful!!!

Okay, my big hint. Do they light tshirts all togther and then the dark tshirts. I mixed them up and then sat and ironed a dark transfer with the backing on. (you iron directly on the backing for light transfers) I'm so proud of myself, I hold up the shirt, and the well ironed transfer falls to the floor. tinker1bell and I were ROTFLAS and almost peed our pants. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I wrote this in another thread:

I love my shirts. We ironed them on a wooden typewriter desk with a pillowcase on top. I allowed the pillowcase to cool in between shirts. We used a good iron on its highest setting. We ironed the transfers for about 4 minutes. We ironed side to side s l o w l y making one pass about 20 seconds. The second minute we ironed top to bottom, each pass about 20 seconds. Then we did around the edges about 15 seconds each side. Then we did a side to side, up and down for the remaining minute. Voila. We let the transfers cool off a little before we peeled them. (about a minute) Then we left the shirts flat to dry overnight.

Good luck! Well, it's off to dinenr and the gym tonight. Go Denise! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

whatever is white on a dark transfer paper will show white on the shirt! Trim knowing that!

Havn't done lite ones.

Also, can you test iron on a spare shirt first, just print a small picture to test with on and old shirt... that helped me alot!

Denise--Your shirts look great! :cheer2: I can't wait to see pics from your trip!

Kate & Baloo--I'm so sorry! I don't really know what is going on, but if it makes you all stop posting (and moderating and designing), I'm definitely against it! Sending you :wizard: !

Denise - your shirts look awesome! Can't wait to see the finished product!

I might be on earlier/more than planned.... nothin' is really going as I THOUGHT it was going to....... :confused3

Blah. At least I have my DISers to look forward to! :teeth:
