Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

Looks like a lot of fun! We have only been to typhoon lagoon and never to blizzard beach. We don't normally go to water parks when we are at disney because we have a whole city dedicated to it by us called the Wisconsin dells so we go there and the resort pools are good enough for us. We will have to get to blizzard beach one of these years to check it out tho. Can't wait to hear more!

Wisconsin Dells! I hear that place is awesome!

Or an adult beverage. ;)

:thumbsup2

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: I'm sorry...I just have this visual in my head now of you getting stuck on the tobaggon.

I would go to the water park just for the Lazy River, as would Mark. We love us a good Lazy River. But I'm with you...I just don't want to get sprayed by the waterfalls...too darn cold.

Lunch looks pretty darn good. We've not been to a water park since 2000 and I believe we were at TL, but I don't remember eating there.

I can't wait to hear where you are off to next.

I am sure the visual that you are getting is just as funny as the real thing. I was a hot mess.

This was our first time eating in one of the Disney waterparks. We are usually done before lunch time.

I want to visit a Disney waterpark so much, but we too visit the Wisconsin Dells many times a year (going tomorrow for the weekend in fact), so I feel like we would be "wasting" a day. Then I see a TR that makes me feel the other way... then I go back to not having time.... it is a vicious circle!:headache:

Plus I am a more of a wimp than you on heights, I could never climb up to most of those slides!:sick:

I love that you did something new and are having such a great time!!!

When I went to the water parks on my last trip all I did was hang out in the lazy river as I'm abit of a chicken when it comes to the water slides. I found the water being sprayed on you in Typhoon lagoon a lot nicer as it was warm unlike the ice cold water in Blizzard beach plus hearing christmas music in August was a bit much for me. November 1st through the end of february is when I'll listen to Christmas music after that I'll skip it if I have my ipod on random.

I used to be a chicken too so I understand. I agree about the water sprays at Typhoon Lagoon. They were warmer! You don't need to ever visit my sister. She starts Christmas music at Halloween and even puts her tree up early November.

Darn it all to heck. My subscription dissapeared and I am almost 20 pages behind!

ARRGH.

Ok.

Cute backsacks as always, dresses too!

Thank you!

I had no idea you had such major stair issues! Then again, I've never eaten at pizza planet so can't picture the stairs but now I will avoid them for sure!

I have major see through stair issues.

I totally respect not speaking the language but those that fake it and break the rules deliberately? that chaps my hide. It'd chap my hide to see an American doing it elsewhere, and sadly they do. I've still never seen VOTLM!

It's just so rude and irritating!

Seriously, where is the tag fairy!
:thumbsup2

This sounds like a miserable event on every single level. I am so sorry! I do love Hunters remark to Goofy though!

I had no problem with their size. Most of my family are larger sized folks so I know their issues. But the rudeness was too much.

I've not yet been to Blizzard Beach. Maybe one of these days! Especially when I see how much you enjoyed it (and I like your suit!).

Blizzard Beach was soooooooo much fun!

I hear you on the lip balm. Not blistex in my case, though that used to be my balm of choice. I have them stashed EVERYWHERE and it's bad if I can't find it, or a lip gloss, or something!

In fact I need some now.

I remember you needing to keep lip balm. I'm that same way. I don't walk out the door without it.

I would agree though, the food at Typhoon Lagoon was better than I'd expect from a water park. It was a long time ago but still, I remember quite liking whatever I got.

What a fun water park day!

I was actually quite surprised with the food quality.

Oh I remember well doing that big 2- or 3-dip body slide. I did not wear the proper clothing and almost ended up quite embarrassed! It was terrifying being up so high (I have a fear of heights too) but in the end it was fun.

I also managed to get lost that day and had to sit at the Lost Parents picnic bench until my friends came to find me. We always set a designated meeting spot but no one ever came to find me there!!

I am just loving all of your updates!

Love the updates! We had to put our trip off a year because Hubby got a new job. When we go next year we plan on spending a day at Blizzard Beach. Showed my youngest son, and he can't wait to float on the lazy river! My oldest wants to do the Tobaggan Racers. Thanks for such a great report!

I'm sorry to hear that you had to put off the trip but at least you know that you're going back. We absolutely loved Blizzard Beach and I'm betting you will too.

Ohh you just made my wednesday morning a laugh riot for me! Oh the visual of you flipping around!!! i know there is a lot more update and a lot more you did.. Yet it all comes back to you as a fish outta water!!!! oh wait there was that lazy river.. then back to you flipping around! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I LOVE YOUR REPORT!!!

Honey, I am sure it was much funnier in person that what I wrote here. I looked like a hot mess!

I'm with you guys! I can sit on a chair at home. This is Disney World!

I have a very hard time slowing down and doing nothing when on vacation. I have a hard time doing it at home too but on vacation it's even worse.

Truth! You either get stuck behind the group of 20 all holding hands and barely moving, or separated by the group of 5 teens determined to speed-walk through the whole river. :sad2:

:faint:

But hey, at least it's freezing water!:rotfl2:

:lmao:

Just like the animatronic sleeping lion on the safari ride! :rotfl::rotfl2:

Just like that.

:faint: You have to wait till I'm sitting down before you spring something like that one me!

Ooops, I need to post a warning before I post what Hunter had for lunch.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

You lucky duck! We don't have anything even remotely cool like that around here.

Sara, I am the biggest wimp in the history of the world and if I can do the slides, then you could too.

I have a really cute suit that I wore on the cruise but I was afraid that I'd end up like your story if I wore it to Blizzard Beach.

Oh you poor thing. You were lost and nobody came to find you!

. We don't normally go to water parks when we are at disney because we have a whole city dedicated to it by us called the Wisconsin dells so we go there and the resort pools are good enough for us.

This is the exact reason we haven't done the water parks. I just can't justify giving up a park day to visit a waterpark when we have so many. The Dells are awesome, though!

I will be :rotfl2: for a while thinking about you flopping around like a fish when your raft wouldn't move. Totally made my day to read that. I'm sure it didn't make YOUR day when it happened, but thank you for providing all of us with a laugh. :)

I love the lazy river, but would hate the cold water they spray on you. Maybe it's cold because it's Blizzard Beach? I've always said if we did one of the water parks it would have to be Typhoon Lagoon because looking at all the fake snow makes me freeze.

Sorry you lost your blistex. :(

Ah Blizzard Beach!! :goodvibes So funny about you getting stuck on the racers so many times. We saw some others who got stuck, but luckily I did not. It totally sounds like something I would do, thought. :rolleyes1

We really loved that Lazy River. We ended up having some great bonding time just floating along chatting with our kids. :cloud9:

So, the slides in the woods with the covered tunnels...I would NOT do those! :sad2: I suffer just a bit from claustrophobia, and I do NOT like completely covered tunnel slides, no way- no how! :scared1: My family did those a couple of times, and I was perfectly content sitting in the little covered "bandstand" at the end. :cool2: But, boy...is it not a big ole' hike uphill to get to those?

:rotfl: :lmao: That's what I'm doing right now imagining you on that racer slide! I've never been to either water park and probably never will (just not a water person at all) but I do enjoy reading about them.

I would be just like you with the lost Bliztex although I use Chapstick instead. I usually bring 3 or 4 tubes with me just in case!

As soon as I saw the menus, I knew where you guys were going for lunch because only I could only read pizza on one of them. ::yes:: :rotfl2:

I learned my swimwear lesson that day :worried:

I was "lost" for about 2 hours! At least I had a little boy to play checkers with, and the cute lifeguard boy kept me company (I was just 18 haha) but the little boy was thankfully reunited with his parents quickly, and I just sat...and sat...and sat...haha! :headache:

Great day at the water park!

Too funny about getting stuck on the toboggan. Every.Single.Time!

:lmao:

Lazy Rivers are fun, but you are right, it can be really hard to stay together.

Oh, I was really hoping one of you was going to try the jerk chicken something for lunch. I love me some jerk chicken!

Hmmm... Where to next? Putt-Putt?

:goodvibes

I certainly wasn't trying to say that this family's size ruined our meal. It was their stupid rudeness!
Oh I know that.

Those prices for cakes are average here. That is why I bake. LOL.

I hope John finds out what the symptoms are form.

Cheesecake will make a man do antyhing. LOL.

That water sounds real cold. LOL.

Nothing wrong with the bathing suit and you don’t look very white. Good for you doing the slide. I need to get there one day, Vinny has no desire to do the water parks.

That is funny about the Toboggan racers.

Your Blistex feelings is like mine for Listerine Strips. Thankfully they sell mine all over Disney now. LOL.

The lazy river looks right up my speed.

I am picturing you flopping around like a fish on the Toboggans and I am cracking up.

Sounds like a fun day at BB.

This is the exact reason we haven't done the water parks. I just can't justify giving up a park day to visit a waterpark when we have so many. The Dells are awesome, though!

I wish that we had something like the Dells nearby. :worried:

I will be :rotfl2: for a while thinking about you flopping around like a fish when your raft wouldn't move. Totally made my day to read that. I'm sure it didn't make YOUR day when it happened, but thank you for providing all of us with a laugh. :)

Hey, if I didn't want ya'll to laugh at me, I wouldn't haven't posted the stories. I had a good laugh at my own expense.

The water at Blizzard Beach wasn't that bad once it started to warm up during the day. But, I'm not a fan of spraying water no matter where I am so I'm not a good person to judge.

Ah Blizzard Beach!! :goodvibes So funny about you getting stuck on the racers so many times. We saw some others who got stuck, but luckily I did not. It totally sounds like something I would do, thought. :rolleyes1

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for posting that! At least I now know that I'm not the only person who gets stuck.

I didn't mind the tubes at all and I'm a tiny bit claustrophobic. There's no way on God's green Earth that Mama would even get near a tunnel.

:rotfl: :lmao: That's what I'm doing right now imagining you on that racer slide! I've never been to either water park and probably never will (just not a water person at all) but I do enjoy reading about them.

It's funny 'cause none of us are water or beach people and we love the water parks and Caribbean Beach?:rolleyes2

I would be just like you with the lost Bliztex although I use Chapstick instead. I usually bring 3 or 4 tubes with me just in case!

If I were to dig around in my purse right now, I'd probably have at least three tubs of Blistex.

As soon as I saw the menus, I knew where you guys were going for lunch because only I could only read pizza on one of them. ::yes:: :rotfl2:

What can I say? Hunter is predictable.

Great day at the water park!

Yep, every single time I rode the racers, I got stuck. I have no idea why?

Nope no jerk chicken, sorry but I do like it.

Oh I know that.

I remember when the Listerine Strips first came out. Those suckers are strong!

We had a fantastic day at Blizzard Beach! So much so that we are going back again!

Peace, sand and good will! Where’s that snoring coming from?

I found a castmember nearby and asked if it would be possible to leave our bag in the locker, leave the park and then re-enter later to retrieve the bag. She said that we could do that without any problems so long as we re-entered prior to park closing. I put everything but the camera in the bag and shoved it into the locker.

Our destination was within walking distance from Blizzard Beach. We were going to Winter Summerland Golf Course. When we used to stay offsite oodles of years ago, we played mini-golf a lot since there are several courses along Hwy. 192 but this was our first time playing one of Disney’s courses.

The walk to Winter Summerland was short. Just take the sidewalk to the left of the entrance (left when exiting the park ;)) and you’ll soon be there. There didn’t seem to be many people playing at this time of the day but there were two families arriving at the same time that we did. So, when it was our time to pay (we didn’t have to because we had the water park and more passes), we asked which side the other families had chosen and we went the opposite direction simply so we could get started right away.

The desk/registers were in this cute little Elfstream “trailer”:

The course that we had chosen took us to the left side and we found another Elfstream but this version was smaller than the other:

Heck, there were Elfstreams everywhere!

Watch out for those Santa hat wearin’ fish! They’ll spit water at ya!

Disney sure knows how to keep with a theme and even the signs were Christmas themed:

The next hole was cute:

Ya’ll, I am not an athletic person. I take that back. I’m not a sports kinda person. I can walk miles and miles and not complain. I can help heft up a cabinet like it was nothing. But, I’ve been known to be standing a yard away from someone and throw a pair of socks to them and they hit the wall instead of going directly to the person. I’ve also had a softball hit me square in the chest ‘cause I can’t catch worth a hoot. :sad2: Oh and there’s the time that Hunter asked me to toss him his flip flop and it caught on the ceiling fan. :rolleyes1 Yeah, I’m not a sports kinda gal. Sooooooo, you can imagine the immense joy that overcame me when I made a hole in dadgum one! Take that suckas! Boom bam, that would be a hole in one thank you very much! :cheer2:

Oh you boys are tired of hearing me talk about my HOLE IN ONE? Well, I was tired of hearing you cackle when I got stuck at the top of the racers. So take that and that and that and that. :joker: Okay, so I’ll stop rubbin’ it in your face. Shall we move on? Please m’am, let’s do.

See the hole right there beside Goofy?

That would be the hole that John sunk his golf ball right in with just one stroke of his club:

John’s not rubbing it in quite like I did in the picture. Okay, so he’s a better sportsman that I am. Whatever! No, really, we all got excited when he made it in. :yay:

As we approached the next hole, we could hear snoring and it took us a minute to figure out where it was coming from. Apparently, somebody was taking a little nap and was snoring quite loudly.

**Continued in next post

This poor snowman was melting:

On the next hole, your ball would go through the barber pole, spiral it’s way up and then drop out the other side. There’s my ball going up:

Hunter got low to the ground to watch his ball :rotfl2::

Waiting for it to show up:

and show up it did. Right into the hole! Hunter got a hole in one too! :cool1: He clearly takes after his mother in the bragging department :lmao::

When you near the end of the course, you’ll go into a small building/shed type structure and must hit your ball through a ribbon loop on a gift:

The items at the base of the tree turn and you must time hitting your ball just so:

On the last hole, you hit your ball into the hole and the computer screen comes on.

Each of us got a different scene:

We turned in our golf clubs and were offered small wrapped candy canes! We made a quick pit stop:

This sled was “pulling” the Elfstream:

The guys sat on the benches outside of Blizzard Beach while I went inside to retrieve our things from the locker. I turned in the key and was given a choice between getting my deposit back or a cinch sack. Since I make my own customized bags, I chose to get my deposit back. I met back up with the guys and we walked to the bus stop. As had been the case every single time this trip, the bus came soon after we arrived.

We all had a great time at Winter Summerland and will definitely be going back in the future!

**Up next: Let's Go Jungle! We've got fun and games!

That looks like a lot of fun! We have never done mini golf at Disney looks like I'll have to put that on my Disney bucket list to do on a future trip.

I am still here! Just popping in to tell you Im alive! I am so hopelessly behind! But now I have plans for tomorrow night/Sunday afternoon! Have a great weekend!

The golfing looks like a blast! I have never thought of doing mini golf while at Disney but not I just might have to give it a try in a few weeks!

Wow all 3 of you got holes in one pretty impressive ::yes:::thumbsup2
