Disney dangled the visual weinee & Mickeystoontown gobbled it up! 10/26

I am very much in the minority. I didn't like Frozen. Yup, I said it. I thought it was only.... meh. Not good, not bad. I certainly don't understand the hype. Then again, I feel the same way about Avatar...

Looks like they had some interesting displays, at least.

The trip was good--very, very hot!! The girls ended up playing much further in the tournament than we anticipated so we didn't get as much Disney time as we had thought we would--but that's okay! They finished 9th in the World Series out of 32 teams!!!! We were hoping to win one game and were thrilled with the way it all worked out--considering we came here with only 9 girls, so no substitutes--every girl, played every inning. They had a blast!

We did do all the parks--although Animal Kingdom was very brief! We went to EMH one morning at 7am to ride Everest and had to be at the softball field by 8:15. We were first in the park, first on the ride and back out the gate by like 7:40! On Saturday we did 4 parks and 4 resorts in 8 hours.

I may try to can peaches this summer--if I get brave enough! We usually get good peaches here by mid August. We'll see if I have enough courage--Oh, and enough time! Gotta get DD packed and delivered to college in less than 3 weeks!!!!:(

We went into that little church as well. I thought it was awesome! For them to take all those pictures and then animate them to use them in the movie was so cool. You should watch it once--just the music is worth the time! But the storyline is cute as well. I wanted to see it so made my teenage boys go with me to the theatre--yeah, they were thrilled! LOL

Way to go team! A BIG shoutout and cheer to them!

Holy smokes! You guys were in and out of Animal Kingdom in record time! I bet they haven't seen anybody go in and leave so fast. And, seeing four parks and four resorts in one day. :faint:

I am sure that I'll watch Frozen at some point in time but I'm just not itching to see it. I bet that your boys were super duper happy to accompany you to the movies. :rotfl:

Love your writing! Sounds like a great trip. We stayed at Caribbean Beach for a long weekend our last trip. Our first time staying moderate and enjoyed it very much!

Thank you! I am pretty long winded at times but I get excited about reliving my trip and sharing it with everybody.

We love Caribbean Beach and I'm glad to her that you enjoyed it as well. I think that we are at 297 days until we are back there again but who is countin'.

:rotfl2::lmao:

I love the small font. LOL! Seriously, you really should watch the movie, though. It is amazing. Even if you just watch it for the animation. The story is also spectacular, though. Of course I've seen it 5,867 times because I have 2 girls under the age of 15. I probably don't need to see it again. ;)

I wonder of that Frozen exhibit is still in the church? It looks pretty cool!

Well, I couldn't very well shout it out to the world that I hadn't seen Frozen when I figured every other person had already seen it. I simply had to use the teeny tiny font.

I wish that we had taken more pictures of the exhibits so that I could share them with you all. But, like I said, it was crowded at the time.

I'm with Hunter...LOVE Frozen. I've watched it several times, alone and with my hubby. I have to be sure we get into see that exhibit when we are there in September since we missed it in June.

I think while you were nice and dry in Mexico, we were getting nice and drenched in Canada. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Norway? Nothing like school? I'm betting you had School Bread. I'll be curious as to what you thought of it (Mark and I had it a few years ago).

Where's the bathroom!?!?! Too funny!:rotfl:

I know right? Did they really expect there to be a bathroom in there?

I hope they still have that Frozen exhibit in the church when we go in October. I'd like to see that.

Seems like y'all were doing a great job of dodging the rain! :thumbsup2

I bet that it will still be there in October especially since there is still such a Frozen following.

We did an excellent job!

I have a feeling that's what I'll think too. I have never seen Avatar either. That's not a movie that I even remotely considered spenting 3 hours of my life watching.

So, you like the movie huh Kathy? ;) I guess that I'll borrow the movie from Hunter's girlfriend and watch it. She brought it over one weekend and I never even picked it up.

I bet that's it! We were all cozy in Mexico and you were drowning in Canada.

You shall soon see what we found.

HALLELUJAH I'M NOT ALONE!!!!!!! I saw it, I liked it, but I can NOT for the life of me understand how it has turned into the sensation it is. I'm tired of it and I'm ready to move on.

This isn’t anything like we used to have at school? Prolly ‘cause we didn’t go to school in Norway.

One of the many things that I love about Disney (believe me there’s a whooooooooole lotta things that I love ), is the fact that there is always something new to try. It can be something that’s new to everybody or something that’s new to us. This time, we were trying something new to us.

That something would be a visit to the Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe. Okay, so I totally stole the name and spelling from allearsnet because I couldn’t remember the name and knew that I’d totally bungle up the spelling.:rotfl:

We got in the short line and looked at the array of goodies. As I have said many times, Hunter is not a sweet/dessert eater. He wanted a Sprite. John and I, well, we weren’t walking into a bakery and coming out empty handed.

For years, I’ve heard “oh you need to try the school bread”, “the school bread is heavenly”, “school bread is yummy”. By gosh darn golly, I was going to try it myself. John ordered a troll horn and a coffee. Each item was considered a snack on the dining plan so there were no out of pocket costs. Cha-ching! :yay: Or No Cha-Ching!

There were quite a few empty tables outside of the Kafe, (did you see how I went all Norwegian on ya’ll and used Kafe instead of café ;)) but we found that most of those were a little wet because they were on the outer edge. We found one that wasn’t too wet and sat down to enjoy our treats.

My school bread still intact:

And one after I cut/tore because it didn't cut well:

John’s troll horn and coffee:

What’d we think? I hate to say it but both were just okay. Not out of this world delicious and not bad. Quite honestly, the school bread didn’t have much flavor to it. I guess that I was thinking that it’d taste more along the lines of a donut. The troll horn was just okay too. I’d score them a B-, possibly a C. The Sprite? Hunter rated it an A+. :thumbsup2

While eating our snacks, my niece called me and asked me some legal questions about a contract. I tried my best to answer them and give her some suggested wording but contract work is not what I do. Have a question about a divorce, child custody fussin' and fightin' and I'm the woman to call. We thought outloud for a little bit and I think that she finally settled on the wording to use and she thanked me bunches.

After our snacks and my legal advise giving, we walked over to the store in Norway. The line for Maelstrom was out the door and we had another day at Epcot so we’d ride it then. For the time being, we were fine with just checking out the store. Hunter came upon an old friend who he has known since he was just one year old:

Originally, we had thought that we’d buy a snack in every country and take it home to John’s parents but the prices for the snacks were crazy. :scared1: Uh, no, they’d be getting something else as a souvenir. We walked out and it was humid but the sun was semi-shining so we continued our walk around World Showcase stopping here and there yet not really doing anything other than window shopping. I think that this was the day that we bought John’s mother something in China but I’m not really sure.

When we got to Morocco, the band was playing and the belly dancer was performing.

The band was really good. The belly dancer? Well, not so great. I swear that I could have gotten up there and done a better belly dance than she did and I ain’t no dancer. She mostly played with and flicked her hair and moved her feet from side to side a bit. Every now and then, she’d swivel her hips a little. Not quite sure what was up with that? Having said that, you may notice that there are quite a few men in the crowd so she musta been doing somethin’ right. :rotfl:

We were mostly taking it easy this afternoon which was the best plan since John hadn’t been feeling well earlier. It’s best to take things slowly and play it by ear. By the time we made it to the store by the International Gateway, my ear was telling me to tell my family’s ear that it would be nice to walk over to the Yacht & Beach Clubs and have a look around. Both of the guys were up for it so we set off to see another something “new to us” that being the Yacht and Beach Clubs.

A pit stop was made at the bathrooms before we continued our journey and we admired the pretty plants there at the gateway. We had just started our walk when I heard someone say “Lisa?” and it was JessietheNCCowgirl! :yay:

I believe that I’m remembering correctly that she and her family were on their way to a Soarin’ FP but we had time to chat with each other. It was a very nice meet and I am so glad they she spotted me. (Note to anybody and everybody: I am the world’s worst about not noticing people. I’m serious! I’ve had my own family members tell me that I walked or drove right past them and didn’t see them despite them waving at me. :wave2: If you see me and I keep on walking, scream at me ‘cause I promise I didn’t see you.)

We even have picture proof that we met up!

Lord have mercy on my gosh awful bangs! I have wavy hair and it goes wild in the Florida humidity. Thanks JessietheNCCowgirl for stopping me so we could meet! You and your family are just as sweet in person as I pictured ya’ll to be.

**Up next: Is that bird crap or a hidden Mickey? Look closely! I can't tell!

Oh good...Mark and I were not alone. We did not care for the school bread at all. I thought it was awful (and that was without eating the coconut which I detest) and Mark said it was really bland.

Hunter with the troll. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I'm sorry...that's all I can say about that. :lmao:

What is it with men and half naked women anyway? ;)

:cheer2::cheer2: for an unexpected DIS Meet. So nice that you got to meet Jessie.

I can't wait to hear what you think of the Beach and Yacht Club.

Oh, by the way, is this the day we met up at Epcot at Starbucks? I didn't put it in my TR because I couldn't remember? Or this earlier in your trip before we got there?

The bread tasted like a bland roll. Not even a good yeasty roll. I didn't really care for it one way or the other.

Hunter and his poses. He's the master!

It was so nice to see another Diser and have an impromptu meet!

I think that we met on our second day at Epcot which was later but I could be wrong.

Oh my gosh! The two resorts were beautiful! Now, I just need to make more money so I can afford to stay there for two whole weeks.

Hi Lisa, I'm a first time-reader to your TR and I'm loving what I see so far (have gotten through it all this afternoon!). There's no such thing as too many pictures or detail in a TR as far as I'm concerned.

As soon as I saw that you were in the Stavekirke my mind immediately went, "School bread!" and from the teaser it looks like yours did too!

Looking forward to reading more!

oh man guess i lost my secret hideout, that church is where we've always gone to cool off when we need to soak up some AC.I saw Frozen and while it is cute my honest opinion is that The Princess and the Frog was way better! Also i'm not a fan of school bread or the horn.I'm telling you go to Karamel kuche n get a chocolate dipped pineapple spear with caramel drizzle....HEAVEN!!!! For real!!!!

I know that was a short update, but I can't remember all what I wanted to comment on! Sheesh.

Glad you tried a new snack - even though it was kind of blah. I agree, by the way. Norwegians are not known for their food having lots of flavor. Trust me, they are all over up here. They think ketchup is spicy. no lie.

Love Hunter and his old buddy Mr. Troll!

Never been in the little church - I always forget when I'm there.

Belly dancing - ugh. At my kids' dance studio, they rent out a room a couple nights a week to some women who do belly dancing. The kids think it's so strange!

So cool that you were spotted by a fellow DISer! :cool1: And you were smart enough to get a picture! Don't worry about your bangs! You look lovely. I'm sure everyone's hair was doing weird things with that humidity.

Am I gonna have to call the cops - dispensing legal advice without a law license? :rolleyes2 Heck, you probably know more about family law than most lawyers!

Oh boy. I have a 5 year old daughter and we are very much into Frozen around here. Nothing crazy like stalking the Disney Store to grab an Elsa dress, but when we walked in one day and saw that there was 1 Frozen backpack left we snagged it. I have 1 happy almost kindergartener with a Frozen backpack, lunch box and water bottle (that she bought with the money she made at our garage sale <3).

Welcome! Welcome! I hope that you'll continue to post.

Yep, school bread. I just wish that it had been better. Maybe I set my sights too high?

That was the first time that we've actually gone into the church. I'll have to keep in mind that it's your secret hideout.

We loved Princess & The Frog which may have something to do with the fact that it's set in Louisiana. ;)

I love pineapple and chocolate is always good. I'll have to try that next time.

I know that was a short update, but I can't remember all what I wanted to comment on! Sheesh.

That sounds like me! What did I want to say?

Goodness, they'd never make it here in Louisiana where everything is spicy.

Love Hunter and his old buddy Mr. Troll!

He had that "what's up dude?" look on his face.

Never been in the little church - I always forget when I'm there.

This was the first time that we had ever been in the church. It sure did feel small with all those folks in there.

Belly dancing - ugh. At my kids' dance studio, they rent out a room a couple nights a week to some women who do belly dancing. The kids think it's so strange!

So, you're saying they aren't going to take up belly dancing any time soon?

Ah, shucks! Thanks! My hair was going every which-a-way! It was so nice that we had the impromptu Dis Meet. They were a lovely family and I'm glad that we met.

Am I gonna have to call the cops - dispensing legal advice without a law license? :rolleyes2 Heck, you probably know more about family law than most lawyers!

I wish you would tell my niece that! I couldn't say it in the update because I send them to my sister, her mother, in an email but it drives me nuts when she calls me. I have told her time and again that I don't know contract law!:sad2:

Little girls everywhere are in love with Frozen it seems. Maybe if I had a little girl, I'd have more of a desire to see it.

I found some Frozen fabric at the fabric store a while back and I have been meaning to make some backsacks to sell. I need to get around to it.

HALLELUJAH I'M NOT ALONE!!!!!!! I saw it, I liked it, but I can NOT for the life of me understand how it has turned into the sensation it is. I'm tired of it and I'm ready to move on.

The movie is fine and if I could have a Sven here in Alabama I'd love it!!

HOWEVER - the fans (and I'm not talking about the little girls here, I'm talking about the teens & 20-somethings) are the most annoying things ever. Get over it, ladies and MOVE ON..Sorry for shouting.

Lisa, your description of the School Bread makes me feel so much better about not being able to eat it. I'm allergic to coconut and so it's right out for me.

I love your TRs and am following along happily, counting the days until we're back at CBR... Ahhhh

Oh please share! She can be the mascot of this post!!

I've never seen Frozen either. Shhhh!

I'll look for them and post them for sure! She is adorable! They brought her with them when they visited last week and she was in dog heaven running around our big yard.

The school bread is not something that I'd have to have again. As a matter of fact, I probably won't ever get it again. It's just not my thing, I guess.

I forgot to look at your ticker again. How many more days?
