Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

How funny that you got stuck on the toboggan racers. :lmao: If it makes you feel better I have gotten stuck in the middle of a water slide much to the laughter of the kids I was nannying at the time.:rotfl:

Ah.. a fellow blistex lover. Other chap sticks just aren't the same.

Love this update! So nice to hear about you having a great time at the water park.

I am the exact opposite of John. I don't like the body slides but I'll do any of the tube rides.

Poor John, he and tubes just aren't a good mix. He falls over every single time.

What a great story about getting stuck, being able to laugh at yourself and getting others to laugh along with you.

:goodvibes

I'm one of those people who laughs at themselves all of the time. Thank goodness for a good sense of humor.

I hear you on the Blistex. Especially during Florida or trips to other warm, sunny places. My lips get so chapped. Sometimes a tube may get "accidentally" forgotten in my carryon so I will have it on the plane ride home.

:rolleyes1

I have got to have my Blistex with me at all times!

Love the updates!!! And I just got back myself from a trip to the World, so I had a few to catch up on.

Fantasmic is my absolute favorite attraction in all of Disney! I refuse to miss it. I'm a little different from y'all though, because I've seen it enough times that now I like to see as much "backstage" stuff as I can, so this trip I asked the CM to sit as far to the side as possible. He looked at me like I'd sprouted an extra head. Literally, his response was "You want to sit on the side?" I didn't end up in the very far section, but I was in the one next to it, so I was happy.

Ooooh, I've never thought about sitting to the side so I can see what's going on backstage. Thanks for the idea!

It's so funny that you were very "meh" over Hollywood and Vine. We gave it our first shot (it wasn't a character meal), and felt the same way. The food just didn't wow me, and to be honest the service was not up to par.

It will be a long time before we go back to Hollywood and Vine.

I can't believe you've never done Blizzard Beach before! We were the opposite, in that it took us until just a couple of years ago to try Typhoon. When I was 16, my best friend talked me into doing Summit Plummet...which was the most terrifying 30 seconds of my life. I closed my eyes once I sat down on the slide because the height was making me dizzy. And then it's such an extreme angle that it takes about half a second once you push forward for your legs to connect with the slide. In that half second, I was convinced I'd pushed myself too far, had missed the slide completely, and was going to fall to my death.:scared1: I react rationally under pressure, can't you tell? :rolleyes1

Oh you poor thing! You really did talk yourself ito a tizzy.

My mom also had problems on the mats. We weren't at Blizzard Beach, but a waterpark in Williamsburg, VA. All 3 of us decided to race, and when the lifeguard says go we all push off. Dad and I get to the bottom, and Mom is nowhere to be seen! She couldn't figure out how to get the mat situated, so a lot of wriggling and writhing later, down she comes by her lonesome almost diagonally. I honestly thought she was going to jump the little ridge and end up in another lane. :sad2: Made for some good laughs though!

Your mother and I should never ever ever go to a water park together. :rotfl:

I find it funny that you couldn't find Blistex. I'm a Chapstick person myself (the medicated kind), but my dad constantly wants to borrow mine and ends up messing up the nice smooth edge. So last week I, ahem, "forgot" I had it in my pocket, so we asked where to get some. Baby Care Center! And they sell Blistex.

Does the Baby Care Center have Blistex in the little blue tubs? I don't like the tubes.

Loving your pictures from the park. Denny and I did the rapid runoffs (or whatever they are called) several times last June. I loved that ride. Well, at least until my stupid neck started to hurt.

Too funny about not being able to get your tobaggen to move. I would have cracked myself up too! :lmao:

We will be in the world 5/30 to 6/5 or 6/6. I really do hope we overlap!!!!!! ::yes::

I could not get that darn toboggan sled thing to move no matter how hard I tried.

Oh my gosh! I dates do overlap!!!!!

Ahem...
I mean that it's like I know you guys.

Looking forward to more. :hyper:

I knew what ya meant! ;)

Oh we did that race slide where you got stuck :rotfl: We had so much fun on that !

The guys ended up riding it more than a half dozen times. They loved it!

Blizzard Beach sounds like a ton of fun! You had me laughing at your description of getting stuck :rotfl2:

Steph, I looked like such an idiot flopping around at the top but it was still fun.

i definititely dont want to rush away the time but I can't wait until my boys are old enough for water slides and such so we can visit the waterparks too! Looks so fun!

When they get old enough, you really should go to the water parks. We had a blast!

What a fun update, Lisa.

You got a lot done, but all those steps to get up to those slides. I'd need a nap after the second one. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

"Push my butt with your foot or something"...I love it.

I'm like John...I always fall out of the tube and end up sucking up water. Yet another reason I avoid the water parks.

We did get a lot of things done, Kathy. I was in need of help and would have loved for a castmember to have pushed my butt with their foot just to get me unstuck.

So, if we ever do a water park together, I can count on you and John sitting around drinking coffee together.

Now that I'm hearing other's stories of getting stuck on things at water parks, I don't feel so bad. :rotfl:

Oh no, no other chapstick can compare to Blistex. It burns when you put it on and I like it. :thumbsup2

Ice Gators, Caves and Manatees! I’m gettin’ out!

Once the guys were finished with the toboggan racers, they came back to the lounger where I was waiting for them. John was ready to sit back and relax but Hunter and I aren’t good at doin’ nothin’. The lounger that we had initially chosen was in the shade and John wanted to lie in the sun so we set off to find another spot. As we were walking along, Hunter asked if we wanted to float the lazy river. I did! :yay: John had his mind set on soaking up some sun. So, we found John a spot and Hunter and I went to closest entrance to the lazy river.

Even though we were already wet, the water did feel a little cool at first. Not cold but a little cool. We waited until a couple of empty tubes floated by, grabbed them and our floating along started. If you want to stay with your party on the river, you better grab hold of the handles on the other tubes or hold hands or grab a foot or something because 9 times out of 10, you’ll get separated. Hunter was behind me:

and then he was gone. I had no clue where he was. :confused3 So, I sat back, relaxed:

and drifted. And, enjoyed the sights around me:

The river took us under walkways:

under bridges:

Just look at my pedicure would ya! You can see how much pushing and shoving I did with my feet trying to take off on the toboggan racers. My polish was worn off and I had scrapes in my actual toe nails :

Up ahead of me, I could see a cave with a waterfall.

If you stayed waaaaay off to the sides, you wouldn’t get wet. Of course, even though I tried to get over to the side, I went through right smack in the middle and got drenched. There was a couple who had been drifting along beside me for quite some time and we talked every now and then. They were super nice and she wasn’t too keen on getting drenched either but she did. And, she shrieked like a banshee. :rotfl:I couldn’t resist sneaking a picture of her:

Inside the cave:

The cave wasn’t very long and I was soon back outside:

I floated right on past Manatee Landing:

In the distance, I could see a small building in the river but I wasn’t quite sure what it was. I could hear squeals and quick screams as people went past it. The lady beside me said “the water must be cold” and that’s when I figured out that the building or something near it was squiring water onto the people floating by.

Behind me, I heard a deep familiar voice and when I turned, I saw that Hunter had caught up to me and wasn’t far behind.

The squirting water was cold! At least it was to me but I’m a ti**y baby when it comes to cold water. Hunter and I were now floating along side by side and as we were talking, we came to the realization that we were hungry. We waited until we reached the exit that we needed to take and we found John right where we left him. Lying on a lounge chair with his hat over his face and from the slight huffing sound that was coming from underneath that hat, he was having himself a little snooze. ;)

Hunter and I used the towels that we brought to dry our bottoms off and pulled on some shirts. John said that he was getting hungry too and, just a little ways behind us was a sign with menus posted on it. We left most of our things on the chair and walked over to the signs to see what we wanted for lunch.

Lottawatta Lounge was right next to us and they served something that each of us would eat so that’s where we went. Our timing was perfect. Just a few people in front of us in line and lots and lots of picnic tables were available just outside of the restaurant. John and I ordered the burgers and Hunter ordered a pizza. Shocker, I know! :p

*continued in next post

I don’t remember for sure, but I’m thinking that Hunter had a chocolate chip cookie and the desserts that John and I had were either cheesecakes or key lime pie cheesecakes. Again, I’m not sure. The food was not outstanding but it was above average and certainly not what I would have expected from a water park. At least not the non-Disney water parks that we’ve visited before.

After lunch, we walked around a little just to see what else there was that we might want to do. I seem to recall that Hunter and I did something else that involved riding in tubes and then did the body slide again. In the meantime, John went back to the lounge chair to finish off his nap. I don’t have any picture proof of what we did because I left the camera in the bag under John’s chair.

I think it was around 2:00/2:30 when we were just about tuckered out from the water park. We had done everything in the park with the exception of the huge body slide and the kids section. The guys said that they wanted to do the Toboggan Racers again before we left. I agreed to try again and, once again, I got stuck. I just could NOT get my sled to push off of the drain/sucker upper thing. I just laid there flailing about like a fish outta water. Flop, flip, kick, push, flop, flip, kick, push! Just like before, it wasn’t until almost every single person was at least three fourths of the way down the course before I was able to push off.

John and Hunter were waiting for me at the end and, of course, laughing at me like crazy hyenas. Ya’ll shut up! I’m going to do it again and, this time, I’m going to kick your laughing butts! I climbed the steps with a renewed vigor and when we got to the top, I told myself “Don’t put your sled too far forward. Keep it back a little so you have a little extra leg pushin’ off room. When you get the signal, kick like a mule.”

Soooo, it’s our turn. I take my sled up there, get it positioned just right, turned to look and make sure that I had plenty of pushin’ off room and it all looked good. Then, they told me to move forward some. There goes my plan! The light goes off and I’m stuck once again but not for as long as I had been before and I at least beat one little kid who probably just made the height restriction. :lmao: I swonder!

I gave up after that and let the guys do the racers over and over and over again. Yep, I think they ended up doing the racers five more times. Me? I took pictures:

Finally, John and Hunter said that they’d done the racers enough and were ready to leave the water park. We picked up our bag from the chair and made our way to the lockers and changing rooms. We had another destination to go to before heading back to the resort and I had a question that I needed to ask of a castmember before we left.

**Up next: Peace, sand and good will! Where’s that snoring coming from?

Looks like a lot of fun! We have only been to typhoon lagoon and never to blizzard beach. We don't normally go to water parks when we are at disney because we have a whole city dedicated to it by us called the Wisconsin dells so we go there and the resort pools are good enough for us. We will have to get to blizzard beach one of these years to check it out tho. Can't wait to hear more!

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao: I'm sorry...I just have this visual in my head now of you getting stuck on the tobaggon.

I would go to the water park just for the Lazy River, as would Mark. We love us a good Lazy River. But I'm with you...I just don't want to get sprayed by the waterfalls...too darn cold.

Lunch looks pretty darn good. We've not been to a water park since 2000 and I believe we were at TL, but I don't remember eating there.

I can't wait to hear where you are off to next.

Does the Baby Care Center have Blistex in the little blue tubs? I don't like the tubes.

It looked more greenish to me, but it was a tube like regular Chapstick. I didn't even know it came in other forms haha. I agree with you on the burning though, makes ya feel like it's working!

I will say you don't see too much backstage at Fantasmic, because they do a good job of waiting until they are completely out of sight. But you do have a better view of the Evil Queen's transformation, or how it's done.

I'm also generally not a panicky person, but I don't like being dropped or the sensation of falling. You can flip me upside down all you want, but don't drop me. My boyfriend got me on one of the drop towers at our state fair, and I was almost in tears the whole way up. Screamed like a little girl on the way down, and tried to curl up in a fetal position, which gave me a bruise on my thigh where I banged it on the harness :rolleyes2 Clearly, I don't ride ToT. But I'll do RnRC over and over!! :thumbsup2

You and that toboggan! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: That is so something I would do. I give you props for going back up there so many times.

Love the pictures from the lazy river. So cool that you had a water proof camera to take around with you. Denny and I really enjoyed that lazy river last October.

:rotfl:I can just see you getting stuck on that racer slide :lmao::lmao: I hope I dont get stuck when we go :scratchin
You sure do write the best trip reports !

When I went to the water parks on my last trip all I did was hang out in the lazy river as I'm abit of a chicken when it comes to the water slides. I found the water being sprayed on you in Typhoon lagoon a lot nicer as it was warm unlike the ice cold water in Blizzard beach plus hearing christmas music in August was a bit much for me. November 1st through the end of february is when I'll listen to Christmas music after that I'll skip it if I have my ipod on random.

Darn it all to heck. My subscription dissapeared and I am almost 20 pages behind!

ARRGH.

Ok.

Cute backsacks as always, dresses too!

I had no idea you had such major stair issues! Then again, I've never eaten at pizza planet so can't picture the stairs but now I will avoid them for sure!

I totally respect not speaking the language but those that fake it and break the rules deliberately? that chaps my hide. It'd chap my hide to see an American doing it elsewhere, and sadly they do. I've still never seen VOTLM!

Lord, please, forgive me for what I said and feed the starving pygmies in New Guinea. :littleangel:

Seriously, where is the tag fairy!

Ya’ll, I’m not making fun of these people because they are large. I'm trying to explain the cramped space that we were dealing with and their lack of manners/common courtesy. Actually, they weren’t dealing with it at all because they were hogging the heck outta our area/space. More than once, we were bonked in the head or shoulder by one of their bags or their behinds. :sad2: When the guy would sit down, he would walk into the space backwards and, literally, fall back. The whole dang table would shake when he did it. Of course, he wasn’t falling back into the spot where he needed to sit, he was falling into the space between him and John.

At one point, he fell back and right onto John’s leg. John could hold his tongue no more and said “Plop down in my lap why don’t you!” The guy just grunted and scooted over to his seat. Never apologized, no oops, no sorry, no nothin’. Heck, he probably couldn’t say nothing after plopping down like that ‘cause he probably had the wind knocked out of him.

This sounds like a miserable event on every single level. I am so sorry! I do love Hunters remark to Goofy though!

I've not yet been to Blizzard Beach. Maybe one of these days! Especially when I see how much you enjoyed it (and I like your suit!).

I hear you on the lip balm. Not blistex in my case, though that used to be my balm of choice. I have them stashed EVERYWHERE and it's bad if I can't find it, or a lip gloss, or something!

In fact I need some now.

I would agree though, the food at Typhoon Lagoon was better than I'd expect from a water park. It was a long time ago but still, I remember quite liking whatever I got.

What a fun water park day!

Love the updates! We had to put our trip off a year because Hubby got a new job. When we go next year we plan on spending a day at Blizzard Beach. Showed my youngest son, and he can't wait to float on the lazy river! My oldest wants to do the Tobaggan Racers. Thanks for such a great report!

Ohh you just made my wednesday morning a laugh riot for me! Oh the visual of you flipping around!!! i know there is a lot more update and a lot more you did.. Yet it all comes back to you as a fish outta water!!!! oh wait there was that lazy river.. then back to you flipping around! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I LOVE YOUR REPORT!!!

John was ready to sit back and relax but Hunter and I aren’t good at doin’ nothin’.

I'm with you guys! I can sit on a chair at home. This is Disney World!

Truth! You either get stuck behind the group of 20 all holding hands and barely moving, or separated by the group of 5 teens determined to speed-walk through the whole river. :sad2:

Up ahead of me, I could see a cave with a waterfall.

If you stayed waaaaay off to the sides, you wouldn’t get wet. Of course, even though I tried to get over to the side, I went through right smack in the middle and got drenched.

But hey, at least it's freezing water!:rotfl2:

We waited until we reached the exit that we needed to take and we found John right where we left him. Lying on a lounge chair with his hat over his face and from the slight huffing sound that was coming from underneath that hat, he was having himself a little snooze. ;)

Just like the animatronic sleeping lion on the safari ride! :rotfl::rotfl2:

John and I ordered the burgers and Hunter ordered a pizza. Shocker, I know! :p

:faint: You have to wait till I'm sitting down before you spring something like that one me!
